I feel like the hype for Guardians was quiet because of Avengers, and I'm worried that the Star-Lord only gameplay will limit what could have been a great battle system, but I think the story will be fun and worth it. Who knows, maybe later they'll make the other characters playable. Seems like they took half a page from FF7R, so maybe they'll take the rest

They didn’t give an explanation of how they got the gold and white uniforms - but I left this game wishing I was a guardian on the spaceship. Considering running back through a mission or two. Maybe I’ll just play forever. My eyes are purple.
The guardians didn’t outright give an explanation but if you look at the outfits description, it says Rocket called in a favor from a guy in Knowwhere to make new suits, each suit has “upgrades” that “benefit” each character. Whole thing is 15-20 hours. Come to think of it, I don't think there are any side quests. The story is pretty on-rails. You aren't running around picking up quests from NPC's. Things just play out and then you're off to the next objective. This is without a doubt THEE BEST VIDEO GAME ADAPTATION OF A MOVIE OR COMIC BOOK SERIES I HAVE EVER PLAYED. The game visually is stunning, the dialog is right on point with how it was in the movies, the levels are fun and the replay ability is off the charts in my opinion. I'm planning on buying this game but I will say Im goin in treating this like a telltale game where the narrative is what is most important because I haven't been sold on the gameplay . It looks average at best . I think they where absolutely wrong for having you only play starlord and for his gameplay to be that stale and ass from what I've seen . Look how can you make a team game where you only play the leader ????? I'm dragon age origins for instance you was always your main character but you can play the other team in order to get your combat together. You also had the ability to fine tune the ai companions into doin very specific things depending on the battlefield. Why is it I'm referring to a old ass game doin game better than this when that old game was an RPG and this is an action adventure game ???? It doesn't make sense . If this game gets a sequel they have to do better with the gameplay. I can't just enjoy a story to a game , the GAMEPLAY has to be great to push me thru that great story . Or else it's nothing for me to look at a cinematic movie cutscenes ok UA-cam where all the scenes is together. And they have to make you play the others . Imagine a ninja turtles game where you only play leo ??? Or fantastic four , or x men where you are stuck to the leader cyclops. Smh I'm not at all happy about this game gameplay but I will buy it and see this thing out . Personally I think cats low expectations and when they seen the graphics and story overlooked that it has to be a great game as well . But I will see for myself
I really enjoyed this game. It sort of scratched the itch left by the gap that was Mass Effect's decline. Andromeda in particular was an embarrassingly disappointing cash-grab. Marvel's GotG on the other hand, seems more like the labor of love that was the OG Mass Effect. Of course, it's not a full 'RPG', but I felt a similar vibe. And some might see that as 'streamlining'. Not needing to micro-manage stuff between and during missions as much, as ME2 fans might say. Overall, I loved it. Great graphics, great characters, great story.. The only are some say may be lacking, is the potentially 'repetitive gameplay'. But I've found the problem is leaving it at standard 'bullet sponge' difficulty, higher settings do not make enemies smarter, it only makes your shots seem less impactful. Making StarLord's blasters seem like pea shooters... Increasing the damage dealt does this game a huge favor. Much better if you make adjustments..
My brutally honest opinion you're planning for Early Access version of the game it's not the full version and we all know everything is subject to change prior to release so it doesn't really help consumers
I wish they looked exactly how Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista & Zoe Saldana look in the movies. I wish they were actually voiced by them too. At least Rocket and Groot look perfect, but the others all feel like knock-off versions of those characters. There’s lots of great music which helps to make it feel like the real deal. The combat system is a bit crappy. The characters are true to their movie counterparts. The story seems pretty good so far. Not great but not terrible. I wish we could make a character build like in Borderlands. The graphics are sensational. I have a digital version of the game, and so far there’s been around six or seven instances of frame rate dropping. I would say I love the movies and like the game. I give it 7 out of 10. Hopefully I’ll get more into it as the story progresses, but I doubt I will.
Honestly I like the designs for Drax and Quill. It was weird for an hour, and now I think the movie versions feel weird because I enjoyed the performances in this game so much. Drax especially, I really like how they played him here.
I found all the game characters done much better than the movies. It does not feel like a knock-off in the slightest. The game makes it obvious that their goal was to not copy the movies. You do realize that GOTG existed long before MCU started making movies, yes???
Exactly what I was thinking, I wanna buy this game but worry that I’ll play it for a week complete the game then have nothing new to do and just never play it again
Looks like a mid version of Mass Effect reskinned with GOTG tbh. Maybe if they had gone more in depth with combat or allowed the option to switch between teammates but it seems like itd get boring before you even reach the halfway mark.
You can't compare to Mass Effect. I played the games remastered for the first time and it was way ahead of its time. Still, this doesn't look bad, but after Avengers, I can't risk it.
I'm probably one of the few ppl who think avengers didn't suck? I just think that since they went the live service route , the game should have been brimming with new content on a more regular basis.
@@zacqwan3525 Define good. From what i have seen there is action, but it seems to get repetitive the longer you play because of the limited abilities.🤷

