That's interesting to see that you're having detonation problems. Hope you get it all figured, no worse feeling than paying a tonne of money for a brand new sled (and all the assured reliability) just to have it run improper.
Louis, in the mountains here no-one runs any turbo kit with pump gas, only 50/50 100ll mix, even when the kits are sold as "pump".a lot of guys have been running both rmk and etec kits with 0 problems for 2-3 years although the guys who want to run "pump" winter blend fuel have been having issues. 100ll is cheap too 1.40 at time of this post.
I have a Firecat with F1000 engine in it. I installed a Garrett 3071r turbo and had it to dynotech last weekend. No detonation on 91 octane up to 7 psi (New Brunswick fuel). I also have a low compression head but Jim felt the thing that really helped with detonation was a progressive 3 degree timing retarder that I had installed. Just a thought but you could try a couple degree reverse timing key, or PCV w/timing and I bet you could get away with lower octane. - your flatlander turbo 2 stroker friend from NB
I learned about pre detonation on a six cylinder engine once on an airboat when i added a turbo and didn't take enough meat out of the combustion chambers on the heads. It was fine at first because i knew it was going to have alot of compression and with the boost I knew i needed higher octane. I ran 100 low lead in it for a long time and it was all good but i got cheap and started using pump gas and a little octane boost but then i blew holes in the pistons and the fun was over.
Hey Louis long time fan of powermodz great video, do u have any pics of the pistons after you noticed that you were having a detonation problem, I have a 2014 assault with bd turbo, runs Flippin sweet, noticed something on my pistons that I'm not sure what to call it. Never had a detonation code ever, and always have used 110 octane race gas, just wanted to see if you had photos to compare to, also what does a greenish tint on my plugs mean, I'm thinking a golden brown is best?
Haven't really seen any detonation issues on those newer 800 engines, at least not at the dealer I work at. Most guys around here are running 91 octane on the higher fuel setting.
so i live at sea level in maine, i ride a 2016 800 pro rmk axys. got around 200 miles on it. at this point i have zollinger racing products and SLP after market parts in my sled. since adding i now hit the rev limiter of 8600 due to the lightweight clutch components ive added so i have more tuning to do, (already ordered new spring and weights) however, i have not recieved a detonation ONCE. before or after modding my sled, and it now has the slp stage 2 kit along with zrps lightweight rotating components. never detonated but i do now hit the rev limiter. just wanted to add that in as it sounds like you and kealy are detonating all the time.i know they did an update to the ecu that im pretty sure involved timing. do you have all the proper ecu updates?
If im to give any advice about fueling, I own a Mitsubishi Evo X and had the 2.0 L car tuned to 350 AWHP... I live in Ontario such as yourself, I began a tune on Ultra 94, and got tuned on Shell 91 (ethanol free) the tuner was able to push the car further on Shell; I was experiencing less knock looking at the engine diagnostics; the tuner said the car was behaving better on the 91 and said it was behaving like a 93 octane.... he was thinking the fuel was really good because its Ethanol free. for a fuel to get an octane rating of 91 with no ethanol is simply a high quality fuel. as most other 91's and ultra 94 have 10% ethanol to give it the higher octane rating paired with a lower quality gasoline (due to ethanols knock resitance).... also he had to re-scale my injectors to run with no ethanol. shell also makes a URT 105 and URT 110 which are both ethanol and lead free, but unfortunately are 82$ and 92$ for 22 litres.....water methanol can increase your octane on lower quality fuel but if the system fails goodbye to your motor. But the bottom line is your are only going to be able to push the motor so far and allow for so much boost/timing on 94, the next step especially in turbocharging (a 2 stroke at that) is race fuel
Try running a range or two cooler Spark plug set Louis. Tell kealey to try the same. It'll fix the detonation, especially in the Stock setup. It has the same affect as retarding the ignition timing. Let me know how that works.
Flat landing the best mountain sled ever made, adding a turbo at sea level, calling Chris Burandt for tip.... Love it.

Your sled is so beautiful

Put a wide band on it so you can monitor the afr. Also add water methanol injection

First welcome to Club Boost. Once you go boost you'll have a hard time going back
What's going on? We are craving for some PowerModz videos. It have been a while my friend...
Could you mention the KM problem sequence each time you announce it so we can understand if it's a common issue.
Speeching of Helix's..I run 0 to 2000 ft. 136 inch track, 23/40 gears. I'm getting 14mpg..top speed sucks! 92 mph is all she'll do.

Could you make another video about this topic please

Noticed you got rid of the stock gripper skis... what kind are you running now? Curve? Or slp powder pros?
Louie can you do a vid of cleaning exhaust valves?
have you tried adding a quart of cam2 to the gas to see if that takes care of the detnation
