I know it's not the point, but I think that you can never be at the top, or rather expect to be. My observation of life is that it is a big experiment, and it is okay to fail. If you are not failing, than it means you are not challenging yourself, and can you even expect to grow in such case? You always risking something in order to achive something. I mean, it's always been lonely at the top, and if you don't wanna feel that, do you really need to be there? Why you just can't enjoy your life, your progress and so on, while doing such a simple thing like communication. I really don't get it, why does everyone nowadays want to be super productive, super something to achieve something, for what? Just enjoy your stupid life and every moment in it, imho. The feeling of accomplishment is great, but in the world where you're surrounded by people, the last thing that you shouldn't do is the isolation.
When i was 23-24 years old (now i'm 33), i was in a private security company. Started military training at 19 y.o, for ideals and the want to change the world, i've lost my self during the path. I was alone, i wanted to be alone, being greedy and thinking only on carreer and money. Than i had an incident in patrol, were i am almost died. I wake up in hospital, many days after, and suddenly my way to see life is changed. I faced ptsd, then depression, i had to face the fact to be alone in the moment that i was really in need of someone with me, and i realized that carrer and money are not the only important matters on this planet. What is said in "into the wild" is really true: "happiness is real only when shared" and also find happiness in the little things of life, such as have a good day with friends/partner. Hey man. I'm all for happiness is best when shared. Same age as you. I've tried to "share" my happiness with a number of family and a few friends. Had some really bad stuff happen to me, confused and lost, on my own. Every time I try to "share", I always end up feeling used. I am still searching, and others are not. If there is a task, let the guy who is "free" take care of it. I have not found my tribe, people I can laugh and connect with. It's always awkward, and me feeling like I'm forcing myself or playing catchup. Already old, how do I share when everyone has already made their groups and theres no space for entry?

I feel like chasing a better life made me become depressed. I stopped going out, hanging out with friends to a a point where I don’t have anyone. On Topf of that I haven’t even succeeded:
There is a place and time where you grow as a person and you grow out of your previous friends shared interests but you haven't developed enough to create those new bonds, new links with other people that share these new interests you are developing, it's the hardest time but you must endure if you want to go to the next personal level and improve and move ahead. You can't change who you are and become a better person of yourself if you don't sacrifice who you are right now, it is the lack of feedback that makes you demoralized and I get it trust me, you just have to endure a little more.
It was my birthday too, 4 April. And I was like you, ADHD, desperate, broke, without family in a foreign country. I am half turkish and half ukranian. It's hard to be in country where everyone is saying that you don't belong to them and you should leave. It's almost a year I am here, and yet third time in row I am alone on my birthday. I discovered your channel not long time ago, and only because you have success and passion about productivity, I didn't KMS and still fighting this unfair world of opportunity. I'm 38 and I've been isolated for many years now. I live as a nomad in different countries because I don't have many friends or family left. It's a depressing life. You really need to foster healthy relationships. For me, it was mostly just unfortunate circumstances. Happy Birthday!

I think a lot of us went through that isolation period during covid, some did self improvement, others got worse (me) I just started feeling normal after the pandemic last year but it really did teach all of us we need other humans. Granted, I’m an introvert and mostly stay in the house or gym working on my goals, and myself but force myself once or twice a week to hangout with someone or like go to a yoga class. It’s about balance and finding what works for you! ❤️❤️

I can easily relate to your thinking. My mother works in a job where she is exposed to super tough physical conditions that are extremely demanding on the body and mind. Sometimes she goes to work barely able to walk and works for practically "no money". I would like to help her but it requires me to be successful in one way or another. I appreciate your story so much and I’m so glad you always reference your personal struggles. It puts life in perspective for me. I was very lucky in a way even though I come from the middle of nowhere, my dad, and my dad’s dad worked and worked and worked so I can enjoy the life I have today. I recognize that every day..but here I am working so hard and stuck in a dead end career in government not moving up in skills or anything really and it’s so frustrating. First I casually looked for new jobs and dream jobs and career paths for 2 years, then in the past 1 year maybe a bit more I have been grinding so hard to move up in life and it’s just not happening. It’s so hard and frustrating but then my logical brain tells me that I’ll be okay eventually, my grandfather spent 3 years in a pow camp in ww2, I can do ANYTHING and it will never come close to what he dealt with. That’s what keeps me going at the end of the day if I’m truthfully honest.
I agree! Monk Mode is only useful for a few months when you work on a significant business project. I prioritize going out with friends more and finish up all my work by the first half of the day

