Thanks Aaron, I almost threw the K.O. thru my glass doors, then found out later that the Original Worksharp is better, but I'd already ordered the Field Sharpener. And with all the time and Knives you use Hiking and reviewing I figured it's got to be good. I already followed your link and added some things to my Buy Soon list, your the first person to show a how/what you need and have a place to go order the items, this was a Just Starting person's Much Needed video, Great Job.
Great loadout. One of the aspects I like best about that setup is it's in a bag all contained in one area ready to go. Love having things organized like that.
Great video. One thing I have in my kit is a field repair buckle kit - a small replacement buckle for my sternum strap, and a waist belt buckle. Also, I carry some 1" webbing with the attached buckle that I got at REI. I have an old external frame pack that doesn't have a sternum strap, and so I made one on the trail.
Bless you Brother. You gave me several more items to add to list of things I need to add to my and my wife's emergency EDC kit which is yet to be assembled. Great video and priceless information...Abe Azar
Thanks for sharing, have similar setup with a little more tools for my line of work. I did adjust by adding the knot cards. Mora with a updated sheath with Tec-lok molle on the outside plus a leatherman 300 on the condor mag pouch(wish we could get in gray) on the other.
I am working on a fun bag it's just a small kit I put together when in the back yard. I have flint and steel, a small stove ,stuff you use in a bug out situation just smaller but use every day, just having fun with it all. p.s. great video . ...
Great kit! I use a few ranger bands around my leatherman, it's a pain BUT helps me with the grip and I stick a ferro rod with my leather man. Thanks for the links/video, Happy New Year Aaron, from our family to yours!
Another good headlamp is the Black Diamond Ion. Only takes 2 triple A's (just like yours) and puts out 100 lumens. It's IPX8 waterproof and comes in at a featherweight 2oz.
Happy New year Aaron wishing you and your family a blessed year thanks for all you do... FYI I ended up getting the Vanquest 4X6 perfect size for a blowout kit I have a small pouch for a boo boo kit to compliment it... And I pulled the trigger and bought the UCR Ifak by 5.11 hahaha Cheers from Canada
Great video, Aaron. I always love waking up to the "Gideonstactical has posted a new video" notification on my phone. Quick question, I'm considering buying a Fallkniven knife, not sure which one yet, but I'm a little worried about re-sharpening the convex grind. Is it something you can do with one of those Work Sharp Field Sharpeners?
Steve Smith thanks so much really appreciate the love! My recommendation would be either the S1 or A1 but stay away from the F1 was not thrilled with it or happy about it. I was really concerned about convex crimes also I want to get the hang of it it's not a big deal. The work sharpie should be able to handle all minor tuneup's. Only if you really damage it or get a lot of chips in it would you maybe have to go I'm more aggressive route.
Thank Aaron for your great work ! Love your chanel here in canada ! My wife doesnt dig it has much as me been spending more since im suscribed! But a least spending on quality stuff thanks to you!!
Great kit! The only things I didn't see that i carry in my outdoor kit are water treatment/container to collect and boil as well as a small FAK for wound care. Would love to know what you recommend for those items. Thanks as always for the great content.
+gideonstactical I got the direct action ghost backpack for Christmas, after seein the reviews on your channel of dragon egg and such too. The front pack reminds me of this but the Molle webbing I can throw this right on there as well
Thanks for this video, I've been looking at other EDC set up videos and this was the Best presented one. I have a question about the Worksharp, is it really all I'll Need for touching up or sharpening? Or should I have to get something else to go with it? I sent the K.O. Worksharp back and ordered the Field based on your old video I found.
I love your kit videos. I don't know who costs me more -- You or Peter. I have his Grizzly and Honey Badger. I would like you to do a review the Grizzly.
Something I want to share with your subscribers.... Home Depot sells the Nite Ize Carabiners. And, often for LESS than Amazon's price. Just a head's up.

Great loadout. One of the aspects I like best about that setup is it's in a bag all contained in one area ready to go. Love having things organized like that.
Cr0cket20 thanks! Yeah I love being organized make sure everything is right where I left the hunting through bags and gear.
Good review with some good stuff. I like the fact that all your equipment takes the one type of battery

Amazing video as always, Gideon. You always have the best picks of gear and great advice!
Legend In My Spare Time thanks for watching
Nice kit set up. Like the idea of putting on the outside of my pack along with first aid.

Would you recommend the Survive! Gso 5.1 or Esee 6 for woods use?
Awesome review Aaron, I have that same Vanquest pouch. Enough room and pockets and elastic webbing for all my stuff. Works great

How does the rebar compare to the Leatherman Super Tool?
Stupid question but how did you attach the sheath to the outside of the pouch? Is there molle webbing on the outside?
Great kit. I have enjoyed all your vids in 2016! Jon
MsAcreage thanks brother!

I don't know if you said it but what does the complete kit weigh roughly? Great kit though, well thought out! Thanks
COWs of Suffolk The Pat comes in at just under 2 pounds.
Question. How well does the Repel insect repellent work in the woods? I haven't had a chance to use that brand.
Robert Long really well, have had to use it several times and works better then several others I have had.

gideonstactical Awesome, thanks Aaron! Have a happy New Year, and I can't wait to see what Gideonstactical 2017 has in store for us!
How do you clean the work sharp field sharpener? Mine still has a lot of metal scraps on the diamond plates and the ceramic rod.
Justin Moore Use a wire brush or a file card.
Justin Moore dish soap on the diamond plates and commit soap for the ceramics
gideonstactical Okay thank you for the advice!
Which husky pouch was this? I've checked Amazon and don't see this particular one available. Do you have a link?
Thanks man, keep up the great work!!!

Something I want to share with your subscribers....
Home Depot sells the Nite Ize Carabiners. And, often for LESS than Amazon's price. Just a head's up.
Unfortunately you can not buy "Vanquest" products in Germany
i probably missed something, but no water related or medical items?
Thank you for the video.
very solid.
fatwood would be a good add
good stuff man!
great video
Chapstick?
Geat gear load out. Most important item missing - mink lined jockstrap. DDDDDD
Cheap sunglasses?
Knife sharpener doesn’t seem necessary. Most quality tools can last a few weeks of use without maintenance.
You are missing my most used item.... a begleri xD
I like it
Triangular bandages.
Add a Swiss Army Knife
Uh huh huh......you said bum wipes.......Well I guess it works out in the end !... Lol....... sorry......HNY. !!!.... PAPA DUKES
