A little comics history: back in the mid 70's, Marvel writer Tony Isabella was doing a stint on Ghost Rider, (the first Johnny Blaze series). Tony started introducing a character that looked like Jesus Christ and served as a mysterious aid to GR for time to time. Ultimately, toward then end of his run Tony was to reveal that this was in fact the actual Jesus Christ (since Blaze had made his deal with the literal Devil not Mephisto (Marvel's usual stand in for Satan)) Blaze would have been redeemed and the Devil defeated, but Marvel editorial, fearing a lawsuit / public outrage, forced him to change it. So in a way, Jesus did exist in the Marvel Universe for time.
Man sorry to comment this far in time to your initial post . But even to this day a lot of this initial run is missing from the marvel subscriptions e-comic service. Your post just may explain why
From what I know, the Sun-Man line was created by a woman because her son told her he could never be a superhero because all of them were white. So, she made the line to help in promoting diversity with superhero style characters. Ironically, the company she started did a G.I. Joe knockoff line with African American soldiers (reusing some of the same molds). The company, Olmec Toys, folded. Now, the Sun-Man figures go on eBay, loose for at least $40. They're a bit of a collectible oddity.
And the Last 2 have got to be the best! This is probably what the commercial sounded like: "Now you can blast into action with the Mr.T Dinosaur Hybrid! That's right it's Mr.T with thrashing tail action! And if that wasn't good enough he can save the day in the Mighty Car and take out your other Dinosaur figures!"
The weirdest and most disturbing bootleg toy I recently came across was related to Paw Patrol. It came with a powder blue toy rifle and darts. On the cardboard targets are the characters from the show. Like I said weird and disturbing.
I'll say it again... That starcade episode was awesome... I won't stop saying it until people start watching it... I wonder what Barb is doing right now
Action Man is Adventure Man’s cousin. Don’t get the two mixed up, they get really upset about that. I guess that’s what you get when it’s Action versus Adventure. It’s a fine line to skirt! Lol
Great video mate! And the Star Knight motorcycle Star Wars rip off bootleg was hilarious! And it looked to me as if it had "GI Joe" on the front as you said. And the motorcycle looks like something from Kenner's M.A.S.K. Or Robocop and the Ultra Police. And Special Man's card art was just the best effort I've ever seen put into packaging! Like that's going to get people buying it!
The Night Rider becomes Robert that just kills me. It's a Gobot knockoff if that was even possible LOL. During the 1980s there were lots of knock-offs Believe It or Not of the Gobots and this is one of them where somebody took a Gobot and made a mold from it and then recolored it and proceeded to slap the Knight Rider logo on the package. To be precise it's one of the giant go Bots line. Are you aware that they had a line of knock-off Stormtrooper robots that were battery operated. They walked and had lasers that popped out of the chest I had one myself and it was why I thought the Stormtroopers were robots when I was young.
YES!! Mr.T .. Rex! I need that in my life fer sher! :) Lovit! I want the Mr.T van, too. :) That Superman pillow was creepy. Maybe it goes with the Mr.T van. Darth Vader on a police cycle should come with a Freddy Mercury figure double heading. :) Thanks for showing these :)
Junkman i think sun-man is the superman clone made by lex luther when superman throw mass destruction weapons in the sun. The sun-clone superman made with a hair in the 80's superman movie serie. I think it match the patern and clothing color
Mighty Car-my future self-driving car from 2025 Cut through traffic with a battle swipe axe Dice through congestion with a laser sighted uzi. Make that commute fun again!
I had a bootleg transformer called cassette man from the swapmeet,it came with three transforming cassettes, one was a bird,a dog and i forgot the third one😁
There is a convenience store in Kitchener that has had a Star Knight toy on the shelf for at least 20 years. Last time l was there they also had a few "Franz-Formers" action figures too.
