The Entire Life Of Ser Jorah Mormont
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 сер 2024
- A character that i had such an overwhelming and emotionally positive response to was Ser Jorah Mormont. Ser Jorah, despite his unfavourable position in the first novel, really does go on to display an incredible level of loyalty to Daenerys Targaryen which makes his story that more enjoyable to tell as he really became one of my favourite characters. In today’s video, I’m going to take you through the entire life of Jorah, from his early days on Bear Island to his final moments during the battle of Winterfell..Welcome to Game of Thronelore, please enjoy the life of Ser Jorah Mormont.

Fun fact: Jorah got his title 'the andal' from the dothraki, despite him being from the north and thus not an andal at all. The dothraki just call anyone from westoros 'andals.'
Which is funny because aren’t the andals from essos like the Dothraki
@@antoniobrooks1113 Dothraki aren't big on history they can't steal or burn turns out
What is fun
@@limedog2609 That make sense, kind of like how a lot of people in our real world called every asian person Chinese. Or how a lot of Americans call any person of latin origins Mexican.
Still sounds fucking cool though doesn't it
"You are Jorah the Andal"
*Fuck yeah I am*
He was kind of like a poor man's, hard luck version of Ned Stark. Exiled and estranged from his house, forced to live as a nomad until he found a sense of purpose again. Served with honor and represented his house proudly.
I love Jorah Mormont as a character. Here we stand.
ny_kia31 and to think, house Mormont would’ve survived if lyanna had not been stubborn and listened to him
U mean Jon snow lol they’re arc is very similar which is why he ends up with Jorah’s sword
His death scene had me sobbing the same way as Khalisse.
Sadly, one of the only arks in the tv show that was completed right
Hasel yep
Hasel Theon?
Person 1 theon’s ark was the best
We dont know how he ended in the books
MrConredsX i Said only the tv show
When Dany ordered him to find a cure and return, my heart broke with joy!
He went and founded the Umbrella Corporation
*"Rhaegar valiantly, Rhaegar fought nobly, and Rhaegar died."*
Worse fates.
Fought valiantly**
😭😭😭 jorah is my absolute favorite character!! yes thank you for this video
Jorah is my favourite character . I was really hoping he was going to be the Azor Ahai that no one expected. I cried my eyes out in his final episode :(
i don't know why, but he was my favorite character
Jorah is my personal favorite character along with Bronn. Jorah probably has the best character arc in all of thrones and his death was actually gut wrenching.
Grieves over her "friend"
Ow...he can't catch a break.
he was like 3 times her age, bald, ugly and hairy. Also tried to get her assassinated.
@@jennaleclaire2654 @_@ We don't talk about the assassination attempt.
@@DaNationKingGaming Why not? I love flawed characters. Show Jorah was too golden boy for me. Plus that actor is quite handsome. The show is too hamfisted with the "good people" vs "bad people" shit.
They made Tyrion blander and more likable too - in the books he's still a "good" character to me, but he kills Shae out of pure anger, not because she tried to kill him first like the show did. In the show they also made Shae a real girlfriend where in the books it's very clear that she's just a whore. Tyrion literally made Bronn kidnap her, told her that he'd pay her well to fuck him only, and then deluded himself into thinking it was love. When he realizes all along that he's been a fool, anger takes over. It's awful, and the reader sympathizes with Tyrion to an extent (the only reason he's so starved for love is because of his abusive upbringing and his father's lies) but it makes him more interesting to have these imperfect and dark moments. It makes him real.
@@jennaleclaire2654 True, if I were to ever write a novel or had the opportunity to write a show I'd do the same with good vs evil only to twist the story at the near end and make the good guys "evil" in a way. Good guys join a coalition to wipe out an enemy faction, two more factions team up after that to take the coalition out but end up losing in the end then our good guys leave the coalition to take over their former allies territories and succeed but on the bodies of their former friends, enemies and civilians that got caught up in the crossfire that makes our "good guys" reflect on their choices up to that point because they need resources and power. Something like that on a similar scale to how GoT did it.
Jorah Mormont is, always was and always will be my absolute favorite character.
He's a amazing character, and I'm almost done with Clash of Kings. I love him even more honestly.
unpopular opinion: Ser Jorah is actually more attractive than Jon or Drogo
yeah hes cute
I agree. I loved Jorah.
He looked like a Calvin Klein model when he was in his prime at 21 years old. That's why he's still so fine in his 60s. Good genes.