I'm a Chinese girl studing Physics and fight for an academia journey at the US. Sometimes, at night, I'll cry and think about the meaning of everything. It's not our fault. It's just the societal expectation is too high on us. I'm a freshman now and I choose the most credit I can choose in this semester. I'm in Physics research lab 10 hours per week. I do not have time to truly rest and I've forgetten the feeling of a TRUE rest such as lying on a beach or reading a book calmly. All in my mind is my success in GPA, social status, networking, etc. I definitely should learn more on how to reconcile myself. Thank you so much Ruri. I just got into Monk mode for 5 months and it changes my life, I partied, I gathered, I ate, I lived and I'm now 36. If I didn't start Monk Mode, my life would continue going down the sh*t hole. You're 23. I remember when I dropped out of college ASU at 23 and went back home. I didn't realize how exhausted I was because I would sleep for days... After 6 months of being back home. I was ready to leave and go back to the U.S. and strive to achieve my goals... most of it I wasn't even sure about... I don't think I really enjoyed life until I was 28 years old... So focused in my goals that I didn't really enjoy life. I enjoy life more and not feel bogged down in my late 20's to early 30's before getting married... but you know the trials and obstacles change as you age... Best o luck. Happy birthday, Ruri! I remember the time when I was a lone wolf. I pushed people away because I didn't want them to hold me back or influence my way of thinking. But at some point, I did ask myself what's the point of "improving myself" if I was gonna end up alone anyway. It was like I just lived in my own imaginary world. After that, I kind of measure my progress and values based on my social circle. If I am constantly surrounded by people I can admire, respect and look up to, who bring me joy and peace when I'm with them, then maybe I'm doing it right.

This hit at the right time of my life!! I'm 21, suffering from mental conditions and in general have the same backstory. My parents have been suffering for so long to make us have a good life yet they didn't get to rest for the past 40 years!! I really want to retire them and be successful, however, I realized that I come before everyone, even my family. I want to be relieved and not lonely. Trying to achieve my goals while surrounded by NPCs makes me isolate myself more. I ditched my friends group because they were not supportive and not as grown mentally as I am, they might not have hurt me in a big way directly, but I felt like that is the best for me. Mental struggle is a big hurdle, even the closest people to me (my family) don't have a deep understanding in mental struggles and it's hard to communicate my needs, it feels like I have to teach my "babysitter" how to "babysit" me in my struggles because my parents' generation is not used to communicating their mental struggles so there was no culture built around it. I've always been amazed by how honest you are. The first video of yours I watched was 'I grew from ZERO TO 100K SUBSCRIBERS in 3 MONTHS (& how you can too)', and I really appreciated how openly you shared your UA-cam journey. There's a Chinese saying - 将欲取之，必先与之 (You have to give to receive), and I truly believe you've achieved so much because you've given so much. Another thing that blew me away was how deeply you think, especially at such a young age! Thinking back to when I was 23/24, I wasn’t really into deep thinking. I just did what everyone expected of me and tried to fit in. ADHD is a gift rather than a problem. My best friend has ADHD and struggled with focusing. But as she learned more about it and stopped seeing it as something to 'cure,' she realized that while ADHD made it hard for her to stay focused, the divergent thinking sparked her creativity unlike anyone else. Instead of fighting it, she embraced it and found a balance between focus and ADHD, finding peace with it. Just like the 'Yijing (I Ching)' says, balance is the key. Happy birthday, Ruri! I just found your channel, So this is like the second video of yours I see and I basically took a shortcut to the best. Its really rare to see someone be so raw and honest. This really hit home. I had the same idea of a community to keep folks engaged and connected, building eachother up with only good vibes. I'm 38 and I've been isolated for many years now. I live as a nomad in different countries because I don't have many friends or family left. It's a depressing life. You really need to foster healthy relationships. For me, it was mostly just unfortunate circumstances.

I think a lot of us went through that isolation period during covid, some did self improvement, others got worse (me) I just started feeling normal after the pandemic last year but it really did teach all of us we need other humans. Granted, I’m an introvert and mostly stay in the house or gym working on my goals, and myself but force myself once or twice a week to hangout with someone or like go to a yoga class. It’s about balance and finding what works for you! ❤️❤️

My mother works in a job where she is exposed to super tough physical conditions that are extremely demanding on the body and mind. Sometimes she goes to work barely able to walk and works for practically "no money". I would like to help her but it requires me to be successful in one way or another.
I am currently in "miserable status" and am constantly working day and night to change that.

