Fly Fishing Utah at Strawberry Reservoir for Cutthroat Trout Spring and Fall

There are really big cutthroats in strawberry reservoir Utah. Yellowstone Cutthroats were originally stocked to help keep the chub population in check. Eventially the Bear lake strain was introduced and they now reproduce naturally. Bank fishing for cuttys works well when the fish are shallow, but a float tube or boat is also helpful. In this video I am shore bound, but it didn't seem to matter. In fact, I had the advantage of stealth while wading. As the day wore on, the fish moved deeper and deeper but they never seemed to be out of casting range.

Small olive wooley buggers and thin mint streamers to imitate damselfly nymphs and minnows in the weeds
