- In today's Game of Thrones WHAT IF scenario, we talk if it's possible that Daenerys Targaryen's appearance played a significant factor in whether or not her story as the breaker of chains, ruler and future Queen of Westeros, would've continued.
How would her relationship with Jon Snow, Khal Drogo, Jorah Mormont, Daario Naharis, etc. change and would it have helped her? Hurt her?

I think Jorah wouldn't have saved her from the wine poisoner then. And Drogo wouldn't have had as much of a connection to his moon and all those other nicknames.
I think there's some very real truth to this. I mean if Jorah doesn't care enough to save her, then obviously that changes so much. Drogo's perception of her is obviously the 1st issue because it could change a ton right away....
I think her looks only would have been a factor with Jorah and Jon. Monarchies aren't built on looks. Its power and influence that would matter most.
Drogo wanted to marry a exotic beauty and enlisted the help of illyria for it. Had she been ugly, Drogo would have refused the marriage. And Daario claims he only joined her for her beauty as well. Your right about power and influence, but Daenerys doesn't have any of these when the story beings.
I think you're right for a lot of people, but I think there's some characters in the show that had major influence on Dany that definitely were into her partially due to her looks (but you just heard what my thoughts were of course, so you get it)

@@thegreatpage5912drogo wanted an "exotic beauty" in the sense he wanted someone who would help him bring a prophecy to fruition. Dany had those genes.
Daario joined more on rebellion, from being told what to do. Her beauty made no difference to his companions.
And Jorah was deluded in the fact he thought Dany looked like his ex wife who he was obsessed with, possibly to the point he legit hallucinated seeing her instead of Dany every time he looked at Dany.
Also, its a funny thing, attraction. A person can be so hot at first glance, but more you get to know them, turn uglier by the day, while another person can seem to be lacking in attractive features, only to become extremely hot the more you get to know them. All 3 got to get to know her and find out shes a beautiful person on the inside, whether her beauty on the outside matches or not.
And in that world, you didnt exactly have a choice on who you were going to marry, boy or girl. But plenty grew to love their partners over time even though initial attraction isnt there.

It would also change Cersei's prophecy.
Maggy the Frog told her that a younger more beautiful would cast her down. But in this universe would it be younger less beautiful?
This is important because it leads to Cersei hating Margaery.
Well I think it depends if you feel Cersei's prophecy is referring to Daenerys - but sure, I think it could change the prophecy wording potentially.
Since Cersei's prophecy was already spoken and made well before Dany was born, the prophecy would not be causually affected by Dany's being more ugly and Cersei would most like have been even more convinced that Margaery was the one, since Dany would not be a very believable option in that case
I think she would have less influence on khal drogo. Their love was genuine, but if he’s not physically attracted to her he may not entertain her requests during intimacy never really allowing them to ‘make love’ and bond emotionally.
That would change everything, possibly avoiding an early death of drogo. If he doesn’t die, she doesn’t step into the fire. This could change the context of how/never getting dragons.
I think that's a very fair statement. I mean I think he respected the fire and confidence she had grown to have quite a bit, but her beauty of course played a pretty big factor I think.
If Drogo's death is avoided that's a big one...I mean you're right that he only let the witch treat him because he trusted Dany's opinion. Maybe it'd be different!
@@TheBattProductions And so perhaps Drogo survives, and their son Rhaego is born as well, and then they might try and cross the Narrow Sea with ships, if Dany can somehow convince them to do so... Then it would be the Stallion that mounts the world indeed, like in Dany's dream of the silver and gold lord with bells in his silvery hair.

I think that's fair! I did one based on looks before, like what if Tyrion was normally sized, and it's shocking how much influence I think these things have at times.
A "What if?" I would like to see you cover is what if Tywin let Tyrion remain hand of the king, instead of taking the spot from him when he came to Kingslanding?
I think you made a really interesting point about quentin martell. I think if she was ugly there would be a much better chance that Doran’s plan might work and they would get married. I do however believe that Danny would definitely not get that far though.