@@user-fo6mo8ch9v 😞 lol Defintley a millennial lol. Back before open world games with endless endgame content there were just games. You played them you beat them you moved on to the next game and most of those games were hard enough that you felt a sense of accomplishment beating them. Now on the other hand I wish this game was gon a have some dlc but it isn't as of now so I'm taking my time and enjoying the ride. And when I finish I might go back and get all the collectible outfits and find all the secret areas and yeah probably on a harder difficulty. I hope that answers your question 😁.. Also that's what people love about the game its like God of War people want a AAA game that has a great story / Great controls and isn't buggy as shit needing thirty fucking patches till it works
Your point for it not being game of the year worthy because of the gameplay imo is wrong. The last of us had less mechanics than this, it played out like most 3rd person shooters (in the sense of shooting/lobbing grenades at things), was also pretty repetitive and most of the time you were encouraged to avoid combat to begin with and just stealth your way through those areas, especially because of ammo restrictions. It still got game of the year. Why? Because it's a linear storyline game just like this is. The focus in this genre is the story for the most part as you get to connect with the characters and indulge their experiences. It's like a movie but it's interactive. If anything the gameplay suits Peter in being arcade-like, as that's part of his generation and backstory. For any fans of the movies and especially the comics this nails the vibe. They make comments that you expect them to make whether it's in combat, figuring how to get around certain areas or just sitting on the milano and listening to them talk. I haven't played the Avengers game (for obvious reasons) but this is so good I'd say it's the best game to come out within the last couple of years.
Its strange how people think yhe gameplay is the most important an thing, yes it is the defining feature of video games but not the only aspect. Pretty much every highly regarded game has also a great narrative.
I don't care what you guys say. This game has terrible combat controls. I had more fun playing Avengers. There is so much hate for Avengers that everyone seems to be kissing the Guardians of the Galaxy games Ass. This game feels like more cut scenes than actual game play at times.
You’re literally the only person complaining and you haven’t had a first hand experience. People hated the Avengers game for a multitude of reasons which they fixed with this one and the combat is actually sick when you’re in the heat of battle.
i honestly feel like games like these games shouldn't be praised as much as they are the beautiful cutscenes has things clipping though walls/popping in and out and they are quite average. Like MARVEL couldn't do better? this is a very sub par game.
Yawn, cough 'shill'. This review is about as brutal as an all foam baseball bat. Sure the graphics are nice but the game play is dumbed down, auto aim assisted crap. If it was marketed as an interactive film then yes, 8.5 out of 10. It is not a game, more a cynical cash grab.

