I want a dirt bike so bad
If you guys did more stuff like this, top gear style, this channel would explode. Good Stuff!!!!
Right! That yellow yz made me so excited!
yes pls. more storytelling! products and sales will not disappear
Excellent idea my friend, the channel will explode AND attract new people to bike world imo.
@@nitrorc4life1 100% we need someone to come out with “top gear” style moto content
It’ll never work, the best thing about top gear is the fact that they are all best friends, these guys take the piss out of chase and chuck and the worst of them all is the boss, that raylene wanker
Where I live, there is no such thing as a $500 motorcycle.
JC X facts
Same
True bro
Idk where you live but im in Chicago and we have tons of swap meets in the surrounding suburbs. That's where I got my first dirt bike, a 1986 DR100 for $400 with a bin of spare parts! There's a swap meet website that shows every meet in the states.
@@ChiTownGuerrilla we go to swap meats and we find honda 110 for $50
I don't know about anyone else but i LOVE shows like this..
1. Friendly competition
2. The SEARCH (bikes, cars etc)
3. The repairs
4. The ride
5. The thrills, spills and chills.
6. The camaraderie among friends
7. The life long stories you all will share for years.
It was an absolute blast and something we'll never forget. Hopefully we can inspire others to try something similar! Thanks for watching. What was your favorite part?
@@rmatvmc honestly i like it all. Im a wheeler dealer so i enjoyed the "hunt" for the bikes. I'm also a gear head so i loved the "fixing" the bikes. And of course i enjoyed watching you all riding the bikes. Its a great feeling to buy something cheap, fix it up cheap and enjoy it as much as folks that paid 3 times the amount. It makes it almost more fun really because if you damage it, who cares it just adds character and story scars . Well done.
I hope you all do more stuff like this!!!!
I have to second all 3 comments here awsome guys
👍👍👍😜🏴🦄🎣😁✌️
@@rmatvmc Don't just inspire others... do it again!!!! this is awesome! UA-cam just recommended this to me and it's absolutely awesome. Legit if you do this 3-4 times a year, and stretch out the video releases to once a week, I'd watch every single one and I'm sure at some point it would go viral... and with a back catalogue like yours, this is an absolute win. Or at least selfishly I can hope! because I want to see more!
yeah ive just came across this video, hadnt heard of them before, but subbed to watch this series and most likely the rest of the videos they have, it looks a good channel, good banter, good friends, nothing feels forced at least on this video anyway, takes me back to the old top gear and the challenges they used to do.
$150 for a running 450 and the guy wanted it gone fast? I don’t care what’s wrong with it, that’s worth quadruple that all day. The seller probably stole it 😂
here in the netherlands we still pay 2000 euros
GyroPyro12 yeah that’s not right at all lol
oh hell... even 500 for a running 450 would be a steal lmao
I'm looking at a non running 86 kx250 for $500 right now. And that's considered cheap around here. Even with the age of the bike.
zac cheatum herp derp getting even a fairly decent newer 250 for $1000 is rare
that 06 for 150 dollars is the most stolen thing i ever saw. "sellers in a rush" lmfao
picks up a running 450 for $150.... i cant even get someone to knock £50 off the price of a bike.
Yes a 450 that needed $1500 spent on the engine if you wanted it to last
@@codenamenoob4973 yes and for around 2 grands you have a nice solid bike: )
That sounds stolen..
@@efirizaki5656 2nd hand bikes of that age will always keep throwing up new problems requireing more money, it's rare you ever get a deal with older bikes
@@kevinhudgins2717 Sure does, the carb is worth 150$... Makes no sense...
Running joke among a few friends: "Run's great, needs carb service" whenever something is an absolute junk heap and there's 1,000,000 things wrong with it.
Ran when parked.
This is AWESOME!!! I'm still in the intros and so loving it!
Who needs Netflix when you can watch this instead? Absolutely loved it!
Not only do you guys have a solid UA-cam channel, RMATVMC is by far the best for pretty much any parts for a dirtbike/quad hands down. Not to mention the fast shipping because I'm in AZ, and also the fantastic customer service. I've been ordering from you guys for at least a decade, probably closer to 12 years or so and not one time has my order taken longer than 3 days, or even been filled incorrectly. I remember one time I made a large order for my yz250 that was close to a grand, and they called me and wanted to make sure I was actually making such a large order. You guys are awesome!
Thanks Doctor Motorcycle! We appreciate the feedback and are glad that you've had such a positive experience. We love the company too and that's why we do it! Keep riding! - Wes
I've been telling fred William's and dave chapel from dirt every day to do this for years now. Thank you for doing it super rad
Doc Holliday97 you’re welcome! We had a blast doing it. Have you watched all episodes yet?! - Chase