Ser Jorah Mormont The Andal, Lord of Bear Island and king of bears, Loyal Queens guard, Protector of the Dragon, Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, Hero of Pyke, Gladiator champion of Meereen, the cured, wielder of Long Claw and Heartsbane ,slayer of dead and the last Bear
Never got the andal bit as he was a first man from the north, but he never minded being called an andal
cameron artima it’s what the Dothraki called him as they think everyone from Westeros is an Andal
@@mryder8509 I know
@@mryder8509 it just frustrated me that he never tried to correct anyone
cameron artima Dothraki really aren’t ones you want to correct, That and he felt so ashamed of what he did he felt like he didn’t deserve to be called a first man as he really was the Black Bear of the Mormonts
One of the truest examples of a true knight of Westeros. Rest In Peace, Ser Jorah Mormont 🐻❄️⚔️‼️
My absolute favorite character !! Loyal to the last breath because he loved her...
Jorah, Gendry, and Davos were some of my favorites!
Omg saaaame
The death of Jorah was one of the three times I cried in the series.
When were the other two times?
@@SurfergirlKH The world may never know.
Me too. The other times were Hodor, Theon and Grenn. People keep forgetting Grenn.
Awesome job dean! Always love your game of thrones videos
He was my favorite character. I was sorry to see him die. ❤
Is it just me or is he very handsome!🤩
No he is in a strange way😍
He is gorgeous
I'm a hedro. Man and he is fuking striking
Yes he is.
Very!
Some people to do this series on -
Jon Snow
Arthur Dayne
Jaime Lannister
Ser Jorah has been my absolute favourite from the beginning. Watching him die, together with the amazing preformance from Emilia Clarke, broke my heart and had me grieving for days.
It's also interesting to note how incredibly different book!Jorah is from show!Jorah. There's no doubt about it that D&D's version of Jorah is a lot less cocky and way more likeable. Both still remain very interesting characters nonetheless.
Great video, enjoyed it a lot :)
I'm looking foreward to your next one (either here or on Harry Potter Folklore)
Show Jorah is also handsome. Book Jorah is balding, ugly, and hairy.
Jorah, too, is my favorite character in GOT. Excellent representation in this video. Your comment on supporting your site if only a person can afford it, struck me as you are a person of great character. Long may your channel live, sir!
Jorah was definitely one of the few things keeping daenearys sane and when he died she killed everyone
One of my favorite GOT characters. Jorah is a story of redemption .
The most underrated character 🤧
ALSO, great video dude! Much respect! And salute to your hard work.
Was a good character but I couldn't get over the Friendzone memes... Like the arena battle where people were saying Jorah was literally fighting his way out the friendzone lol
I think the show made him too handsome and likeable...book Jorah is kind of a snake, and also really ugly and three times Dany's age.
@@jennaleclaire2654 exactlyyyyyyyy that’s why I didn’t feel bad abt Dany not liking him back he’s literally way older than her
House Stark, Sandor Clegane, Bienne of Tarth, and Jorah Mormont made that series LIVE for so many of us.
Emilia Clarke's finest moment in the whole series is Jorah's death scene. It's really the first time she gets to show Dany expressing a completely raw emotion.
Beautifully done. We need more of this. Jarrah was always a favorite of mine
His death just pissed me off, one of my favorites
A man of honour ser JORAH ✨He was a wonderful man forever 💯❤️ and one of my favourite character.
Always a hightower causing grief!
I see so much of myself in this character. This is my favorite video and literally cried when he died.
Even though he is a fictional character from a tv show that his based on a book, I would love to meet this man ❤️
As much as I loved the series and books, deep down, Jorah is my favorite.
Ser Jorah was my favourite he had so much bad luck in love his death was so emotional.juroh loved denearys
Jorah is one of my favorites as well. Barristan Selmy was too badass to die the way he did.
He was such an admirable character. That's probably why it was hard to buy him as a bad guy in Resident Evil
I still get upset seeing jorah fight until his last I mean what a true loyal knight for a moment he was the greatest the world had seen he really did honour his family if not them then his queen
Outstanding. You're my favorite Harry Potter show because your dedication to the universe really shows there. This channel is equally as good.
I can't lie, I cried my eyes out after he died. Like...hiccupping crying. He and Theon in one episode was too much....
Me too lol Jorah was my favorite and Theon went out like a warrior
I command you to find a cure, to heal yourself, so you can return to my service...
One of my fav parts in GOT... beautiful..
I have never choked up as much in any other of your vids. Well done! 😥😥💙
thanks Erin, he's literally my favourite character..
Some heroes dont get the girl, some just saves them.
Great character & actor to put tbis video together. Well Done surely!!!