They have to pay for those rights bro. They can’t just put them into the game. It just wouldn’t be worth it. Game looks at least 8/10
Honestly I like the designs for Drax and Quill. It was weird for an hour, and now I think the movie versions feel weird because I enjoyed the performances in this game so much. Drax especially, I really like how they played him here.
Honestly Chris Pratt started Lord is nowhere near as good... he makes Star lord look like a dick and a joke in comparison
I found all the game characters done much better than the movies. It does not feel like a knock-off in the slightest. The game makes it obvious that their goal was to not copy the movies. You do realize that GOTG existed long before MCU started making movies, yes???
Wish there was like a battle arena or something because I would like to dive into combat without replaying the story all over
Exactly what I was thinking, I wanna buy this game but worry that I’ll play it for a week complete the game then have nothing new to do and just never play it again
It’s replay-able imo sorta like devil may cry yknow
My game lags like crazy. Playing on the series x. Almost every time during combat
Could be a hardware issue. That shouldn't be happening, especially if you're on performance mode.
I just got this today, and damn it's freaking great, looks so good too😀
Flarking*
The Guardians are more comic based. Of course it worked out!
Looks like a mid version of Mass Effect reskinned with GOTG tbh. Maybe if they had gone more in depth with combat or allowed the option to switch between teammates but it seems like itd get boring before you even reach the halfway mark.
Reskinned mass effect? What are you on about?
@@StarScreamReee just look at it. Its blatantly obvious ME was a blueprint for this game but brought barely anything original besides a different IP
You can't compare to Mass Effect. I played the games remastered for the first time and it was way ahead of its time. Still, this doesn't look bad, but after Avengers, I can't risk it.
Definitely over 90%! A masterpiece
This game is the best game I’ve played in 10 years and I don’t say that lightly.
Where’s the flarkin dlc man?!
So the game is not as bad as avengers ? I dont know if i should buy a bottle of vodka or this game
Why not both😉
Vodka
This game is totally better and it's also a good game
@@zacqwan3525 thank you :)
@@RoadBlockersG homie just wait till it’s on sale
Can play co op ?
0:02 dude, what?
I'm probably one of the few ppl who think avengers didn't suck? I just think that since they went the live service route , the game should have been brimming with new content on a more regular basis.
So what you are saying is that i should only watch movie walkthroughs? Got it!😁👍
Nah the gameplay is good too
@@zacqwan3525 Define good. From what i have seen there is action, but it seems to get repetitive the longer you play because of the limited abilities.🤷
@@kingtaco258 nah it's not really the gameplay is smooth and yes it's get repetitive after several hours playing but it's legit unboring, it's so good tho.... And u also can brought the ship at a time
@@zacqwan3525 If they had legit skill trees with active and passive abilities on top of combat system they have for diversity, i might have given it a try. This just seems like hitting the boxes of what the Avengers missed, but without the in-depth skills and abilities or the loot system of that game.
@@kingtaco258 I'm not really good in English but I really recommend you to play this game
final countdown was such a great ending
My score is a 10/10 for story and combat!!!!
After you complete the story what do you do ? Start over and does it get boring by doing that ?
Not impressed at al Beautiful yes ,fun no way to much repetitive combat.
I just got this game after bf2042 being disappointing
But the first chapter sold me
The Sacrosant ship was amazing
My “brutally” honest comment 🥶: Thanks for the review. Love your reviews.
I now call rain space trash thanks to Rocket
Uh way to spoil the plot and partially the ending
Oh noo what ever will you do now

This games visuals look amazing, all the hyped games have nothing on this.
dont forget that god of war ragnorock comes out next year!
The game is incredible on Xbox series x this game looks real and is funny and fun
Probably the best game I have ever played
huge marvel fan here feel like i gotta buy this one
Looks great but I’m waiting for PC reviews before buying.
Skillup did a PC review, he also recommends this game check out his review it's 30 min long

How can you even read them with those eyes?
@@jermainetilmon7793 meh no backbone he'd take a lot of backclash when he talk negative about a "MARVEL" game
I heard they have a rickroll that is built in-game
Second best marvel game. Hands down
WHATS THE FIRST? MILES?

Here is my BRUTALLY HONEST comment
Honestly a few more rpg mechanics and I could play this game forever
So this isn't as bad as avengers?
There is so much hate for Avengers
that everyone seems to be kissing the Guardians of the Galaxy games Ass.
This game feels like more cut scenes than actual game play at times.
You’re literally the only person complaining and you haven’t had a first hand experience. People hated the Avengers game for a multitude of reasons which they fixed with this one and the combat is actually sick when you’re in the heat of battle.
Was expecting a 6-7 got alot more than I expected give it a 8.5-9 overall
Is the final countdown !!!!!
I'm thinking of getting this after being disappointed by back 4 blood
i honestly feel like games like these games shouldn't be praised as much as they are the beautiful cutscenes has things clipping though walls/popping in and out and they are quite average. Like MARVEL couldn't do better? this is a very sub par game.
If you are playing a linear storyline based game solely for visuals then you are playing it for the wrong reasons.
I like this game, but the first couple chapters were pretty boring imo. The game gets better though
agreed
Amazing game actually now finished it. Not worth 70$ tho like tf
paid 30 brand new
I'm gonna say flark for rest of my life!
This game is great and why metacritic means absolutely nothing.
Lets see our mans opinion.
I flarking love it, i will be playing new game plus today
What is there to do after you complete story mode ?
And?? What's the verdict? What a waste. Bait
He literally described everything in the video. It’s spectacular
After the avengers game I can't risk it
Im playing it right now trust me its completely different do have similar fighting combat
Shit so confusing I bought asuras wrath again
Tbh very disappointed glad I didn't pay for it
I want a lobo game
Yawn, cough 'shill'. This review is about as brutal as an all foam baseball bat.
Sure the graphics are nice but the game play is dumbed down, auto aim assisted crap.
If it was marketed as an interactive film then yes, 8.5 out of 10. It is not a game, more a cynical cash grab.
You should try back 4 blood
This game is flarking amazing
