- Christmas Island or Kiritimati is open!
We were the first group of anglers to fish out of the famous Ikari house in Three years! The fish were plentiful, untouched and hungry. On Day one we fished the flats for Bonefish and the drop offs for Giant Trevally. We fish just after a big storm blew through and the skies were still dark. It wasn't great weather for sight fishing but we still caught fish.

Giant Trevally - Modified Purple Brush fly. Purple NYAP Popper.
Bluefin Trevally - Small (2.5 inch) Whistler patterns, Small Clousers

Who is that great fishermen? Oh yeah, that's my son Scott!
You were the inspiration. 🫡
He’s definitely the best I’ve been around. He told me so himself. You helped raise a good one Ben👍
Love the heavy breathing lads
Ha, sorry. I know that isn't fun to hear. I have a mic very close to my mouth and I am a mouth breather due to nose breaks from sports. I wish I could get rid of that. Thanks for watching.
Looking forward to the next videos on Christmas Island! Hoping to get there in the next 12 months.
Man, it's fly fishing Disneyland. I'm working on day two now. But day three will probably be the best. It was all good.
Don't hold fish with one hand! Minimize Air Exposure. Bonefish exposed to air for more than 15 seconds are six-time more likely to die post-release. Don't use mechanical lip-gripping devices on active fish. This is from studies from Bonefish Tarpon Trust. That first fish was out of water for triple that. We all like a grip and grin but that fish handling was a travesty.
Thanks for the info.
