If you can move your brake drum with one finger, aren't your brakes not adjusted well enough? Shouldn't the brake shoes be making light contact with the drum? I thought you should just be able to turn the wheel a small amount with the tyres on, and even less without the tyres.

brake cleaner will make no difference to rust, just use at the end when all rust has been removed to get rid of dust but water will be just as good.
No don't use water at all, water is the cause of rust. However, you right about you could use brake cleaner at the end. But I won't recommend water or DW40.

Unfortunately, there is no product or way to stop the rust.

This video is ridiculous. Just stop already. Hitting your claw hammer on a piece of wood against the drum is doing nothing. Why not just remove the drum to clean it and remove the dirt and dust built up on the inside. Use that brake clean for something useful like on the actual brakes and you don't have to fight cleaning around the wheel studs.
