Thank you for walking me down memory lane. I miss my friend, and it was good to see his smiling face again, and it was such a pleasure having you stay with me. Forrest and I met on a trail in 2017 near Mt Rainer, and as we hiked we talked about how we both wanted to do PCT trail magic, and so began a friendship. 😢
Man this takes me back to last year, brings back so many memories! I recall messaging you on FB just a couple days before you left the Hwy 20 hostel. Didn't end up doing the water taxi since I was alone so I did the Jackita Ridge trail to the PNT, met Quadzilla for the first time the night I tagged the monument while I was going south--he left the hostel the day after me. Good times!
I know man! It's fun going through the footage again and reliving everything, especially now that I'm behind a desk most days 😅. It's awesome that you met Quadzilla. Such a good dude and what an adventure he had last year!
Another great video, Ryan. This one really hit me in the feels. Madd Baker gave me a ride to Ross Lake from Melinda's hiker hostel a day or two before you, I think. He was awesome. I didn't do the water taxi. The hike up the east bank was a pleasant start, an easy half day stroll along the lake. Glad you got some footage of the Devil's Dome trail. That was quite a climb, and the blowdowns were formidable. It's fun to see some familiar faces. You and Sofa Queen, of course. And Whole Foods, I met him. Can't forget his outfit. :) I'm really looking forward to the rest of your PCT videos.
Hi David! Madd Baker really was an awesome person. We hung out with him a bit more at PCT days. He was hosting a hiker feed. What a good guy. Was very sad to hear the news. Devils Dome was tough! I think it was the largest climb in Washington! 😅 It was great meeting you out there, thanks so much!
The interview at the end was awesome. You ask some good questions. Filming overall, is really good...or is it just hard not to take good video of Northern WA. HAHAHA. Nice job, nice pacing. I'm here watching for the views.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. It's impossible to take a bad photo/video there! The North Cascades are breathtaking and one of my favorite places. ✌️
Finally took a look at the URL you sent me so long back. You're providing me what I want most from these videos, photos of the trail itself. So far I have only seen this one, but it was wonderful. Who am I? I picked you up near Silver City, NM, and took you back to where the CDT intersects with US180. Myself I am back in the Philippines. Ugh! I hope your CDT trek came out well.
I’m glad you’re enjoying the trail images! I think you may have me confused with someone else? I’ve never hiked the CDT, only a small section a while back but I don’t think I had to hitch then.
@@RyanKodakBrownMe? Confused? The very idea! On the other hand, I often joke that at my age I could forget that the other end of the house was on fire! Confusion or not, I like your videos and will continue to watch. Blessings on whatever you are tasked with at this point in time.
Is there anything better than a privy first thing in the morning!? What do you think?
Well...There are some privies that would drive you to a cathole in an instance.
@@2ddw Hahahah, that there are!!!

Forrest was so kind and fun to be around. He was beloved by everyone who met him. Thanks for all you do Melinda and I’m sorry for your loss.

Great video! Always have been interested in a POV of SOBO pct, and you did a great job in this episode of displaying it. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
@@RyanKodakBrown totally did!! Thanks for the reply

Hahaha! Plus all thru hikers tend to look the same, dirty bearded dudes with short shorts that smell really bad.... 😂
So you were in Pittsburgh?!! Good luck on your journey! I'll definitely be following along with you. Stay safe my friend.
I was! Swung by for a few days to introduce my wife to the family! Thanks Buddy, take care and happy riding!
@@RyanKodakBrown Awesome! Congratulations on your marriage! From your videos she seems really sweet and I love her accent! Take care buddy!
Thank you Buddy! She's every bit as sweet as she seems! Take care Buddy and Merry Christmas!
Rip Madd Baker
🥲 Such a good man.
It’s great stuff! I just can’t do the cheesy music! Otherwise would love to follow
Yeah, I get it. Music selection is freakin' hard. Thanks anyway! ✌️
