Yes first hand exploring earth's newest ground 👍
Roman, hoped that a walkable lava cave existed after all the eruptions. Thanks for showing us the lava tub!
I remember day two videos. I remember all your hikes, the roar of the volcano from theater hill and the flooding of the valley. Of al the recent volcanoes, this one was the most exciting.
Fabulous view.! Thanks Roman 👏💞
Yes this is the exploring I would like to see more of.☝️Edit
It still looks soft ❗
Roman on the scene!
Wow, spectacular scenery my friend 🔥🔥
Do be careful😊❤❤
Super cool bro!! Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
Very nice update. Thanks
A very interesting look at a surreal landscape!
Roman hunting for the worm people who live in the tubes. 😊
Wow...that is really beautiful. Also this is exactly why people should stay off of fresh lava...those crusts can be quite thin...and the lava underneath can be still quite fluid.
That lava has cooled for almost two years now?
Yes, 2,5 yrs
The lava is not fluid but still hot deeper under the surface (the core of the ~100m deep filled Geldingadalur valley wont cool down for years to come). The biggest concern I would have here would be accumulated gases such as CO2. You can clearly see that the lava field is still degassing.
@@Vulcano7965I'm sorry, I wasn't clear...while the vent was still erupting, lava is still flowing in lava tubes...and the roof over the lava tubes can be deceptively thin. What appears to be solid ground is not. I have seen videos of volcanologists walking on fairly fresh lava fields in Hawaii, carrying a rod or pipe to continuosly test the surfaces in front of them before walking on them.
Rocks are good insulators, so thick lava flows cool rather slowly.
Lava lakes can take decades or even hundreds of years to completely cool down.
And then you have geothermal fumaroles at the Eldvörp crater row, supposedly also supported by the heat of the 13th century eruption there (or rather the intrusions/feeder dikes).
Wow ❤
Be Careful 🙏 You are turning into Big Explorer! Still Swarming at Fagdralsfjall off and on.......
Grindavik had a 1.6,1.2,1.0 and Hagafell 1.1.
Wow! Was it still warm?
Yes, its still warm, steaming heat in many places
Interesting but not sure how safe yet? Too Soon.
It's all cracked because you guys couldn't wait and had to walk all over it ;(
Booo hooo
Nobody walked there...we were the first:)
It's cracked because it's old
