Here's my Tier Template if you'd like to have a go, or you can create your own by clicking 'Make a Template' at the top [this is free, and I'm not in any way sponsored by or affiliated with Tiermaker].
Ambitious. Enjoyed it
A Victory Lost is battle for Smolensk in Operation Barbarossa. A Victory Denied is Manstein's backhand blow at Kharkov. Same systems.
Interesting video thanks, played nowhere near the amount of games you have, my only major difference is Holland 44 which I love. I get your perspectives on the bridges I just like the massive effect that can create to give ahistorical situations to overcome and no love the multiple situations spread over the board rather than a tradition front that it offers. Thanks for the video
i want to shout out the john tiller panzer campaigns designs which is a1 kilometer hex 2 hour turn company scale strategic war game a one step away from being board games. also this series has rules for the ww1 and cold war time periods. these games also contain a lot for instance their Market-Garden game has 6 variant set ups for the campaign and 25 scenarios
thought I would give a quick list of the titles and what battles they cover and their content in this series for those interested so you don't have to thumb through the store page. one quick note on how the scenarios are counted many of the games have scenarios which have versions for solitaire play and hth play and some times it seams these are counted sealion suffers from this.

hey wise guy if your ok i will put the rest of the games down hear
Keen on getting a copy of Atlantic Chase, hard to find at the moment in aus.
Thank you for the great content. I'm inline with your opinions as I don't like too much randomenss or luck in games. Two questions. From a solo perspective, what would be your S tier games? and what's your opinion on the Panzer series form GMT? I own IAF leader by DVG, Warfighter WW2, and Field commander Napoleon currently. Looking to sell Napoleon and pick up a tank game. Thanks again.
I love John Butterfield games for solo play, so stuff like D-Day at Omaha Beach, RAF, and Enemy ACtion: Ardennes are among my favourites! They're all very deep and lead to interesting decisions. I'm not a fan of tactical games so have steered away from the Panzer series.
It looks like you are missing Last Blitzkrieg from the list. It is currently 136 in the war game top 200 list. I was surprised you missed, since you did a bit of content on it.
Nathan have you ever played PoG using the CDG solo system (or Stuka Joe's PnP system that it's based on)?
I'm tempted to pick it up, but being primarily a solo gamer I'm just not sure if that solo system does it justice.
Nah, as much as I love POG, I don't like it solo...
Nice one mate. I share your view on US Civil And War. Mega game Wacht am Rhine versus Trumpets I’d like more feedback from you.?
Yeah I need more time to play Wacht am Rhein!
Maybe you should play a few games using the internet engines. Record them and broadcast them as an experiment on a change of product. If so, count me in for a gave with you.
Hellou - how would u rate
Ardennes '44 in compare to
Last Blitzkrieg: Wacht am Rhein, The Battle of the Bulge ???? because im about to pick one of those and i still cannot make a decision which one : ) also i wonder how
Napoleon's Triumph works in solitare play ? thnx for aswers
I'd lean towards Last Blitzkrieg, but it is a little bit more complex and much longer to play. You could play a game of Ardennes '44, full campaign, in a weekend, but the same campaign would take you weeks in Last Blitzkrieg.
@@WiseGuyHistory i was worried about this kind of answer because actually i do like complex, slow paced games :) (most of times) but as far i can see its not that easy to buy IT outside US. So ive decided i will go for panzer last stand :) and Ardennes 44. Also ive hearded Ardennes 2 is a very good game. Its like Simple version of blitz or fully different game ?
Yeah Ardennes 2 used the Standard Combat Series. I'm familiar with the series, but haven't played this particular title. I've heard very good things about it though. It'd probably fit between the two in terms of complexity.
@WiseGuyHistory If you like so very much Paths of Glory you should try Downfall of Empires. Maybe the only WWI strategic game for up to 4 players. Very elegant, simple, historical rules and super balanced play between all 2, 3 or 4 players.
Much fun playing with 4 players. At start, one player GB, France, Serbia, second entente player controls Russia. One central power starts with Germany, the other Austria-Hungary. Coordination between same faction players and Victory Points being unique for each human player makes a very good game play
Thanks! I'll check it out!
A few of games that for me are S-level design, and maybe B-level games...
Empire of the Sun - brilliant design, but the dice affect too much for my tastes
Combat Commander - again, brilliant design, just a tad too random for me... when, for example, an event causes a foxhole to appear in the far rear of my lines, that takes me out of the narrative of the game a bit
Ft Sumter - I think the design does what it intended... a shorter game, interesting mechanics... I do like the game, but going second in this game has an oversized advantage... also, card draws can really affect things... for example, oh look, out of my 4 cards drawn 3 belong to the opponent and they are all 1 cards, I am at a severe disadvantage now
ASL - was a lifestyle game for me for a long time, but I've really soured on it due to the nature of the dice...
Here I Stand and VQ are S-level designs for me, but A games on my personal list... Churchill I think is in that same category for me
