Sometimes I think thumbnails are what makes videos popular, but there are also much older videos that don't plan a thumbnail or anything (like funny random animal videos you'd see that was uploaded 14 years ago) also gets popular. A thumbnail that pops, or a person who is able to get the point or have a vibe that gets people's attention. Love the video!

I recently started my channel and my first video did way better than I expected (it's almost at 30k views now and I went from about 50 to 2.5k subscribers in less than a week). of course, I would love to get better at editing and get faster at making videos, but completely agree that the storytelling and message should be prioritized and I think I made the right choice to focus more on that, even though I originally wanted to do something more visually impressive. And I totally agree that community building is extremely important for the success of the channel.