I love those old yz's !!!! The ttr is badass!!!
Ha ha that's a first for Chance's bike! lol Thanks! The YZ was awesome! - Wes
@@rmatvmc grew up riding those. That era is firmly embedded in my brain. The 80's yzf is what I first think of when I see a dirt bike.
Love the XR500, I used to ride a $600 XL500s, great old bike!
One of your best episodes ever.
Hard to root for your favorite guy when they all look exactly the same
As long as the frame is in good shape... you're good to go!
That '81 YZ125 is awesome! Vintage MX rules!
In 1996 Motorcyclist Magazine had an article "The $500 Challenge" where their Editors had to buy a bike for $500, get it running and go on a 500 mile road trip.
This didn't include new tires or getting the bike running, I think there were about 6 or 7 entrants, most completed the 500 miles successfully.
The next year they did the $500/500 mile off road challenge with dirt bikes and enduros.
Probably My favorite series of Motorcyclist articles ever.
Lol, no way so excited to watch this!!!!
Imagine working for Rocky Mountain, that would be my dream job 👌
TEAM YZ! - Wes

@@pervisbearden3855 Thanks
Lucky these bikes were only $500 that trail looks like it likes to eat bikes and riders
You should see the guys in another group behind us. His bike didn't make it out and he had to go back in the next day to get it out.
So 5MOH is like i wanna die, but i wanna suffer like hell all the way? Respect.
It's pretty crazy but it'll put a smile on your face the whole way! Unless, of course, your bike doesn't make it or you get too tired.
@@rmatvmc well nothing worth living ever makes you sad and sometimes the worst tests make you grin from ear to ear.
Fun idea!
What a bad ass idea fellas! My best friend and riding buddy were just talking about 5moh the other night. We're headed to MOAB in March from our state of Colorado. Not riding 5moh this year, but pumped for early season riding with my bud as we can't ride here until May if we're lucky. Be safe and twist a grip guys!
Thanks Brendon. 5 MOH is the funnest trail I have ever ridden! A good time when everyone is on a pretty much level playing field... - Wes
Great Video! For those of us that have ridden 5 MOH, getting to the end is all that matters. Fun video. Can't wait to see the rest.

That crank in the crf450 sounds like it going to jump right out and run away. Holyyyyyy crap
It was pretty bad haha. I thought about running it like it was but I couldn't stand to listen to that the entire time. She runs like a dream now! Thanks for watching.
I echo the sentiments of many others; best vid series you've ever done! Don't get me wrong, I like the how-to and review vids....but this is way more entertaining.👍
How fun!! Wife is watching Hallmark channel tonight. So I get the 5 Miles of Hell. 👍
steve brinkert what a good wife!!
i would love to see something like this done with 3 wheeler's, can get the ole atc's dirt cheap now, I think it would be really fun to watch.

