Wow, great job! The sheath/blade protector turned out excellent and its a breath of fresh air when it comes to sheath designs/options. There is little doubt that you are no stranger to side grinders. The accuracy and smoothness of how you handle definitely catches the eye of those that have used one. Lol.
Hi, thank you. I can see from your comments that you appreciate the knife making craft and understand that to make a good quality blade and sheath takes time and patience. In the first video I wanted to show that a well made knife from a good quality of steel will not loose sharpness so easily. The stand I made myself. Thanks again.
looked like the rear edge of the blade didn't get quenched and wont be as hard, you held it upside down. Would have been better to dunk it in the oil edge first, doesn't matter if the spine is soft. I feel like I would lose that pin pretty fast but a nice piece of work.
Hi. Thank you for your comment. The only advice I can give you is to be patient and try different methods until you find one that's unique to you.It takes time to learn this craft. Best of luck.
@@zo-lib4564 year I can see it’s not a afternoon job 🤣 What kind of oil are you using and have you headed it up? And is there some special anti rust steel I should buy?
@@martinbankjorgensen I use N690 stainless steel, it has excellent features. After hardening process I quench the knife in regular vegetable oil, I warm the oil to 60 Celsius.
Thank you for your comment but it's very difficult to show all the important steps in a shorter video. If someone wants to make a knife like mine he will need to know all the steps. I am thankful for your comment and interest anyway.
ANYONE would be PROUD to own THAT knife !!!! JOB WELL DONE !!!!
Thank you so much for your comment.

Good job buddy. Enjoyed it. Subbed ya.
Thank you very much.
Thanks for the video. The knife is beautiful. Could you explain a little where the taper is on the pin. Is the whole pin tapered. Is the hole tapered?
Thank you for your comment. The hole isn't tapered but the pin at the end is larger so it stays in the hole.
That's not a cleaver by any means but watched for the sheath. Nice
THAT is some serious craftsmanship skills you got there! Holy sh** 😱 That is SO beautiful made! Some advice to a beginner?

At which temperature did you heat the steel at?
Thanks for your comment. The blade is made from 1.4528 stainless steel,is similar to N690 ,it was heated to 1050 degrees Celsius.
