One of my biggest fears is that after buying a dozen ships, when the PU launches I'll just get in the Reclaimer and never come out.

The most fantastic thing about this game is that it's being made by people who ACTUALLY want to live in it.
I have never seen so much detail that honestly didn't need to be put into a game be put into a game SOLELY because it would make sense for the universe and lore.

I never understood the Eejis crowd. It's like they forgot there's an A in the front. I say Aygis though instead of Ayjis.
Vile Jester which isn't in the modern English language. There's no reason to complicate it. The simpler the better.
Aegis, although I use a hard G like Gum or Gift, if there's an A at the beginning with a vowel, there's a standard approach to it.
I only ever hear the Eejis or Ayjis. In that, the first letter takes precedence.
Brian Its a greek word lol. This is how you pronounce it correctly. 😂
I know, but 99+% of us aren't Greek. And the majority of us can't pronounce the Siamese-attached at the head A and E properly. Not to mention it's not part of the international English vernacular so the next logical approach is to simplify it and use a practical annunciation. Therefore the A takes precedence in which the E runs accent to the G which people generally pronounce with a soft G as in J, then the rest is standard.

Christian Djurberg That it is supposed to be a salvaging ship. Sturdy, but not a fighter. Old industrial look inside. Not so clean as other Aegis ships. They drew a lot of inspiration from the Alien Nostromo ship. And it will have huge gripping arms and player controlled drones that can help with the salvaging work.

I love that Star Citizen's ships look like the concept art when it's completed, looks amazing.

The Hammerhead is pretty cool, but you'd think the turrets would be tiered, rather than in-line, so they can see behind and in front rather than being occluded by the other turret. It just makes more sense if you want to put more fire on the target.

I wholeheartedly disagree. As much as I love Star Citizen and high-SF stuff, I would love for more producers and developers to actually learn what's realistically possible and USE those outlines to their adavantage instead of constantly denying science and realism (physics for example) because "it's not fun".

Take this confirmation with a grain of salt, though. CIG does have a poor trackrecord with such promises. Tempered expectations and all that. Still, it would be very nice to finally see SQ42.
Hans Havelaar Oh, don't i know it. It's interesting because I'm more certain that they'll show it since i know that THEY know that they have a poor track record with these promises. For them to seem so certain coupled with how much everyone is clamoring for info about that and how pissed everyone was last year... It makes me very optimistic that they will successfully show something (and it'll probably be awesome), because the alternative would be catastrophic.
Fair enough. I still won't believe it before I see it though, because I know I'll like the suprise better than the dissapointment otherwise.

The hammerhead sound like a flak boat. If the Polaris is a anti-capital corvette then the hammerhear is a anti-fighter/bomber corvette.

Yet not labelled a corvette :) The same way Disco confirmed the Carrack isnt a capital ship no matter its new size. This is a good thing because capital ships will be extremely expensive to use, as of discos reply. A Large labled ship, not so much.

Hearing the team talk about the design process of the ships is really interesting, they are definitely taking a very logical approach to functionality, I just hope that we get more than a ship _ I'm excited to see how well the crew AI etc are done. It's one thing having a mess hall but it's got to have a crew with some hustle and bustle and banter to really make it come alive. That's where the real challenge lies in my opinion but so far they are 100% nailing it.

Yesterday when I was looking at the leaked picture of the new ship I thought it looked just like a mix between a great white and a hammerhead shark, not just the front but the whole body. Just goes to show how fitting the name is and how much thought and detail goes into the planning of the ships.

The Aegis Hammerhead looks awesome! Finally a ship with proper turret coverage that doesn't get obstructed everywhere and looks like it will be a perfect patrol/escort ship. It's basically the Messer-era Aegis 'Corvette' that I always wanted. Shame you guys couldn't fit a small docking bay for an Argo though. I had hoped this ship might get the Search&Rescue Argo variant:P

I always thought the Javelin was more a light cruiser/destroyer leader. She's a little big for what we generally think of as a destroyer. She's what I'd picture leading a small squadron of Idris and Polaris, which are also what I would classify as destroyers (though the Polaris is bordering on German-style torpedo boat). The closest comparison I can think of in my head is the Kuma-class of World War Two, which was technically a light cruiser, but she was meant to lead destroyers into battle.

It's hard to believe we're getting a new 30+ minute ship shape + ship reveal every day for the next 6 days.
CiG has been very busy.
I would like a ship that could fit USS Enterprise in one of 20 garages, a ship so large I would have fun just staying there because there would be enough stuff to do.
Suggestion: Let 2 of the manned turrets portrude up-down instead, and skip the 2 unmanned turrets.
That way 3 of the 4 turrets can target the same thing all the time.

To be fair they can pronounce it however they want, they're the ones making up the name... even though i-jes is the original pronunciation of the word they used to make the name.
So in his eyes you are all saying it wrong.
The definition I see shows pronunciation as ae·gis ˈējis/ It's a Greek word, not made up, so it does have a correct pronunciation @Sherrif.

Guys... please take away the big butt section of the Hammerhead and put the interior of it more towards the middle of the ship... there is a hole... So you will have the turrets at the corners.
And bend the pylons for the front-side-turrets forward and the rear-side-turrets backward - probably 45°.