What if Robert survived the boar hunt? I mean, pretty simple way for him to survive: he kills the boar before it can gore him. I mean, he's an old hand at this. Even with Lancel strapping an IV of Fermented Grapes to Robert's arm, Robert still lived on after the boar incident for a while, long to get back to Kings Landing, and the drama there.
For House of the Dragon What ifs:
What if: Viserys allowed Daemon to wed rhaynera when he first asked in episode 4?
What if: rhaynera and Laenor were able to have children together?
What if: rhaynera had just wed Harwin strong instead of sleeping around with him later

Both Quenton and Victarion were sent to her on a mission...not becasue she was beautiful. It didnt matter if she was beautiful or not, it was 100% her name and dragons. Quenton was on a mission to gain her hand in marriage, whether she was ugly or not. Victarion was on a mission to get her to marry Euron...while planning on taking her for himself...whether she wss ugly or not. It was all about her name and dragons.

Do a video on what you think about Melisandre's leech spell. Did it really kill Robb, Jeoffrey, and Balon? Or was it just an act on Melisandre's part. Or did she see they would die anyway so she pretended to cast a spell.

1- What if Ser Barristan Selmy failed to rescue king Aerys from Duskendale during the defiance of Duskendale rather than succeed and have Aerys continue his reign?
2- What if Stannis Baratheon remained in King's Landing after Jon Arryn was poisoned instead of departing for Dragonstone?

I think Jon would still be killed in this scenario though, so that's a tough one!
I think some good what if would be
1) what if Aerys didn't have Elia and her children hostage at King's Landing during Robert’s Rebellion, possibly Rhaegar sending them to Dorne before running off with Lyanna. The only reason the Martells stayed in line was because he had them captive there and their murder played a big part in why Robert accepted the Lannisters into his kingdom. Or...
2) Dany's baby hadn't died? Would she still have had walked into Drogo's funeral pyre and have her dragons?
What if Jaime and Cersei never got involved with each other as anything more than regular siblings?

As always, appreciate the work you put into these. Honestly, I've never been onboard with Team Danny. Do I think season 8 did her character justice...no I don't. To properly do her downfall you needed a season 8 for the Battle for the Dawn & a season 9 to work out Danny vs Cersei w/Westeros caught in the middle.
I did have a thought for a future "What if..." if you're still considering options. What if...Jamie Lannister returns to Kings Landing (still minus his sword hand) & he ends up getting forced into a marriage with Sansa Stark? Instantly Jamie is let go from the Kingsguard & takes his place as Tywin's heir...so Tywin has a HUGE investment into the marriage. Cersei the idiot is gonna be SUPER pissed off at Sansa & Jamie. Joffrey is going to do his absolute worst to try and get at Sansa. Jamie has his inner conflict regarding his word to Catelyn Stark to protect Sansa, his love for his sister & the abomination that is his son and his actions to harm his bride. Sansa is thrown into a whole new situation with dire consequences but a possible way to safety & security thru the Lannister name. Toss in Littlefinger, Arya, Brienne & Bronn...you've got a wide variety of variables to account for.

I'm working on newbies.....I know to give the people what they want!
Idk if its a good idea or not but I've had a "What If" in mind for a while: what if Ned himself went to Stormsedge(I think thats what its called)to deliver the message to Stannis himself about Joffery being a bastard and Stannis being the true heir. The way i think it could be explained into a possibility is that at this point he SHOULDN'T trust anyone else in Kings Landing to actually deliver that message and doesnt want the Lannisters to get a hold of it somehow with all their spies and shit lurking. The reason i find it so interesting is I think it extremely likely that he would rally the north and side with Stannis which i think Stannis would 100% be ok with because the only reason he doesnt join forces with Robb is that he's been named King in the North and Ned didnt wanna be "king" of anything, he just wanted to be Warden of the North he enjoyed the peaceful life he was living up there, he didnt even really want to be Hand he only did so because it was his best friend asking and Ned could tell Robert really needed the help. I think theres even a possibility, again possibility, that hed somehow be able to get Stannis and Renly to join forces out of the respect and trust they have in Ned. Imagine both the baratheon armies, plus the whole damn North combining to take Kings Landing, the Lannisters wouldnt have a damn chance, not to mention the fact that I think Ned would even possibly get the Vale to join him aswell because there's no way he's just allowing his family to turn his back on him like that and I think Lysa would understand that they actually will most likely win now because I think a big reason she didnt join the North in the first place was that she didnt think they could truly win the war especially considering the numbers difference at the time was like the North had not even 30000 troops while the Lannisters had around 60000 but here the numbers would be HEAVILY in favor of the North/Baratheon alliance.
Ned tried to leave kingslanding but breaks his leg in the attack with Jaime and when he tries to leave again Sansa tells on him to Cersei leads to his imprisonment.
Lets say none of that happens and he wants to go see Stannis before Robert dies, then hed have to go by sea to Dragonstone. Problem is, Stannis already knows that they are bastards when he was told by Jon Arryn. Ned telling him however that hed have his back would also be treason, because Robert is still king and his best friend, who he was planning on telling before Cersei spoiled the plan by killing him.
Lets say Robert has already died, then yes it would be a great scenario, but again it would be hard to get himself and all of his kids and people out of kingslanding without being stopped by Cersei or Robert (if hes alive). Starks army would still have to get past Tywin also to make it south, so the war would kinda look the same but much better coordinated and would shape out much different.
Also, Stannis would still have to face off Renly in this situation and if he uses magic like he ends up doing then Ned would turn against him i bet. Maybe in this Stannis/Stark alliance the Tyrells go with Stannis because the Starks are with them, but Loras wouldnt be happy lol. So yeah, a lot has to go right but if Stannis makes it to the battle of the blackwater with a stark alliance then i dont think he gets blind sided by Tywin at the end, so he wins.