sunmen were actually a kind of sort of bootleg they were actually their own toy line with their own storyline and they ended up being sued by the creators of He-Man and the Court ruled in favour of the toy line that made Sun men. There was a horrible He-Man bootleg line however called cave dwellers was also released as a wrestling figure line called Galactic rustlers cave dwellers or Galactic rustlers depending which packaging you got the men were a direct rip off of He-Man in the early 80s where are they tried to cash in On He-Man and wrestling figures. Some of them are actually quite rare and valuable. A lot of them had weird animal heads I think the horse head is one of the more valuable if I remember correctly. If you start poking around on eBay and such there were some really Bizarro bootlegs back in the 80s. Ninja Turtles was one of the toy lines that's gotten heavily bootleg several times with some really terrifying results. RoboCop is another example. There were quite a few different talking cyborg cop action figures as an example. There's a couple of videos talking about sunmen on UA-cam if I remember correctly they came out in 84 or 85. That's why it's weird that that one has packaging similar to the second run of He-Man. They came out a lot earlier than the second release line that came in the 90s. Don't get me started on all the really bad GI Joe rip offs during the 1980s
Hey Junkman, Thanks for the awesome 3 day deal on the T-Shirts, I picked up 2 Star Wars shirts. How about a t-shirt that looks like the boba fett underoo shirt. ; D
the dinosaur mr t is a limited run resin toy by the artist @labmonkeynumber9 (on instagram) if you ask him you might be able to commission him to make more! it was a designercon exclusive 2 years ago i think and im pretty sure only 10 ish were made
Phelan porteous owns almsot every toy you showed, not trying to say you ripped him off or anything I'm just answering your question about if anyone owns these bootlegs so yes they are real
Mr. T-Rex

Specialman comes with handicap parking plaque. It’s sorta his thing
I wonder if he's friends with Handi-Man?
Damn, I laughed a few times on this one. That Specialman needed a helmet accessory.
Star Knight . . . OMG!
I remember seeing Sun Man in the stores and thinking, "What the hell?"
Didn't Mattel make a real Sun Man like a year or two ago?
You can stuff it all right.
Nothing says "ninja" like a machine gun.
I pitty the fool who doesn’t have
back firing rockets
a Mohawk
Tiny T-Rex hands
80’s accurate Chuck Taylor hightops
Actually I think Knight Rider becames Robert was bootlegged off of a big GO-BOTS figure. Cool video, ty!!!
Yep If you do a search for knight rider becomes Robert you get actually photo gobot figure it rips it off
I would have said Ashens already nailed bootlegs, but this is definitely new ground.
From what I know, the Sun-Man line was created by a woman because her son told her he could never be a superhero because all of them were white. These were hilarious, thank you Junkman! :D
Love the "Mr. T-Rex" lol
remember that time the turtles mowed down the foot clan with their machine guns?
I’m dying laughing!! Awesome Junkman I lost it at the Superman Pillow!!!
That last Mr.T thing needs to be displayed over the mantle of the fire place. Or the adventurers club.
Oh my, was that Superman pillow sold in adult bookstores? We all know what whoever bought one did with it.
It’s 2AM and I can’t sleep, time to watch some Junkma-aaaaaargh! WHAT THE HELL IS THAT LAST BOOTLEG?!! I’ll never sleep again!
I think they would sold more Stuff-Hug-Play Supergirl Snugglers if they made them?
I think that Power Girl would sell even better!
Another great video Junkman. I can’t wait to get your reaction in the D23 news!
Had to rewind back to the snuggle and hug Superman made laugh for awhile
And the Last 2 have got to be the best! This is probably what the commercial sounded like:
"Now you can blast into action with the Mr.T Dinosaur Hybrid! That's right it's Mr.T with thrashing tail action! And if that wasn't good enough he can save the day in the Mighty Car and take out your other Dinosaur figures!"
Poor Lamont is caught by the alien!! I hope he can get away before the next video.
This is comedy gold... You're really hitting your stride
OMG Junkman you saved the best 2 for last. Again tears in my eyes from laughing too much.
I need that Mr. T-Rex figure.
A bootleg Junkman action figure. That would be epic
That made my freakin morning! Last one was too much! You rock, buddy!
...I have no words to describe how weird those toys are
MORE BOOTLEGS PLEASE JUNKMAN!!
Wow that Superman pillow...wow really!
Robert looks like a swipe of the Super Go Bot Zeemon.
I had that adventure man Rambo growing up.
Mr. T....Dinosaur? It's Mr. T-Rex!
