You helped me and convinced me to buy this exact monitor. It was like fate, as the original gigabyte m32u I orderd got lost in transit, so it was returned to Amazon. I bought this instead from Dell. And Im glad I did.
Side note: my box didn't come with instructions paper inside. Instead I just went off your video. I watched your video 2-3 times as you made it enjoyable to watch and set it up quickly. Thanks
Awesome! I’m glad this helped you out!
This was a excellent video. Very helpful for those in the market for this monitor.
Thanks for watching! Stay tuned for part 2 which has some comparison footage
I have it, this monitor is awesome and the sweet spot if you want to play at 4k and have a high fps 🤘🏻
Awesome! What video card did you pair it with?
@@ioone 3080ti
How's it been going now?
Great video! I like your style.
Thanks for watching!
Just put an order for this bad boy
can u tell me the length of cable dell come with monitor? 1.5M or 1.8M ?
Hello and Happy New Year!
Thank you for your video.
Could you tell me if on a table of 80 cm depth we can use this screen in a correct way.
Thanks in advance
Hervé
Yes you can. My space is currently restricted and I positioned it about 40cm from the table edge and I sit about 25cm from the table edge.
Just bought it. $565 +tax came out to $604. Can't wait to try it I create and game.
Nice price ! Enjoy it! 🎉
Price has actually gone up. Crazy.
The price in Canada still fluctuates but sometimes a good deal can be found. 😀
Have you tried the G3223Q with g-sync? If so, did you experience any black screens/flickering?
Unfortunately I don't have a Nvidia graphics card to try!
No worries. Thanks
🔥
Awesome review, got until the end of the month to decide if i get this one or not,as someone who is not ''tech'' savvy it's hard choose one or the other.
Price here in Spain is a bit more expensive,it's at 739 euros at the moment, for me that is a lot of cash, had to save for a long time so yeah i am having trouble deciding hehe
cheers and thanks for the useful video :)
I’m glad you enjoyed it! 739 euro is def pricy but if that is the general pricing across the board then this would still be a good choice. Also to waiting for Dell sales would be ideal!
Saw a few posts on Reddit saying this had image retention issues can you let me know if you had any please?
I haven't had any retention issues!
Can you confirm that the backside LED can be turned off? (i read reviews saying it can NOT be turned off) Thanks!
Absolutely can using the onboard monitor buttons. I’m using firmware M3T103 which is the newest one available.
This feature was added with a firmware update, not available at launch, hence the reviews that mention you can't turn it off. My monitor shipped with the original firmware, but this can easily be updated and allows you to turn off the LED strip on the rear.
Just received this monitor yesterday. Looks amazing... Except for mine wont power up. Sad day. waiting for the replacement.
Sad to hear! no light on the bezels or where the power button is at all??
@@ioone Actually I am an idiot.... Didn't see the real "power" button on the bottom right. Assumed it was the one on the back. lol it works great and looks amazing!
hey if you have 2 minutes to test something for me I'd appreciate it. How does this monitor scale 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768 and 1280x1024? Is it centered and small or vertically maximised? Any input appreciated.
They are all vertically maximized. The left and right sides have black bars!
@@ioone nice, thanks. This is consistent with my experience
I went with the 32 inch DEL G3223Q and it's the same.
Plus DOS resolutions at 70Hz run without frameskipping, so these high refresh monitors are really well equipped for PC retro gaming :)
May I know where u get that great deal from? 575+tax is an awesome price.
It was actually on sale for 674.99CAD around Christmas time. There was also a 15% Rakuten cash back at the same time. After all said and done it was $661CAD or $585 CAD+ tax (my bad, not $575). - still a great deal!
Seems with these specs would be good for video editing?
Where else would I do my editing ??!! Screen estate is king 😃
Which dp cable are you using? I've been having issues with every dp cord I've tried since I bought this monitor.
I’m using the dp cable that came with the monitor. What issue are you experiencing?
@I/O One random screen black outs, or weird color issues. I've gone through 5 different cables. I've been using an hdmi cable since with no issues 🤷🏻♀️
@GirlRiot try try unplug and plug in different DP cables swap them around etc could be placement or sagging of the cables otherwise . DDU gpu driver clean install gpu driver. If that doesn't work, I clean installed the drivers twice and swapped around unplugged cables and it managed to fix it lol.
@@Dragonborn2262 I'll give a shot, thank you!
@@GirlRiotthis monitor is known for random blackouts sadly.
Does this monitor supports Picture by Picture ( PBP ) or/and Picture in Picture ( PIP ) ? Could you show how it's works if it has it in nextwideo ? Please also show the quality of display: colors, HDR, black level - if you have any other monitor do the comparison. Thank you for all your work with review 😊
Thanks for watching! Hopefully coming in the new year!
im about to get this monitor myself to help the bottlenecking with my 12900k and 3080. I am currently using a 1080p monitor and its just restricting my GPU.
Release the Kraken!!
Did you get lower than 60fps on 1080P? I have an i7 7700k and as of currently speaking a gtx 1060 6gb. I will move on to RTX 4080 but I dont have the the right monitor for 4k just yet...I have 60hz 27' 1080P...I wont have any issues at 4k right? Thanks for your time.
@@deimosok2003 you should be more than fine for 4k with the 4080 and 7700 cpu
Thanks G
How is it? HDR is good? Black level is good? Share me your experience , thanks.
From my initial impressions, the HDR was not as bright using DisplayPort compared to HDMI for some reason. But I will continue to check it out and see if any settings need to be changed.
@@ioone how is black level? Can you share photo ?
@@VaMpiRe-xo8er TBH I had to pack up the monitor and wait till Christmas to re-open it lol. I was making sure pixels were not dead. If I get a chance, I will post a link to black level around that time!
@@ioone thanks , enjoy.
What version is the included Displayport cable? 1.4?
Yes it should be 1.4
Does this monitor come with built in speakers aswell ?
It does not come with built in speakers.
@@ioone thank you!
The audio jack output from this monitor is only support up to 24 bit via HDMI connection while my laptop can go up to 32 bit, I not sure is it the HDMI issue or what so ever, I haven't try DisplayPort yet...
How do you like the monitor? I am not entirely sure either but I took a bit of time to read HDMI 2.1a spec and DP1.4a and I believe both support up to 24bit only. In addition, HDMI supports eArc which specifically allows for the audio to be “passed through” the monitor. Can’t say the same for DP but since it can carry audio, I believe it will also work. In both case likely not 32bit audio.
I saw someone posted that this IPS suffers from image retention, is this observable?
I haven't seen any image retention. In the on-screen menu there is a "LCD conditioning" option that cycles the screen colors in case you do get burn in. I'm sure if you went to the extreme - burn- in will happen, hence the option in the OSM.
Is this monitor edge led or backlit led with fullarray?
I believe this monitor is edge-lit.
There is no USB C Mate! 😉
How are you going with this monitor now?
Excellent!! Love the extra screen space. Colors are vibrant.
I’ve heard this monitor has had issues with image retention, have you noticed this at all with yours?
I’ve not had image retention issues so far !
I don’t understand why they don’t offer a curved 32“ 4K monitor.
I think the S3221QS is the 4K curved version. That one is a VA panel however.
PLEASE ANSWER!!!!
Can i turn brightness all the way down?
Brightness set to 0% only makes the monitor look dimmer, not black.
@@ioone Not the real answer i was looking for.
pull out the power cord