No lannister raiding the riverlands.
And if the war of the 5 Kings happens I think the riverlands side with the lannisters because they would have no north connection so no reason to side with them and it would be easier to hold off the north than the lannisters as the lannisters would border them in the south and west while the north can be contained at the twins even if robb conqueror's the twins the north would be exhausted as the twins are like the 4th hardest castle to take thus an exhausted northern army vs fresh west river and reach army's plus greyjoy attacking north.
@@imember7375 Well my biggest issue is I don't know if the Tullys join Robert in the Rebellion if the Starks aren't married to Catelyn - so I don't know if they even make it to the War of the Five Kings if Ned marries Ashara!

@TheBattProductions I was wondering if you ever thought of this.... WHAT IF- Jon found out he was a Targaryen shortly before he met with Daenerys. I always enjoyed the dialogue from their 1st meeting but i wondered how would Dany react if Jon told her at 1st meeting they were kin? Would Jon appeal to that in order to get her to come North against the White Walkers? Since at this point Dany is not far gone would she be open to working with Jon or see him as a threat. If Jon knew when he was crowned King of the North would Sansa push him to claim the Iron Throne? (I dont think Jon would assert a claim but Sansa and the Northern Lords may influence. Basically Jon finds out he is a Targaryen earlier but late enough where he is still Jon Snow. Tell me what you think and if it works for a video.

@@bunnybard yeah that does change everything lol depends on if Cersei sends Sansa back (arya already on her own but would likely go with Ned to the wall still) which I think they'd keep her as an incentive to not side with Stannis against her. Makes the North stay out of the war. Battle of the Black water would now have Tywins full power against Stannis' full power, but considering in this scenario Tyrion wouldn't be hand of the King (Tywins wouldn't have to send a substitute since he wouldn't be fighting a war) then the wildfire trick and the chain would never get invented. So Stannis' army likely defeats the Lannisters and if R+L=J then Jon learns why Ned was waiting for him to say his vows lol. Also Neds advice would have been invaluable at the wall and likely Jeor doesn't end up dying bc of Ned, and if so Ned would have been Lord Commander if he survived last him. Also Ned learning of the threats beyond the wall would be taken MUCH more seriously and at least the whole North would rally against the others and wildlings. It's a fun question lol

@@bunnybard yeah 😂 it's definitely one of those "why didn't you let this happen George!" moments. I think in this scenario the plot would have wrapped up really quickly and the Others would have been a much lesser threat since they are being addressed in this fake timeline. Dany would have had a much harder time than I think she will since Westeros would have saved a lot from the war ending much faster. I think George had to do it this way bc then the books would have been much less. Like you said about the army of dead, I'm still curious about that. I wonder if the Others are really as powerful as to worry about them like we do in the real timeline. Also with a United Westeros, Stannis will definitely go to fight the Others and so that would be a tough situation for the Others 😂💀 Dany would be a curve ball likely showing up while they are fighting

I think the Cersei dying after the Maggy the Frog would be interesting...not sure how I'd lay that out in my mind, but I think it would be a really fun thought experiment regardless.