I appreciate your story so much and I’m so glad you always reference your personal struggles. It puts life in perspective for me. I was very lucky in a way even though I come from the middle of nowhere, my dad, and my dad’s dad worked and worked and worked so I can enjoy the life I have today. I recognize that every day..but here I am working so hard and stuck in a dead end career in government not moving up in skills or anything really and it’s so frustrating. First I casually looked for new jobs and dream jobs and career paths for 2 years, then in the past 1 year maybe a bit more I have been grinding so hard to move up in life and it’s just not happening. It’s so hard and frustrating but then my logical brain tells me that I’ll be okay eventually, my grandfather spent 3 years in a pow camp in ww2, I can do ANYTHING and it will never come close to what he dealt with. That’s what keeps me going at the end of the day if I’m truthfully honest.

I'm a Chinese girl studing Physics and fight for an academia journey at the US. Sometimes, at night, I'll cry and think about the meaning of everything. It's not our fault. It's just the societal expectation is too high on us. I'm a freshman now and I choose the most credit I can choose in this semester. I'm in Physics research lab 10 hours per week. I do not have time to truly rest and I've forgetten the feeling of a TRUE rest such as lying on a beach or reading a book calmly. All in my mind is my success in GPA, social status, networking, etc. I definitely should learn more on how to reconcile myself. Thank you so much Ruri. Without you, I don't know how I could pass this painful but great journey.

I just got into Monk mode for 5 months and it changes my life, I partied, I gathered, I ate, I lived and I'm now 36. If I didn't start Monk Mode, my life would continue going down the sh*t hole. You're 23. I remember when I dropped out of college ASU at 23 and went back home. I didn't realize how exhausted I was because I would sleep for days... After 6 months of being back home. I was ready to leave and go back to the U.S. and strive to achieve my goals... most of it I wasn't even sure about... I don't think I really enjoyed life until I was 28 years old... So focused in my goals that I didn't really enjoy life. I enjoy life more and not feel bogged down in my late 20's to early 30's before getting married... but you know the trials and obstacles change as you age... Best o luck. You are young and still have a lot of time to enjoy life. You are doing so much better and way ahead than you may think. Best of luck and thank you for sharing your story. Love ya Ruri!!!

I remember the time when I was a lone wolf. I pushed people away because I didn't want them to hold me back or influence my way of thinking. But at some point, I did ask myself what's the point of "improving myself" if I was gonna end up alone anyway. It was like I just lived in my own imaginary world. After that, I kind of measure my progress and values based on my social circle. If I am constantly surrounded by people I can admire, respect and look up to, who bring me joy and peace when I'm with them, then maybe I'm doing it right.

I’m going through a similar process. My mom get scammed last year and later on that leads to a divorce. I isolated myself from family and friends and have little hopes. But I know I like making videos, so I start my youtube channel this year, although I still making bad videos, I believe I can become better and achieve something someday.

I'm 21, suffering from mental conditions and in general have the same backstory.
My parents have been suffering for so long to make us have a good life yet they didn't get to rest for the past 40 years!!
I really want to retire them and be successful, however, I realized that I come before everyone, even my family.
I want to be relieved and not lonely. Trying to achieve my goals while surrounded by NPCs makes me isolate myself more. I ditched my friends group because they were not supportive and not as grown mentally as I am, they might not have hurt me in a big way directly, but I felt like that is the best for me.
Mental struggle is a big hurdle, even the closest people to me (my family) don't have a deep understanding in mental struggles and it's hard to communicate my needs, it feels like I have to teach my "babysitter" how to "babysit" me in my struggles because my parents' generation is not used to communicating their mental struggles so there was no culture built around it.

I've always been amazed by how honest you are. The first video of yours I watched was 'I grew from ZERO TO 100K SUBSCRIBERS in 3 MONTHS (& how you can too)', and I really appreciated how openly you shared your UA-cam journey. There's a Chinese saying - 将欲取之，必先与之 (You have to give to receive), and I truly believe you've achieved so much because you've given so much.
Another thing that blew me away was how deeply you think, especially at such a young age! Thinking back to when I was 23/24, I wasn’t really into deep thinking. I just did what everyone expected of me and tried to fit in.
ADHD is a gift rather than a problem. My best friend has ADHD and struggled with focusing. But as she learned more about it and stopped seeing it as something to 'cure,' she realized that while ADHD made it hard for her to stay focused, the divergent thinking sparked her creativity unlike anyone else. Instead of fighting it, she embraced it and found a balance between focus and ADHD, finding peace with it. Just like the 'Yijing (I Ching)' says, balance is the key.

I just found your channel, So this is like the second video of yours I see and I basically took a shortcut to the best. Its really rare to see someone be so raw and honest. This really hit home. I had the same idea of a community to keep folks engaged and connected, building eachother up with only good vibes. I brainstormed a lot but ultimately never followed through on the idea (which is sadly a pattern for many of my ideas lol) I am so happy to see someone following through on their ideas and making thing happen.
