Great video! People without true ADHD will never understand this and (naturally) think we are not being honest. But it's true and so frustrating to the point of being depressed about it.
Your ADHD videos are the best! I'm on meds and they don't do everything, they don't do miracles. They turn down the volume of the thoughts twisters but it's up to us to take control of our lives.
This video is like a warm hug to me. Remember guys, the best way to hold on to our motivation is to understand what we are doing so that slowly and gradually we can develop our own way to do things as ADHDers :) thank you so much Ruri, we love you .
The key to managing ADHD, in my view, is not suppression of the energy but rather channeling it in ways that are meaningful and in alignment with the individual's unique path. This means creating environments and routines that cater to the individual's need for variety, stimulation, and freedom, allowing them to express their natural energy without repression. Those with ADHD should embrace their unique energetic signature and use it as a tool for creativity and personal growth, rather than viewing it as a disorder that needs to be fixed. By understanding and integrating their unique energetic flow, individuals with ADHD can thrive by aligning with their true purpose and passions.
@CCP-pb5ss Emotions are like a compass. When I feel joy or excitement, I know I'm in the right place. When I feel frustrated or overwhelmed, it's a sign to change direction. By focusing on what energizes me and avoiding what drains me, I can regain balance and flow.
I also developed my own framework, based on physical and mental exercises, but I like listening to other peoples tips in order to incorporate them into my tool box. its a struggle but I believe that if you embrace it, when you overcome it is more rewarding.
I relate so much, really, I am still like this, because of the mental pressure, guilt, shame and self-doubt, I can't live in reality for most of the part... I was high performing till my teenage, I can't stand to think I am intellectually not enough now, but I can't even spend that much time on work, so it's not like I am intellectually challenged, it's like I can't spend the time to excel at something, and with my life, I believe I am intelligent.
In typical ADHD fashion I've rewritten this about 3 times - and what you're reading is totally different from previous 2-3 times. TL;DR: Check out CBT - cognitive behavioral training. I can't yet decide if ADHD brain going "Ugh doing all that CBT to work through stuff is a lot of effort - so actually let's just do the thing I 'really' didn't want to do" is good or yet another Loki type of trick. And it might not matter - as long as stuff I care about gets done.
Sorry Ruri, I already commented before, but I forgot something important. ADHD is not an excuse as others say; It is a very exhausting disorder that is endured with love, support and understanding. Your FOCUS method fits like a glove. Thank you so much. 😉🙏
Hi Ruri, thanks for sharing this. I realize that all your points about adhd are quite relatable to me, and for me just trying to connect all the dots to find my way to control of my mind
This is nice information, I had a heart attack and my cardiologist doesn't want me taking any adhd medicines after just finding out I had adhd as an adult. These tips I hope will help me but time will tell tyvm for the information!
Oh my god, are you my long lost sister? I exactly fit every condition you described, I watched many adhd video, they described many formers of adhd, but only yours describe exactly what I am like. And btw when you said cat video, I paused you video and started to watch cat video🤣
Interestingly, your videos are about ways of recovering from depression. I mean, that's how I'm figuring out about my problems. I've gained more valuable insights from your videos on how to anticipate pitfalls before getting stuck in bad habits. Thank you for the effort you're putting into your videos and sharing them with us.
Great content! I found it interesting how the video presents specific and practical strategies to deal with procrastination in the context of ADHD. I especially agree with the importance of prioritizing tasks by considering motivation and energy, as well as creating an optimized environment for focus. The inclusion of L-theanine as a natural option to achieve a calm-alert state was an innovative and useful point. These tips go beyond generic advice and truly address the specific challenges faced by those living with ADHD. Thank you for sharing!
@ I forgot to tell you this. I feel the same as yours. In my case it’s depression, it’s very hard and don’t go away. So in order to ignore it, I draw something I feel beautiful and cool, so that I can get into meditation ✍🏻😌. Good luck Ruri San👋🏻👋🏻
Hey, Since I started to watch your videos, I've got more confident on myself & I started to learn new language as part of my improvements. Thank you :)
I recommend Language Reactor and other similar applications to watch media. Comprehensible input was what allowed me to learn English, and what I'm currently trying to implement with Japanese.
Regarding the heavy clothing: It's not the same, but putting on nice(r) pants instead of sweatpants, or put on shoes if you work from home or just some small changes that make you feel like you're at an office instead of home, can make such an improvement (at least for me). Just like brushing your hair, put on some make up, washing your face or simply anything that makes you feel like you didn't just fall out of bed, can create such a shift! Also, the visually pleasing point you made is so relateable. As someone with ADHD, all this makes such a difference to me.
Hey Ruri, you are a real inspiration. perfect timing on this great video, getting the free sheet, very generous of you, thank you so much and love from London
I recently found body doubling on the recommendation of my cousin who's also adhd. I've never used the phrase game changer for anything I've tried but body doubling solves enough of the challenges of adhd to deserve the title.
I have adhd so does my gf. A lot of it requires you to stop making excuses to yourself. Also try and be interested in things you feel bored with otherwise you really won't pay attention to it.
@magvs_mæstro216 Thanks for the comment! I don't necessarily consider myself or my girlfriend 'high potential individuals' in the way it's often defined in professional settings. While we both have strengths and areas of growth, being 'high potential' typically refers to people showing a lot of promise for future leadership or significant roles. I think we're just individuals navigating life and doing our best to grow and improve in our own ways.
Ah, I like the focusmate recommendation. Ive tried some of the study ones, but since I'm old and working from home, not studying, it didn't feel right. I like that you're throwing in a bit more science.

