Tongue belongs in sandwiches. It’s a proper deli meat that I’ve eaten since childhood. This sandwich, that I would’ve made with an old-time deli seeded rye bread, sounds delicious. The bread is the only change I’d’ve made. Use the Colton-Basset Stilton, it’s so so good. Homemade egg yolk mayonnaise is the best, gherkins aren’t very sweet but in cutting through all that richness they are perfect. Finally, the slightly pungent peppery freshness of raw watercress is what IMO ties all the flavors together while delivering its own slight punch. Tongue holds all these strong flavors together, its own unique flavor coming through clearly without being overbearing. Don’t you think that the unique caraway taste in seeded rye would lend a soupçon of heaven to this sandwich? I do!
Bought cow tongue for the first time today (ready packed) im not a big cow-fan because i dont think it taste...anything really , but now ive tried oxtail, the stomach and the tongue and the «nasty» parts like that i think taste Great and a lot more than the actual meat 😂😂, so tongue? Yeah Great to use on for example a sandwich !