The weirdest and most disturbing bootleg toy I recently came across was related to Paw Patrol.
It came with a powder blue toy rifle and darts. On the cardboard targets are the characters from the show.
Like I said weird and disturbing.
That Robert Trans Am looks like a classic GoBots figure design.
Does Looks like it’s ripoff gobots or Japanese toy line that one was from originally. I don’t think it was machine robo but could be wrong
Sunman is now official canon in the Masters of the Universe
And its about time to. Junkman, you should really do your research on Sun-Man,you might be surprised by the story.
This is the only you tube channel that makes me laugh out loud. My kids are like WTF. Thank you JM
The Mighty Car rofl thats classic Junkman good one mate.
Star Knight is so epic.... definitely tha Reece's effect for me....and strangely...even has the Missouri State flag on the side of tha bike...lol
"Two great tastes that taste great together, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups".
Tge action man Rambo was actually a one piece figure made of solid rubber. No moving parts. I got one at a flea market in North Carolina back in 88.
Yes more bootlegs..usually the local 98+ stores have some crazy toys
I had one like Star Knight, except mine was a police officer. Same motorcycle though
I love Mr T and need the Mighty Car & the Mr T Dino in my collection!!
I'll say it again... That starcade episode was awesome... I won't stop saying it until people start watching it... I wonder what Barb is doing right now
I guess that last figure was a mr T. rex
" I AM officer Darth Vader, I am an active member of THE FORCE, .....police force that is."
That smokey and the bandit was a gobot... probably
Yep, it was one of the "Super Gobots" that were released once Transformers came out.
Wyldstaar Studio yeppers 👍
@@WyldstaarStudios It looks like it was based on the Super Gobot Zeemon.
Action Man is Adventure Man’s cousin. Don’t get the two mixed up, they get really upset about that. I guess that’s what you get when it’s Action versus Adventure. It’s a fine line to skirt! Lol
The bootleg Robot is based on a SUPER GOBOT.
:)
I remember a neighbor kid that had that van, it's real.
The Adventure Man uses a He-Man/MOTU buck
Omg that super man pillow is so creepy,.lol
Mr T-rex..... I now have a purpose to my life!
Great video mate! And the Star Knight motorcycle Star Wars rip off bootleg was hilarious! And it looked to me as if it had "GI Joe" on the front as you said. I needs to get a Mr T rocket dino, that thing is dope!! Cheers for the awesome content Junkman.👍🍻
I had that Adventure man RAMBO!!!
Can you do the top 10 gentle giant Star Wars figures please??
I think the mask with the spiderman and iron man is supposed to be thor. His picture is on the bottom front hand side of the packaging.
The Night Rider becomes Robert that just kills me. It's a Gobot knockoff if that was even possible LOL. Well you do a good job of putting those pics together to make a video. 👍
I like wacky figures.
YES!! Mr.T .. Rex!
I need that in my life fer sher! :)
Lovit! I want the Mr.T van, too. :)
That Superman pillow was creepy.
Maybe it goes with the Mr.T van.

The closest Marvel character to the mask is the "Aquariun. "
The ninja turtle's did use guns when the comic book first started......it was originally more for adults....then later softened to cash in on kids .
Yeah, and didnt they fight vampires? Eastman and Laird era right?
Mighty Car-my future self-driving car from 2025
Cut through traffic with a battle swipe axe
Dice through congestion with a laser sighted uzi. Make that commute fun again!
5:32 Why is Superman's mouth open?!
Speaking of "Specialman" check out comedian Stephen Lynch's song, "A Little Bit Special". Guaranteed to make you laugh.
I had a bootleg transformer called cassette man from the swapmeet,it came with three transforming cassettes, one was a bird,a dog and i forgot the third one😁
That mask looks like Charles Manson instead of any Marvel Hero.
Cuta hole in the mouth of the pillow lol
I remember Sun Man from somewhere.

😧😧😧...A Mr. T T-Rex action figure with machine gun and rockets❗❗❗🤯🤯🤯
Somebody was on some kinda mind-altering drug when that idea was conceived...💯✔
7:39 To me the Mask's Face kinda Looks Hugh Jackmanish looking.
