Failed at fixing a stinky problem!

Connie Comanche has a bit of a stinky problem.
The fan in the Thetford Electronic Ventilator system has stopped working, allowing toilet smells to stay in the cassette. Poo eee!!
I bought a matching fan from eBay for under £10 and tried to fit it, first using quick clips, then using my soldering iron.
It worked at first and the fan spins up and shuts off as it should. Once all the stuff is put back in place, it stopped working.
I am truly puzzled by this as the fan was obviously working.
If you have any idea on what the issue is and how to properly fix it, please leave a comment. I don't really want to buy another fan as this one still works.
I will try some more soldering on it when I get chance and maybe solder the cable ends first, then re-try the quick connectors again.