"Jorah the Andal" makes me laugh because House Mormont is of the North, where people are mostly descended from the First Men lol
Jorah is one of my favorite characters!
Jorah, after making a mistake with his second wife, and losing his honor, spent the rest of his life with great honor.
Theon and Jorah, fantastic characters who had great conclusions to their stories
Nice video as always 👌👌👌👌 please keep up the uploading 😊 great content 💯
Well Done! Like all your other stories
Most friendly man in got
Um, Davos!
Ive had to watch this over and over because i keep getting interrupted, they dont want this man to get his flowers 🌺
Heartbroken warrior... so sad.
Please do a video about Lady Olenna :)
Finally finished game of thrones now i can binge this channel like i binged you harry potter one!
Do the life of melisandre!
Ser friend zone will always be remembered
my favorite character of all time
Can you do a video about lyanna mormont?
Very well done. Thank you
The amount of knowledge of this series is very impressive that u have. Dean thank u. How much time do u spend (research) on a video?
Jorah lucky to miss out on the battle for kings landing.
I planned on purchasing the "Game of Thrones" blu ray boxed set season 1-8... Seeing your videos, I don't have to purchase the set, I just have to subscribe to you, to which I just did. THANKS TO YOU!
YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!
Damn that was a tough episode to watch
Did you just say Yai Tai to Yi Ti. Arristan to Barristan and Daario Naris to Daario Naharis.😂😂😂
I was like 😟
Axel Kvåli He also mispronounces Cersei (Cerzay) 🙄
Excellent. Jorah was one of my favorites. Looking back, when Daenerys and Jorah were together, she made very good decisions however, when they were separated, Daenerys made terrible choices; I always wondered if there was something to that...
"Here we stand"
A quick point, to remind everyone of the brilliance of GRRM. Remember how a Hightower ultimately broke Jorah and caused him to flee Westeros? Well without the Hightower’s, who built the Citadel, he would not have access to Sam’s healing arts that cured him of Grayscale. I liked that little twist. Of course he may not have contracted the disease but who’s to say?
Love your videos
What was the saddest death for you from GoT? mine was Danny
Damn, it's almost like book Jorah and show Jorah are two different characters sometimes.
Do one of Jaime Lannister. Plz
He and Davos were my favorite characters from the series.
Wil Jorah actually survive in the books? I haven't watched the show. only clips, but when I watched him die in one of the video compilations on here about his life, I was bawling!
Jorah Morning. Lord of the Simps, but an honorable and loyal Simp.
I think she snapped because she lost her closest person to her
Even Drogo mourned his death when he came down.
Drogo was dead
That was a better story than Brans story Tyrion.
The saddest character. RIP lord friendzone
He who makes a beast out of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man🪶☘️
Khalisi Please!!!!! 😊 Jorah was always begging 😊
Poor guy was the definition of 'friend zoned'. After redeeming himself I wish Dany had simply taken him instead of her half-brother...yuck. Little wonder 'you flipped a coin with Targaryens'.
Bruh finally been waiting for some lore goodness
Please make some more videos!
Stone crows? Okay I got something mixed up here because the people that captured Tyrion and Bronn one of them referred to himself as a stone Crow so I guess that dude came from that group and joined up with those sellswords?
The people who make these types of videos have an outlook on life i can hope to begin to understand
I can’t help but like Jorah, I don’t think anyone can because he really was dedicated and loyal to Dany to the very end and Dany trusted him more than anyone. But everyone saying “omg I hate how she leaded him on” or “she friend zoned him” keep in mind she was a young teen when she met him and he was already a full grown man. That dynamic was always weird to me. In the books, she’s 15 when he’s attracted to her. He was also at once a slave trader and she had always resented that.
I struggle to call Jorah's views towards Daenerys purely "LOYAL"... Its more like part love, part lust, part loyalty, and (if my personal theory is correct) part magic-induced fanaticism.
Love these videos
The homie Jack Taylor
Do one about king Jaehaerys I!
This is fantastic
I told a close friend of mine that I'm the Jorah to her Danny. She understandably teared up a little.
Then what happened
@@Zachattack1212 she slapped him for no reason, called him her friend and trotted off into the horizon with three geckos.
This was great
House mormont is now truly gone
Garren Engel but never Forgotten
@@mryder8509 100 years and it will be 🤷🏽♂️
Thank you !
Was loyal and brave till the very end, tragic character
All I see is Mycroft Holmes. All I see.
It sucks that jorah and theon were my favorite characters and they died in the same episode:(
