the villages of Europe and England are something that really drives me to have a career in those countries so i can experience it, not as a tourist, but as someone who lives there
I can relate to you. Those walls owned with history of the past, rich in culture makes me to be there too at all time exploring the beauty hidden in the villages. I can even imagine the years of mid 1800s where those roads were flooded with people and peaceful scenery of how good and better those days were.
As an American, it just seems so awesome to me that you guys live with these deep, deep layers of history woven into your communities like this. There are probably dozens of houses in this neighborhood older than the United States.
Most houses where I live were built in the 1800s, apart from the bungalows (idk if you have those in the USA) and I live in a major city. slightly outside my area are the 1970s council houses in the rougher areas as well as apartments in the city Center.
My father was born here, went to school here, his parents, sisters and brother are buried here…and so to rest be will be too, from Australia we will send some of his ashes…back to where he belongs. Lacock lives on in our hearts 🙏🏻❤️

England has so much to be proud and grateful for. My favorite country because of their love of their history and regard for their architecture. They tear things down after a mere few years. Such solid people.
I don’t know why I am watching this in awe since I live in a similar village about an hour away and grew up hunting for fairies in streams and brooks 😂 …but it’s probably because you captured the sleepy atmosphere and the blue sky and the old, natural feeling of the area so perfectly.

“The old England still exists”…..what a beautiful thought! It stirs my imagination to pass by these old houses and barns and wonder about the llives people lived here. I would love to have had just a peek beyond one of those old closed doors. It was a mystical time between night and day, some of porch and street lights were still lit. I could see it had been chilly night, and one house had smake coming from a chimney. Someone was up early, had kindled a fire to take the chill off the room. Was it a kitchen, I hope? Was the kettle on for breakfast? I have always loved England and the stories and histories about England. Thank you for your comment and reminder that old England survives. Running in the early morning of autumn, walking past every little streets on the way to school, went for a walk in the countryside and in the Lake District, the smell of fresh air, the odor, the cool and dry weather, the sound, the sunshine, etc. Everything came back to me after hearing and watching your video. In '91 my wife and I took a motoring tour of Britain (more than 2,200 miles round-trip). From Bognor Regis we made our way to Winchester and then Salisbury to visit the cathedrals and then, of course, along to Stonehenge. We had planned to next visit Bath but enroute we noted a road sign to Lacock marked "tourist attraction" and so drove the short distance spending a couple of hours walking through the lanes and streets. We were thankful to have seen such a charming place and the significant number of houses and other structures dating back to the 16th and 17th C. We did not see nearly so many vehicles in the town as is shown in the video.
Went to the UK in February, now im lying in bed thinking about going back. As this video gave me pure goosebumps Im just amazed by the beauty of England and the countryside itself. At least this motivates me and it makes getting up for school a bit lighter in the morning, whilst Im bearing the though of buying two plane tickets for Stansted. To be able to see this all once again, oh what would I give. The dream of coming to live there is completely in range of my capabilities.
If the cars were not in the picture, I would have thought it's mideaval England. What a contrast from Singapore 🇸🇬 . This place is so beautiful and untouched
I had a two year tour in England while in the Air Force. Extended it for another year. Still wasn't enough time. Every break I had I explored England, and feel I barely scratched the surface. Every turn there is something new, historic and beautiful. Wonderful place. Being of English heritage, I felt I had come home. After 40 years, I still miss it.
Gosh what a great comment. I hope the walk brought back some nice memories. A lot must have changed in those years gone, but also looking at some of these buildings nothing much has changed either. I had a friend once in the RAF who was stationed around Yatesbury. It has long been demolished.
Oh my goodness, this village is so charming, and beautiful! I love how peaceful this walk was. Listening to just nature, the birds, and the occasional walkers/joggers. The water sounds were so soothing. If I ever came to England, I would definitely visit here. Saved to my Favorites for sure.
Thank you so much! It is a lovely place to visit. It can get busy at times in the summer. Morning or evening are good if you like a quieter experience.
Greetings from Ukraine! I enjoy watching this video. It really helps me to feel less stressed during the air raid alert when an only sound which we hear is a horrible howling of sirens. Thank you for these positive emotions!
So many fond memories of Lacock while watching this. My grandmother's family came from here, and she met my grandfather while working as maid and gardener, respectively, at the Abbey. They lived in the Lodge. I had cousins living in the corner house with the blue door, opposite the Red Lion pub, another further up the High St, by the school, and another halfway down East St next to the pre-school/chapel. Used to bring her back to the village for a family get-together every year on her birthday, into her 90s. Happy days.
That sounds lovely Sylviane, I don't know anyone in the village but if I am ever there again and at the Abbey I will mention your story. Best wishes, Adam
I am working from home quite often ("Doing Home Office") and I watch your videos besides work - Love to work like that. It's a little like working in nature :-)
This reminds me of my grandfather. He had the most amazing self-built little orchard in his backyard full of strawberries, blackberries and other fruits. You could hear all the life inside of it buzzing and whirring around as you searched for a strawberry that was ready--biting into it as if it were meant for you. Closest to heaven I think I've experienced.

