No Offside Example

Excellent example of a player in offside position that received the ball from a defender. This play is no-offside and the goal should count. The AR cannot see clearly who passed the ball, but the CR should correct her mistake.

The CR's decision is correct in this case, as the defender deliberately stops the ball and the attacker who is already in the offside gained the advantage of being in that position. Deliberate attempt to stop the ball and Deliberate attempt to play the ball are defined separately by IFAB.

I guess you mean the deliberate save, which is the only expression apart from deliberate play when talking about offside. The defender was not protecting his goal, as the ball was not on target. The defender played the ball in this case, which negates the offside offense. The goal should stand.
