My final RC car before I sold it to buy my first motorcycle in 1990! Went through the 80’s from a Ford ranger - Supershot - Falcon - Ultima - Topcat - racing every 2 weeks at our local sports hall as we didn’t have an off-road track. Fantastic childhood memories.
That buggy looked so smooth that for a minute there I thought maybe your Tame Driver was at the wheel. Some say he never blinks, and that he roams around the woods at night foraging for wolves. All we know is he's called THE STIG!
I have been waiting for this video since I saw you had one in your collection. Awesome job as always. This was my first car as a child growing up. I was a bit over my skis then. Life happened and I had to sell it about 10 years ago. My wife picked me up a rere last year right before they got discontinued.
Thanks brother. I was a little hesitant to run it (more like afraid...lol) but once I got that 1st lap in...it was hammer time! The car is a dream to drive. Was slightly pushy on the dirt but not low on steering overall. I think it only needs some spring and oil adjustments to make it perfect. Bucket list car for me 100%!
I lusted over that Schumacher man...kinda! At that time, I had a Tomahawk & an Optima...both great cars. Love top class rc's from any era. BTW, I've looked at a few of your vids today...and they are some of the best productions of rc...that I've seen. Thanks.
The Cat was 100% a dream car for me. Never thought I would be driving one around my track. Man...back in the day I wore out the pages of my RC car action that featured this car. I appreciate the kind words. We try to keep things fresh and different here while staying in our technical abilities. It's a labor of love for sure. Rock on!

That's one hell of a buggy, I was in my 20's and seen the car in the pages of RCCA (Radio Control Car Action) magazines. However, I was into trucks at the time (Blackfoot, Clod Buster & Bruiser) and never thought about buggies, till now. Awesome video!!! Happy Holidays to You & Yours!!!!!!

Merry Christmas my friend. I assume rigidly won over durability at some point. I have heard the hot ticket was to actually put the non crash back Cougar front end on it... Not nearly as cool but surely a lot easier to set up.
What an awesome RC! Jumps look incredible with this beauty and it seems so comfortable through the corners. I thought it looked slow but probably because it was taking everything so easily! Great way to finish the season bud! Wishing you all a happy holiday season 🙌🏻👍🏻
I am wishful they will give us another car (hopefully the Cougar). One thing I like best about their re-re cars are they are pretty much exact copies of the original.
@@martinhsrc6699 We did last year. It's hit or miss though. Usually two really good storms a year. We had a few more last year. Damp and cold is the major issue.

I could not even tell when driving! I did not notice the awkward landings/crashback until I watched the slow-motion. Could not be more pleased with this car. I hear rumblings that they may be giving us another vintage car...I won't miss out on the next re-re that's for sure!
Thanks for the video. I love hearing the sound of the car running. I hate how almost every rc video is only in slow motion with crappy music. Some of it is ok, but a whole video of slo mo/music sucks. Well done!
Thanks friend. We do our best to capture the actual laps while making it visually stimulating . That Cat sounds unique for sure. We save the slowmo and tunes for the wrap up.
Hay man,can you race the prs1v3 with a frog or hornet ? The idea is because they a the same price and all two and I think prs1v3 vs top cat is a cool idea too
Hmm...well the Dynastorm came out like 4 years later...so I would assume the car on paper should perform better. That being said...Tamiya was pretty much just dipping their toes in the water as far as taking competitive racing seriously around that timeframe. Unfortunately I don't think I will ever be able to secure a Dynastorm to actually find this out. The Top Force is 4wd so that's not really a fair comparison.
@@butterknife_mtb_rc I have run around with another good driver and it was enough room for some fun/passing. Perfect for solo driving or smaller scale cars for sure.
Where's your second ELF car you haven't built it yet and what happened to the camera that would follow the car in the streets hope you had a good Christmas.
It's super impressive that they are all within 10ths of each other...literally a bink of an eye! We need to take into account it's different days as well. Also the TopCat had to use a different lipo because the standard long one would not fit. I.r. numbers are about the same for the two different packs but different is different I guess. The flexy front end is a bit of a disadvantage imo. Can't wait to see what the Cougar can do!

Schumacher are really cool,The only reason they weren’t bigger in the the states was they work best on carpet.that was there focus.
The car had crazy good steering on the deck carpet...Will say that for sure.

You should try to get some of the two-wheel drive trf cars and put it on the track.

Cool, just how capable is this buggy compared to say the Tamiya Top Force or the Dynastorm?
Hmm...well the Dynastorm came out like 4 years later...so I would assume the car on paper should perform better. I know you may have said this in a earlier vid, but how wide is your track, and does it get wider in the turns?
Straight sections are around 5.3 to 6ft. The turns are from 5 to over 6. Most but the one corner and deck get a bit wider in spots.

Saving that build for later this winter. Cable cam is in repair still.
Need to find a better way to control it (work in progress).