It's awesome to hear you had such a good time!! Can't wait to have you back with us :)

This makes me want to come home. Having lived in Australia for over a decade......... I miss this so much.
If the cars were not in the picture, I would have thought it's mideaval England. What a contrast from Singapore 🇸🇬 . This place is so beautiful and untouched
It is lovely and would be even more so without the cars. I can imagine it is quite different from Singapore
It has long been demolished.
you wouldn't recognise the place now :( covid and back gov decissions are wrecking the place, I hope she recovers once we're all gone
Come back and visit us, we'd love to have you! 🏴❤🇺🇸

@@DA-db9bi I don't know who told you that but it's straight up not true lol
This is amazing. It’s breathtakingly beautiful and scenic. I really have a thing for UK countrysides I think. Thank you for sharing
If this was my village, I’d never go to the city or anywhere in the world! This is just beautifully mind pleasing. I wish I could visit someday!
Maybe one day! Thank you for watching.
You say that but you just get used to it and it just becomes second nature..
Greetings from Ukraine! I enjoy watching this video. It really helps me to feel less stressed during the air raid alert when an only sound which we hear is a horrible howling of sirens. Thank you for these positive emotions!
Are things calming down over there at all? We don't hear about it on the news as much in America these days.

What a lovely place. So clean and pleasant. So calm and I love the natural sound of nature.
It was a lovely morning walk and all the wildlife too 😊
So many fond memories of Lacock while watching this.
That’s what she said
@@emu8435 Well then she probably loves Lacock
as an Indonesian, this is absolutely magical. I wish I can visit Lacock one day
Thankyou. A wonderful reminder as my wife andI left Melksham 25 years ago and often visited Lacock.
My pleasure
This is the most beautiful village i've ever seen in my life. Natures beauty cant get enough of it😍😍😍😍😍😍
It really is a lovely place. Quite unique 😊😊
@@everywhereisimagined yes it is... 😍❣️
I think that is one of my favourite comments. Thank you for sharing.

Absolutely beautiful 😍 Reminds me of a fairytale 💜💕 Can’t wait to visit England one day 🏴
Keep away from cities and hire a car to go off the main roads. You won’t be disappointed
The beauty and continuity of English history. In places like Lacock, you could be walking along a narrow path between trees that has been in use by local people for hundreds if not thousands of years.

My compliments on the excellent (and steady) videography with nature sounds instead of a music soundtrack.
Marvellous place. It brings me sweet memories of my childhood, lovely moments with my dad, my grandparents, cousins❤️
Thank you so much for this beautiful video.
Thank you for watching and so nice to know that it brought back some lovely memories 😊
So peaceful and serene. The houses have some medieval touch on their walls . I wish I could visit there and relax myself .
It is very quiet in the morning and does get busier with tourists during the day, which is good for the community
Your looking back in time..
Thank you for sharing a nice walking tour video with views of the city and nature.
During WW11 we lived in Lacock manor with the Miss Biinney's . Had a walled garden and used to get peaches from the tree. that led to a lane and the Blacksmiths it was a great time for us went to school in Lacock abbey
How fascinating. What an experience it must have been during such times
