In this video I explain why inflammation in the lungs is bad. We explore the example of a SARs-CoV2 infection and how the subsequent inflammation effects the lungs. I jump into the problem of fluid in the lungs, the loss of surfactants, the build up of extracellular matrix and how all of this can make it difficult to get air into your lungs. I also explain why infections outside of the lungs can effect the lungs badly regardless the location of the infection and I jump into the problem of chronic exposure to inflammatory stimuli like diesel particles.

Hello doctor, I have a nephew he is 18 and has a continuous fever and asthma, the fever comes and goes and he has to go to hospital very often and his O2 level is low, the slightest scent triggers his breathing pattern, even when he tries to do deep breaths his diaphragm moves uncontrollable. His is very weak and has recently been complaining of burning while urinating. He has been vaping a lot until the episodes and fever suddenly came upon him for the past few weeks. Any help would be appreciated.