What if daenerys lose control of her dragons and they escape her and live as wild beast?
My guess is that various people with (real or supposed) targaryan (or valyrian) blood (ie, people who have one of Aegon IV's bastards in their family tree) would have tried to claim them, with many of them ending up as dragon snacks.
What if Cersei doesn't pick the mountain as her champion for Tyrion's trial, but Meryn Trant?
Oberyn probably would not fight ser Trant, he has no revenge to take from him.
If Jorah is not in love with Dany, he would probably not stop the assassin wine merchant in season 1, so she would most likely actually die very early in the story.

Can I suggest you go and fix your What If: Joffery kills Arya? Video. You appear to have cut the section where Joffery is killed, so it doesn't make sense. I'm assuming Arya wargs on death into Nymeria and kills Joff?
There is an important thing to consider, "ugly" can mean very different things depending on who you ask and the context.
Some people call people ugly if they are not as attractive as a more attractive person, for example, I'd rate Daenerys the character as less beautiful than Amelia Clarke the actress without the hair and makeup, so someone may say compared to Amelia Daenerys is ugly, but she is still extremely beautiful, you could compair her to a somewhat less beautiful woman like former British Prime Minister Theresa May, whose beauty has been compared to that of Emperor Palpatine as seen in Return of the Jedi, she could also be called ugly with slightly more justification than Daenerys, she is slightly older than Emilia, only by 3 decades.
That's true that there are different versions of ugly, but I suppose I'm just saying straight up ugly in appearance. I mean I used a photo of roughly what I mean, but you can use your imagination...not burned or scarred, but just not beautiful.

Kindof a weird one but I think it could have some big changes, what if Tywin knew about Jaime and Cersei hooking up from the beginning? I could see this eventually leading to Cersei either never cheating on Robert or at least cheating on him with someone not related to her
I think that's an interesting one...I mean it seems Tywin kind of knew about the rumors for a while, but if they were KIDS...hmmm...
I honestly don't know what would change. I mean I guess he'd send one of them away faster, but they did get split up kind of early (possibly by design, right).
If Tywin knew about this, he may try to marry Jamie or Cersei or both as quickly as possible. This means that Jamie couldn't be taken in as a Kingsguard, which would massively change Westerosi history, with the biggest one of course being the largest city in Westeros going up in place. Also, if Cersei was married off early, then that means she won't be able to marry Robert at the end of Robert's Rebellion
I tend to listen to the opinions of animals before peoples’. Dragons are known to have affection for their friends and wrath for people with bad motives and intentions. Her dragons adored her: that’s a whole lot of Brownie points. That aside, she was thought to be the last daughter of the Targaryen line, royalty, and people will go for that, looks or no. It’s said that Cleopatra wasn’t considered beautiful; also, Marilyn Monroe would be heckled as fat nowadays. What does that tell you?
I'm not really sure what this tells me. I think you're saying because she's important, people would follow her anyway. I'm not sure that's the case considering there was a point or two in time when she was pretty vulnerable and actively called a Beggar Queen.

It's a great question - I can't say I'm sure that he would. He may let her succumb instantly to that. I know Barristan wouldn't, but that would come later of course.

I think in that case without any assistance from Daenerys' army, the White Walkers win in the North(after a longer battle due to needing to circumnavigate or find a way to breach the Wall) while Dorne and the Reach are in open revolt against Cersei.

