For graduate school, I applied to Brown and Stanford - those two schools only. I was accepted by both. Brown sent me a one page letter. Stanford sent me a large packet. Stanford knows that you are going to accept.
I applied for Regular Decision. Hopefully I get in. I should know in about 3 to 4 months so remind me to come back to let yall know which one I get into
16:38 he’s exactly right- but only if you do a real major in STEM. And probably not biology. Biology majors regret it almost as much as journalism majors do.
I’m in middle school, and Stanford is my dream school. (I have cork boards dedicated to it, many jackets and sweatshirts etc) and I was wondering if there is anything I can do to help amplify my chances as of right now? I am very involved with sports and extracurriculars, and am an high honors-student and have all of the needed study habits. (I want to major in marine biology/oceanography/something if the sort)
If your school doesn’t have a club in the subjects you’re interested it’s a great first move to make a hs freshman to start a club. And something more that you can do is taking kind of rigorous courses such as honours APs and IBs. Don’t stress too much. Make your hs experience like a movie. And last do an extracurricular activity that will help yeh community in general… GOOD LUCK
focus on life. at the end of the day, maybe someone will be just slightly better or more interesting than you and all of it wouldnt have mattered. everyone i met at stanford had real hobbies and passions in life outside of academics.
I am a feshman and I am making my aplication form to go to a specialized public school called OSSM, number one in Oklahoma. Do you think that the type of school, such as this, matters to Stanford or not. Because it is a lot of work, especialy since im going to Italy for my Sophmore year, I kind of need your opinion on this.
@@LourDrickValsote Thank you, I think I will apply because there are robotics teams and ACT practice every week and more than 70 clubs dedicated to STEM alone, my current school has zero. I think it will help me learn a lot more and increase my curiosity for engineering through their unique programs. Nice to see black students with top grades and scores. Proves being black you aren’t held back by “racist” school systems. 40% of black students at Ivy level schools are from African immigrant families- where the father is home and the emphasis is on education. I hope these young people can teach the black youth to hit the books like they did.
For now, I would say to focus on building good study habits to prepare you for high school. You could also start seeing what kinds of extracurricular activities you may be interested in
As a Stanford admit, I would say any volunteer work really helps out. Definitely look into any extracurriculars you may be interested in. Explore a wide array of challenging courses. Look into taking courses through a dual credit (college + high school credit) program. Main thing is to just challenge yourself and enjoy your time in middle school and high school. I am sure you will do great at whichever college you end up attending!
depends on what you're going for. If it's some sort of science major then science competition such as science fair would help. Debate camps help regardless of your major.
How profitable are your businesses + how much impact did you do? (Because you’ll have to do a LOT to have benefited your community if you want a chance)
This whole college application process is such as waste of collective energy/resources as a society.. spending 100s of hours on applications multiplied by millions of applicants.. what a waste..
Good students with honest answers and bright futures. Really found the long hair white guy who says he’s Hispanic with a mask to be a laughable 🤡 but hopefully he’ll grow up.

Often times it is less about the school itself than it is about the opportunities. If this school has lots of good opportunities, that can always help
