It really should scale with fitness and strength differently. I guess the game doesn't have a "height" setting though so it doesn't really have an advanced "proper weight" system.

The spear xp is cause xp gained is proportional to damage dealt with the weapon, and instakills don't count as actual damage, it just sorta sets status to dead. The hp damage being done is negligible for the most part since Bart is exhausted most of the time and that's a huge damage debuff.

The one line “Get your cruci-fix by reading the Lord’s word” kind of made me do a double take though.
Bart is no Builder Bobby but he still got some logging done. This whole spear trap plan is his most daring idea yet! I just hope 80 or so spears is going to be enough for a whole portion of Westpoint. Maybe he's hoping to find an active Internet connection in there somehow to brag to the forums about how badass he is now.

You probably already know this, but corned beef is one of the few you can open without an opener.

Also there's mods that allow you to open cans with screwdrivers and knives, which is a lot more realistic imo

I was kinda bored of the grind and playing zomboid only as OP Insurgent cleanning the map. This series made me enjoy and try the slow play again. 🙂

It's so weird that your spear level isn't going up. Could it be from a mod? Not sure why that would be the one skill with a debuff
Nah, it kinda makes sense. He has slow learner AND pacifist, and with spears having low durability, you don't really hit zombies with them, which is how.you.gain the most of your XP.
The way weapon xp gain relative to the damage done with the weapon. The instakills don't actually count as damage, so no xp gain from them, and Bart is usually exhausted so the actual damage he does with hits is negligible
There's a mod where you can use knives to open them

The part of the map featured at 2:04 is typically where I head first after I break out of Riverside with supplies - Makes a good starting base for raiding the surrounding rural areas, starting a small farm, and getting into the swing of things before moving to the three mansion lake.

Have you guys seen the last update news 28 of march? There was a video where zombies pushed through a high fence, it was amazing! It deformed and then broke with the masses moving to attack. Love this game build 42 is going to be insane.

suggestion for gameplay... you can "respawn", but everytime you do, you gotta add a negative trait or loose a positive one. It could be either randomly selected or not.
After watching your other game series, it makes me think a root cellar in PZ would be a pretty cool place to store veggies to make them last longer.

Not a patch, just a sandbox setting.
Bart keeps gradually improving. Exercise and fresh nutritious food does that to ya. Though I'm amazed he doesn't have some sort of protein deficiency from only eating tomato and carrot... and frankly the "stir-fry" that isn't even cooked is a foible that I can't let go of. It comes off as using a technicality to cheese the game's mechanics.
Naturally, you do you, Lime, though I figure an _actual_ stir fry of stirred-and-fried tomato and carrot would be a nice celebratory dish after you reach the milestone of your choosing. You could even use a bit of butter in it!
I like the idea of removing Restless Sleeper after becoming Stout. Bart's body would be too in order and too used to constant high demand effort to NOT shut down and rest like a koala come sleep time.

meh, you could write off the "putting it in a pan and eating it raw stir fry" as instead taking time to slice/otherwise prepare it in a nicer way rather than just taking bites of it. stuff like peeling and washing the carrots ya know?

I love spears but I do not like using them to fight more than two or three zombies at a time. That stabbing animation feels too stiff. I don't know if you actually do get animation locked when you do it but it feels like you can't shove until it's over so stabbing at the wrong time always seems to get me bitten.
I think the stab animation is tied to the proximity of zeds and your movement so you want to either be stood still and 1v1 with a zed to do the stab kill, or be sure you are moving to avoid it when multiple zeds are near. I've seen conflicting info about that though and some people think it is only based on distance from zeds, so potentially you could have a really bad situation where the nearest Z is close enough to trigger it, the 2nd nearest Z is far enough away to not cancel it, and getting into the stab animation gives the 2nd enough time to close on you before you can react. I've never had that happen though.
@@SweenyMarc In the last run that I did where I've gotten about 17k give or take kills with a spear I recall making minimal movements still and that the instakill animation happens more at a certain distance.Ofc my run was back in augh 10th 2023 so I don't remember too much anymore but I feel like there's a certain distance from target where it triggered more often than not, a bit out of "swipe" reach or something I believe. The game does indeed check whether or not you can safely perform this animation but you are also right that it doesn't check whether or not a second Z has speedy legs and can get to you in said timeframe. As for the original commenters, stab-instakills are more prevalent at lower tiers of the skill and if you get the skill high enough, swipe-instakills start to occur as well allowing one to easily insta-kill multiple zombies at once (With multi-hit enabled)

Do you have an end-game goal for this series? If not, how about picking one location in Luiville that you have to visit to pilfer a random item and that is the end goal. Like for example, going into the weird research corp place and picking up an empty test-tube and pretending that Bart found the "Cure".
Strange, the constant heart beat, loud, annoying...Is also present in previous episodes. I only noticed now, maybe I increased the subwoofer volume. Around 13 minutes there is a relief. Only 1 minute :(
Since nobody complained, I think it's a ME problem, I'll try to lower some volumes here. (Edit word annoying)

the reason your spear level was so low is because all experience gain is randomised and you got very unlucky. honestly one of the worst features of zomboid, although it can be fixed with mods