Honestly, it would make no difference. In fact, we technically have no clue she is beautiful. Something to think about: Elizabeth I was constantly told she was beautiful, despite small pox scares all over and aging pretty bad (possibly from lead poisoning). Her makeup she wore looks like todays clown makeup to cover up the scars, and IS NOT considered beautiful to most today. But.. who in their right mind is going to tell a Queen shes ugly? Not beautiful? No one. Thats who. Its literally the same with Dany if you think about it. Shes told shes beautiful by everyone...but shes also a princess who becomes more powerful by the day, especially after the birth of the dragons.
Which brings up my main point to all of this: looks didnt matter in the books, nor real life history in the past, when it came to beauty. Power, status, and money were what made one attractive. While she starts off with nothing at first, she IS a princess, a Targaryen princess, and that status alone makes her extremely attractive to every ambitious man out there. And the more power and wealth she gains, the more attractive she looks to those ambitious men.
So bottom line, nothing changes. At all. Also keep in mind most average looking girls will find a couple guys who claim they are the most beautiful. Im one of these girls currently with one of these delusional guys. And i dont even think im average. Try lower. Point is of that, the few that are close to her, that do genuinelly find her beautiful, could also just be the few who find her attractive lol, nothing more.
Im not saying shes ugly, though. Im just saying looks didnt actually matter in this, and we dont actually know if she is beautiful, or if everyone is just saying it because shes a Targaryen princess of extremly high status. She sounds like she is, and id say Emilia Clark is beautiful, but everyone has their own tastes, and we dont actually know from the books.
Keep in mind, too, everyone that DOES propose to her only does so because they literally want what she has...her dragons, wealth, and most of all...status.
Evan Khal drogo married her for what she has lol: her Valyrian genes. He was trying to sire the prince that will mount the world. He needed those genes for it. Otherwise...hed probably marry one of his own. Lets not forget racism was part of the story, too, and the Dothraki didnt think kindly of pale men. They saw women outside their own race race and culture as nothing more than naughty slaves. And worse for women with white hair. In the show, they literally say she must be a witch because of her hair color and to kill her. Think of Melisandre and Davos. She wasnt ugly, but didnt mean Davos found her attractive at all because he saw her as a source of evil. Very similar for Dothrakis and anyone who practices magic.
One more thing to keep in mind, she literally loses her hair in the pyre in the books. Shes bald when she walks out of the funeral pyre. While some may find a bald girl attractive, most wont feel the same when the girl with long hair theyre attracted to suddenly goes bald. Not to mention...it starts to grow back. And for real...theres GOING to be an ugly stage of that regrowth, it cant be avoided.
This shows that Jorahs attraction to Dany isnt based on her actually being beautiful, but the fact she looks like a girl he was infatuated with. It shows that regardless if she is actually beautiful or ugly in the books, he would still find her attractive to HIS standards. Again...even average looking girls have stalkers. Even "ugly" girls gain stalkers. And creepy stalkers, at that, as Jorah technically is.
I lied. One more. Jorah wasnt in love with Dany because of her beauty. He was in love with her because she looked like his ex wife, who he was infatuated with. Again...for all we know, his ex wife was only beautiful to him and a handful of other people.
Viserys Targaryen: Though he is often cruel to her, Viserys is well aware of Daenerys's beauty and sees it as a tool to regain the throne by marrying her off.
Khal Drogo: He chooses her to be his queen (Khaleesi) largely because of her beauty.
Jorah Mormont: Jorah frequently admires her beauty and eventually falls in love with her.
Xaro Xhoan Daxos: In Qarth, Xaro proposes to Daenerys multiple times, captivated by her beauty and dragons.
Quentyn Martell: Though he's on a mission to seek a strategic marriage with Daenerys, he too notices her beauty when he meets her.
Tyrion Lannister: When he finally meets her, he remarks on her beauty in his internal thoughts.
Jon Snow: In the TV series "Game of Thrones," there's a romantic relationship between Jon and Daenerys. While the books have not yet explored this relationship in detail (as of my last update in January 2022), Jon's perspective on Daenerys in the upcoming books might reflect a similar sentiment.

1.She is beautiful lol but i dont think that is why she gets what she earns, she earned them. She was helped by people along the way though and those people think she is beautiful, because she is. I think most would not be so open to her if she wasnt, but once she has her dragons and such i dont think it makes much difference, but me personally i dont think she ever makes it to her dragons if shes an ugly bat lmao.
2.also, jorah was already infatuated with her before the pyre and thought she was a god at the point of her being bald lol
3.Khal Drogo had other Valyrian options if it was just about the genes, he literally has all of Lys to choose from
4.if he thought she was ugly and chose her anyways, he likely wouldnt have fallen in love with her,
5.and so wouldnt have went on that war campaign for her maybe but i still think he would,
6.and Jorah wouldnt have saved her from that wine merchant likely,
7. and Jorah probably wouldnt have taken her from the tent risking his life against blood riders.
8. Also Drogo likely wouldnt have given dany the confidence to do things like save the witch,
9. and then wouldnt have used the witches "medicine" to poison him, so he never dies likely and no dragons.
10. Jorah often refers to Lynesse's beauty as the reason he was so infatuated with her also, and there's nothing to suggest he was wrong about her beauty
11. drogo would not have had the hardest orgasm of his life beneath the stars if she was ugly, which would mean they never develop the deep bond they did and he wouldnt have listened to her against everyone else when it came to letting her claim every women slave, taking the witches medicine, or being so adamant about destroying westeros after the assassination attempt