@ Age is just a number. 30 (when you finish the regular course) is still young. I’m 39 and only now graduating, it took forever because I chose a path that I didn’t love. Time is going to pass anyway. Imagine yourself 5 years from now and what your life is going to look like whether you say yes to the challenge and if you say no. Compare. Think, rationalize, try to calculate the costs of both doing it and not doing it; but also feel, allow your intuition to speak to you. You will know in your heart if that’s your path. If it’s just a fear based on your age than it’s just an emotion, it doesn’t mean that because you’re afraid you shouldn’t do it. Do it anyway, your future self is counting on you. Your decision though, best of luck to you whatever you choose, and happy holidays! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

I had or have all of this. What I decided was to get a job where I can not look into my phone or computer. I went back into society working with people in physical value... because staring at my phone and computer made me overly stimulated.. never knowing what I want to do...or wanting to do it ALL ..which is not a practical thing. There are so many options in life and our minds crave all of these experiences but we really need to focus on a few.. a few.. I’m sure I’ll listen quite a few more times! 😂 I think I have adhd!! 😅
I am scheduling hours after hours for the last four months to write a 100 page model review report for work, and am not working. Today is the final day, hard deadline, I have to submit it in 6 hours, and honestly, I am not finding the trust in me that I'll get it done, but I have to get it done, otherwise, my job, which is like 90% gone for sure, will be 95% gone.
The end of the year drawing closer has been a hack for me with ADHD. It's a deadline that's obviously nearing, but it already made me just get up at 6AM and get sh*t done. I am in no way going into 2025 doing the same things I've been doing for years that clearly got me nowhere up to this point. (Ps. hair on fleek 👀)
Hello, Ruri! I enjoyed watching your video. Just a small request, could you make a video of you chatting about your medical school life in Italy? I would definitely want to learn more about the medicine education in Europe! Do you listen to lectures in English? I would love to hear from you❤️
So personally I actually don’t really have that problem of doomscrolling anymore, but I used to have it quite badly. Though I still have other addictions while taking breaks, like drawing or reading things that I like. Sure it makes me feel less bad when I don’t end up doing something on my homework, then when I’d end up doomscrolling, but it still bothers me.
Believe it or not, all of the traits of this condition are identical with a developmental phase in normal brain development. Discipline really is the answer, because there only alternative is to drift in possibilities. One mustn't expect it to be rewarding, one must recognize if it is necessary and simply do it. Simply, do, it. There is no other way. For example, if you know you "should" stretch, but you don't, you will always find other things to do. But if you don't like being on a strict schedule (and is one always necessary anyway?), then you might try simply doing it whenever you think about it. Later, you can do it within some period of time after you think about it. Later you can do it another time, but you will remember that you thought about it but didn't do it. Later you will think about it in a new way, in a way; that you have trained your brain to understand is a sort of "excuse" to do it: because you thought about it (and perhaps with the proviso that you hadn't done it that day or recently). Later, you find yourself doing several times a day, whereas for years you wouldn't even get yourself to do it once.
I've summed up the problem in myself, here it is in case anyone finds it helpful: Problem: prioritising Core of the problem: fear of forgetting to do something important a.k.a. fear that if I don't do the thing right away I will never do it. Solution: folder for my life, with these ideas and plans set in time
I like it when you giggle, it stimulates my brain in a way that's just ahhh feels so good (◕ᴗ◕✿)❤ Anyway, that 2nd tip was something I needed to hear, I'm gonna try it right now :)

I would love to hear from you❤️
I love your videos they are so helpful, but I would also love to see a life update from you!! For ex, your life in Dubai and so on😚
So personally I actually don’t really have that problem of doomscrolling anymore, but I used to have it quite badly. Though I still have other addictions while taking breaks, like drawing or reading things that I like. Sure it makes me feel less bad when I don’t end up doing something on my homework, then when I’d end up doomscrolling, but it still bothers me.
Thanks Ruri.
Yes my lady friend ❤im from singapore C4.Key hope who leaning deep is true.
Finally found someone who loves dopamine as much as I do. 😂
a 27 minute video is too long for my adhd brain🗿🗿🗿
I use 2x still long🥲
Believe it or not, all of the traits of this condition are identical with a developmental phase in normal brain development.
I've summed up the problem in myself, here it is in case anyone finds it helpful:
Problem: prioritising
Core of the problem: fear of forgetting to do something important a.k.a. fear that if I don't do the thing right away I will never do it.
Solution: folder for my life, with these ideas and plans set in time
Me with adhd procrastinating studying watching this video
I always comment "I needed this" but I procrastinate every one of them. I hope I watch this after work :/
I think meds are a must, at least for me, good video regardless
I like it when you giggle, it stimulates my brain in a way that's just ahhh feels so good (◕ᴗ◕✿)❤
Anyway, that 2nd tip was something I needed to hear, I'm gonna try it right now :)
1 of the best!