So glad these guys got some vintage bikes in there! Those old two strokes are awesome, my old 73 Suzuki TS185 has outdone modern bikes on tight trails many a time, can’t wait to see more
I had a clean 74 TC185 I sold 4 years ago because I never used it. I am so mad at myself now!!! I miss that bike a lot. I've tried to find another one and can't! - Justin
The 1980 YZ125 is one of the best Yz 125's ever made. Find a 1981 swing arm for it. That makes a huge difference. Also find a 38mm flat slide and it really comes alive. I want to be a part of this competition!
Heck yeah! I had a blast looking up the old shootouts from that year. The YZ was solid for 1980. Last year of the air cooled engine. Good enough to go through 5MOH! ha ha ha I'm going to need some more tips from you for the next challenge! - Wes
I am sure you guys know plenty of great people with sources but I would be happy to tell you everything I know through helping a couple different people build those for vintage racing. There are a lot of tricks you can do for cheap that make a huge difference like the swing arm I mentioned. Also any 43mm forks, triple wheel combo will fit and work great especially 86-88. Also quite a bit of Yamaha blaster 200 parts can work in that motor or It175. Good luck man!
That YZ125 is worth fixing up
Hell yeah! My dad as the same bike in VA, in about the same shape but it's complete. Can't wait to get it going next time I go!
Cupid Me what part of va if u don’t mind answering
I was thinking to myself "that was forward thinking, he took the seat off so it wouldn't blow off"..nope, lol
Lol! Yeah, I wish that was the case! That stock seat was prime! - Wes
@@rmatvmc That replacement seat w/ seat cover was pretty BA! If RM ATV MC started selling those, I'd buy one!
You guys are pretty cool, when I get another bike I'm gonna buy parts through you guys. I'm trying to buy a dual sport soon I haven't had a bike in some years because I can't afford one so I'm looking for a dual sport for under $1200 I can fix up.
That's awesome! Glad you liked the series and welcome to the Rocky Mountain family. Best of luck finding your bike and getting it fixed up! - Chase
Being from Los Angeles, not too often somebody says SOUTH CENTRAL........UTAH ! lol.
Ive been looking for a vintage 2 stroke around here in Connecticut for over 1 year. Apparently everyone else is going vintage as well. Cant find shit. Its either totally clapped out or already restored and super expensive...... and you roll into a 1981 RM-125 that looks complete.... for $300. WTF?
Yeah everyone wants crazy prices it’s bullshit. It’s like when all those tv shows became popular about flipping cars or building them. People want top dollar for an old rusted out non running 4 door shit box
Steven Llewellyn the thing about that is it works if you get the price super high they think they are talking you down then they pay extra
With dumb people of course where I live we don't have the smartest buyers 😄
The intro to Chase was so funny 😂
I had a 81 mx175, that bike was so tough... I beat the shit outta that poor bike, wide open for a million RPM n it took it. Crank seal was bad, needle n seat were toast , low compression but that never slowed the mx175 down. Dt175 is the same bike but on off version.
Banshee left carb fit and work fine. (Left for choke nob)
Awesome
Your current look is by far the best of the many looks you have had
You crazy goofballs, good fun just saying motor on.

Haha Chase is the best!!
My 1st street bike when I was 16 was a 1978 yamaha 175 Enduro.
I dont want to believe you paid $150 for the crf450 but ive had a few killer deals of my own
Bought an xr250l for 350 bucks running back in highschool and rode it like I stole it. Skipped timing and bent some valves. Sold it not running for 150 bucks I think lol.
Couple years ago I bought an old 84 RM250 for 350 bucks, rode the hell out of it and sold it for 250. That was the best absolute desert toy I ever owned
Great channel guys just stumbled across you I'm from England . However I'd like to see the actual exchanging of cash for the crf450 hmmm £150 I don't think so 😂😂😂😂😂
Seems pretty possible, probably stolen see lots of those bikes here “450cc for $1500, no ownership” lol
Man this was sooo much fun to watch!!! it was like top gear for dirt bikes!!!! Really couldn’t get enough of it!!!!!

My last beater bike pick up would be perfect for this type of challenge, especially the fact you’re doing 5 miles of hell. 1986 Honda TLR200 Reflex. Trials based dual-sport I got running and rideable for $550! To be legal for this challenge I’d have had to talk dude down another $50 though.
Ya baby!
These kinds of vids will hopefully inspire many young broke wanna be riders to get out and explore their options. Super cool! Reminds me of being a teenager with a lame budget and the desire to ride.
