- Larry Bertlemann was one of the most influential surfers of his time (1970's-1980's). A product of Hawaiian waters, his radical style influenced a generation of surfers with the loose and tight lines made possible with the new twin fin boards of this time. The iconic red, white and blue twin fin is burned in many surfers minds from those years. We celebrate Larry and this board as part of our 50th Anniversary Commemoration. Larry's talent also spread to skateboarding right at the time the polyurethane wheels made skateboarding something that could emulate surfing waves on concrete. His influence on skateboarding and it's next generation of shredders cannot be underestimated. He was the gold standard of style. Love it !! LB was so ahead of his time, and got me on my first T & C board in the very early 80's. Still the only boards I ride to this day!! I have to contact Vance for one of those 50th Anniversary LB boards .... for Sure!! Congrats on 50 Years !!

I had a similar twin winged swallow tail Dane Kealoha model T & C from the same era. Of course, it was 5’7”, while I am 6’2”! What a board.

I had one of these boards back in 1976. I bought it from Shaun Tomson's Dad, Ernie, at their shop in Durban, South Africa. Recently, I've been wondering if the board was shaped in SA under license or if it would have been imported from Hawaii. Perhaps someone would know? Can still remember waxing the board for the first time. Larry had 'style' on a wave and on a skateboard. @shauntomson

We lived a few doors down from Donald at Stonesteps. All the kids would inherit old team boards from Donald. After the Navy I went back to Hawaii with a Brewer single fin and a Donald twin. We would have Rusty shape blanks and glass backyard and also Aqua surf Rod Sorenson.
The design went from Coca-Cola to Pepsi 😆😆🤙👌
That was my first surf board back in '83
