I’ve always had the idea of Zangeifs Level 1 being a lot like Potemkin Heavenly Pot Buster. Catching at least most aerial opponents. But when he whiffs he’s but in an air state instead and can do any air move. Making in an actual reversal. Oh and fix lariat, Demon flip cross ups are annoying.
I genuinely don’t think they’ll make lariat hit behind. They think that’s by design. However, raising the hitbox so he doesn’t get tapped out of Lariat (especially EX) when a LP or LK grazes his head would be awesome. Or making ex Lariat invincible, even partially.
You don't need Zangief specific knowledge to climb to Master. Get better at the fundamentals (applies to every character) and you will get to Master quite easily. Don't over extend, punish your opponents when they overextend or make mistakes. React to DIs. That will pretty much get you to Master.
Nice highlight about the DI range or lack of it, this is the issue for me with SF6, I feel like I am playing a different game to the rest of the cast at times, I am fighting my opponent but also the universal system. I have been going on about this for a while actually, his frame advantages don't make much sense because most of his normals are too slow, headbutt is amazing but then what else do you have; either increase his frame advantages or reduce start up frames for some of his normals. The more I think about it, the most I think that we are supposed to play Gief vastly differently compared to the rest of the cast; maybe we should be more aggressive, force more guesses from opponents as this is the core principle of the game (your attack or defence is never guaranteed).
It's a curious match up. Bison doesn't have good reversals, thus you can take that and continue pressure very often. Getting that first KND tho? Very difficult. He dominates the neutral. In most scenarios, Bison dictates the pace of the match.
Hey grappler sensei! Did you see the Brazil World Warrior grand finals? Zangief_Bolado did cr.HP -> DR -> knee -> hellstab… and no Lariat! He did this punish combo twice and I don’t understand why. Any thoughts?
I still don't know why so many pros are putting Zangief in S tier. Solid A, but having so many tools still fundamentally broken keeps him down there no matter how many times you get bodied by Kobayan.
@@vicente321 It depends on the punish. Gief's 5-6f punish HEAVILY outdamages Marisa's, since she doesn't have a medium that's 6f. All her 4-6f punishes are heavily scaled because she has to start with lights, whereas Gief stands well above the pack with a 2895 - 3910. Basic example is a blocked Drive Reversal, which Gief obliterates for no meter. Marisa's tickling you in comparison.
you're in luck, the last patch juiced it up! I use it during dr on knocked down opponent as you can now combo it into hellstab>lariat. keeps them guessing on their wake up. i think you can also frame trap with it now as well with the spd, similar to Standing MP.
Blah blah blah, fix lariat... Making the stomp hit low would make it usable (maybe). I just wonder sometimes why game designers make choices like giving marisa an arsenal of armor break moves and characters like zangief 2 moves with 1 hit of high armor.
I honestly think stomp being a low would fix nothing for the move. It has to be faster and have better follow ups with different scaling and plus frames.

FIX BELLY SPLASH

@@Vlikdude Maybe, but it's smaller than it's ever been in any other SF game.

Hey man, thanks for the guides.
Currently struggling with Plat 3, but your videos let me go through gold 5 to plat 3.

Everyone is saying Zangief beats Bison. Is that true? A matchup video would help me because Bison feels oppressive to me

1st, very new 2 gief. Your channel is very helpful
I hope the content helps. Enjoy!

Hi! It's for oki. You are around +10 in that scenario. While it seems huge, it's mostly used to bait a DP or super.
@@SiberianLab thank you grappler sensei!
id be interested in a combo that allowed a side switch, even if its low damage having some more utility with combo would be nice

Japanese pros just see the damage he does on punish yet they don't bat an eye whenever marisa does the same thing but better lol.

maybe crLK > crLP > crMK but I get Drive Impacted to death with that, it works maybe once per match.

A longer +7 DRC that deals the same damage as 2mp. Meter built is not as good as 2mp.
Make his hp armor break like Marisa gladius, also make it so it doesn't get beat by mid hitting moves like Blanka cr mp
I think it'd be on brand with Gief to break armor with 5HP. At least, the fully charged one.

Nothing to fix. Better to accept that now and take the game on its own terms.
