The Volkswagen Atlas doesn't shout, it whispers. It offers everything you need, and barely anything you don't. The drive isn't overly thrilling, but it's a perfect tool for getting from point A to point B. Plus, the incredibly quiet cabin makes the Fender stereo sound terrific.

Finally, a review that explains the benefit of fake exhaust tips. Dirty exhaust tips look terrible, it’s like the butt-hole of a vehicle!
    Excellent review, you nailed it!

This is the best, most accurate review I've seen on the Atlas.
Just bought a 2022 Atlas over all other competitors, including the luxury brands. The Atlas' size for tall adults and kids is miles above all the others, without the height problem of a full size SUV. While some competitors boast more rear leg room, rear leg room does not equal car seat room which is more important, and the Atlas beats all the others for car seats and front seat room with a car seat behind you hands down. The Atlas underpromises and overdelivers, while most of its competitors do the opposite.

    • @stonecoldcustoms

@@lilysophia7317 Love is a strong word.. lol.. I will say we "really like" it. Definitely satisfied with it. The size is fantastic for small kids. Only thing we miss is the 'sporty drive' feeling of the Cadillac XT5 or MDX, but we can live without that for now.
One caution though - VW just released a recall notice on the 2019-2023 Atlas for a brake and airbag issue. No fix available to date from what I understand. They are supposed to notify owners in May, and it may include a buyback option.
So I would look into that issue and resolution before buying one.
On the quality front, that's a big deal to me. My sense is that the Atlas has already been out 5 years, and has put a lot of effort into correcting issues in the Atlas, so I'm not too concerned about the quality.
But if that's a priority for you, then the only brand I would recommend is Toyota or Lexus. They have their faults, but generally are #1 for quality.

@japanwatchconnection that's not true at all - the V6 fuel economy is absolutely exceptional for a 4500 lb full size SUV. Class leading for its size. The other mid size SUVs are much smaller than the Atlas. Atlas size compares better with the Tahoe or Expedition.

    To answer your 3 questions:
1 : yes I would, and did, pick the Atlas over the competition. Got the Cross Sport SEL premium. Hard to beat the looks and functionality of the Alas in this price range!
2: yes it is priced about $2000 too high, but absolutely love this vehicle. Replaces my Jeep Wrangler. I’m still fighting the urge to wave 👋 at other Atlas drivers!!
3, v6 is the way to go for me. 5000lbs towing capacity not too shabby! BTW I get an easy 26 mpg hwy with the V6!

@@yarivetteflournoy2226 friends ask me if I miss my Jeep, and my reply is always “ I’d be lying if I said I did!” The Atlas does everything better than the Jeep. Better ride, better gas mileage, better towing capacity, better electronics, and when you close a door on the Atlas it sounds solid not tinny like the Jeep doors. I have no regrets!

We have a 2018 sel premium with 50K miles on it (white).
It’s been great. The only serious problem we’ve had was a cruise control failure that was fixed under warranty. Occasionally there are infotainment bugs that resolve after restarting the car.
It’s a heavy car, gets about 20mpg overall driven normally. Sport mode provides more get up and go.

I have a 2021 Volkswagen atlas. My wife had a deer in May 2023 and the autobody shop cannot source a hood or bumper and seven months. Volkswagen cannot tell us when they are going to start to manufacture hoods or bumpers, which leaves us with no car yet we are still making payments. I would not buy a Volkswagen atlas or any Volkswagen for that matter because they are not manufacturing replacement parts to repair their cars.

People who are not familiar with car technology, should not purchase a vehicle with a VR6 engine. This is especially true for people with low I.Q's, poor-people, people with no patience, people that truly do not understand the difference between Volkwagen and Chevrolet. When you take your car to a simple mechanic shop, they may have never worked on a VR6 engine, especially if they have to really get down into the motor.
And don't even think about getting a W8 engine unless you consider ourself rich.
The pros of those two engines, do not offset the cons when comparing it to a more simply designed engine.
It is critical to keep the oil-pressure high and the coolant flowing properly on those engines, or you will do $ 15,000 in damages. Most rich folks regularly take their car to the mechanic, but middle-class people try to
drive their cars too far between such maintenance.

You shouldn't lie to the folks about this vehicle! Just be honest. For one it is hilariously under powered and over priced for a front wheel drive platform that has a cheap plastic interior and non existence old world german quality workmanship like Volkswagen used to have of many years ago. I can rate this vehicle because I purchased one owned it for three months before I traded it in at a great financial loss due to how my brand new Volkswagen Atlas stayed in the dam shop for one thing or another and how unreliable' uncomfortable' cheaply built and underpowered the vehicle was and is. I for one was very disappointed with this vehicle. I would have to assume that because Volkswagen was being very cheap building it and it was designed and built in Tennessee and not in Germany that too would have a lot to do with it. A GMC yukon denali with awd and a full ladder frame with a 420 hp 6.2L V8 should be a model of example for volkswagen to follow before they start building the 2024 Atlas in Germany with quality craftsmanship and rearwheel drive based chassis and at least 425 hp with awd.

    • @patrickgroff5399
      @patrickgroff5399 2 роки тому +5

I am adding a comparison of the two vehicles. You do understand that the Atlas is a mid size SUV, while the Yukon is a FULL size suv. While this compare is of a 2021 yukon they are pretty well matched. I do know that the VR6 Engine in the Atlas is capable of 300hp, and I wonder why they didn't go for all the Horses from that engine, with that being said I don't think
I am going to use a stop light to stage against a Yukon or any thing else for that matter. Yes, I do own a 2022 Atlas VR6 Premium SEL R line. I couldn't see buying a Yukon as it borders on just to big. Comparison --------->"cars.usnews.com/cars-trucks/compare?trims=14846-423604_14377-412341" I do drive a RX350 F sport, which is a FWD, and I don't FWD, so the
Atlas fit the bill for me in that feature, and the RX is way to complicated when going through the menu as opposed to the Atlas which is really straight forward. I like the ride height of the Atlas
and the ride, I would have preferred Michelin over Pirelli scorpions, which are harder, as I would like lower mileage tires that give a smoother ride. All and All my wife picked out the
Atlas for looks and the interior so we are happy. Time will tell the story also, so we wait drive and see how it goes.

your comparing apples to ranges when you said you compare it with a yukon and atlas. Brand new this car can't beat the competion. As a used suv. its a bargin for any tall or large person with families or dogs. Also the suv is a comforatable drive, quiet on the road, and can handle the bumps very well. i know Hyundai and Kia are on everyones now at days but they are still poor quality vehicles and there dealership experience sucks. Your 3month experince is not enough to justify if its a bad suv or not. it just sounds like it didnt "dazzle" you enough.
