It was an odd thing to say, but what everyone left out was that she was also the first princess of Wales to have her own affairs - a string of them (Maybe that's what the women was obliquely referring to...?)

Can we at least acknowledge that she was not a "commoner" as most people understand it? She came from a family so privileged that she was referred to as Lady prior to her marriage. That's very different than her son marrying Kate Middleton, an actual commoner
That is true, she was an aristocrat in her own right. I have to say it would have been a great loss if as time was, if Prince William had not been able to marry Kate Middleton. I do think they are a great asset to the Royal Family.
You aren't understanding the definition of the word 'commoner'. Diana had more integrity than the whole royal bunch put together, and if that was the definition of the word, you would be correct. But...it ain't!

My understanding is they always wanted to marry; the Firm didn’t permit it. Diana ticked the boxes for “appropriate”, but happy didn’t enter into it.

Why is Diana called a commonor? She is more highly British royal than the Windsors.
💯👏💯👏
She was called a commoner because she wasn’t royalty, but merely nobility.

you should forgive them for not being as shallow and as broad painting with words as you and many others are used to now days.

The fact that prince Phillip was 19/18 and the Queen was only 13/14 when they first started talking is very concerning.
Thank you for the research that went into this work.
This is so old that hearing all this about Prince Andrew just makes me cringe.

Wow this documentary is old. Pretty sure Prince Edward got married in 1999
Congratulations on 1m subs
Great lady our Princess Diana, you are so loved
And missed terribly 💗
How old is this!!!
Probably 1998, because Edward got married in '99, and according to this, he isn't married yet (but it's after Diana's death in '97)
@@YankeeCountess no, it’s before Diana’s death. Because they talk about her life after Charles.
Don't forget the genetic pain that Harry inherited!!!
That's odd, I swear it was the marriage of Margaret Tudor (Henry VIII's elder sister) to James IV of Scotland that made Britain happen.
I like the thumbnail photo for this video...that was Meghan Markle & Harry right?
Brand new episode! Woohoo
Not really.. they kind of combined clips together & just voiced over it to make it like that. Haha

Diana was a commoner? Hmm
Commoner is anyone who is not royal by birth.

She was an Aristocrat
Apparently all history is british.
Well what do you expect from a UK based channel? There are plenty of other channels that focus on other countries. Perhaps try one of those.
Romances? No. Arranged marriages? Yes. The only royal romance here is Harry and Megan.
Will and Kate.
