Michael Buerk is a good interviewer and presenter, chefs Paul and Anna clearly love what they do. Excellent episode.
Michael is definitely the antagonist of the three. LoL😂
Dunno if you guys gives a shit but if you guys are bored like me during the covid times then you can watch all the new movies and series on instaflixxer. Have been streaming with my brother for the last few days xD
@David Patrick definitely, I have been using instaflixxer for years myself =)
Michael Buerk is annoying and unnecessary interviewing two passionate chefs especially Paul who doesn't need assistance or someone who rather talk about Royals and their personalities and lifestyles almost as much as the food they ate.
@@latishiabedwards1423 umm.. the show IS about royal recipes (mostly the historical ones), that’s why Michael is the presenter (host.)
I enjoy Chef Paul the most. He has a friendly personality and comes from a foodie background . His father owned a B and B .
I love watching a chef who loves kitchens, food, cooking, and eating. Such enthusiasm is catching!
Me too
It must be nice to have you’re own cook 👩🍳 in a castle 🏰 or palace?I’d be spoiled if someone cooked for me,every night! But,it would be a dream 🛌 come true!
They banished Mrs. Crocombe from her Audley End kitchen! How rude.
Alex B Did you notice he was cooking on a hot plate & had to leave the doom to chill the pudding? They weren’t in her main kitchen!
@@lhzook That kitchen might be the real kitchen from the old days.
Place probably has 3 or 4 kitchens in it.
I thought the same
No one dares violate the sanctity of Mrs. Crocombe’s main kitchen!

Michael Buerk is a treasure! Just love him!
Michael Buerk is producing really important pages of Historical Cuisine. Admiration!!!
I honestly think the 50s was the best style Era. The ladies looked so lady like and the men looked like gentlemen but everything seemed so...modern at the same time.
you are beautiful ❤❤❤
No no no. The 50s were hideous.
@@virginiagrundman4012Compared to now???? People wouldn’t DARE wear half the crap people wear nowadays for fear of being lambasted by society
@@ZheeYoYo I agree BUT 50s women fashions were hideous. AND yes, Americans dress like slobs.
@@virginiagrundman4012 at least they still knew the difference between a man and a woman!!!!! Unlike all of the pure ROT going on today!!!!!
I love the banter they have back and forth- the chef and the presenter. Lots of laughs.
Ian Kirk and his teaching fly fishing is the best part of this episode. "First part was fantastic...the second part was horrible! Lol"
They should write a royal recipe book. 🤤
Good news they have! One of the last British monarchy cookbooks was released in 2002 called The Coronation Cookbook released in 2002 during Queen Elizabeth II’s reign :))
tutto che ha garlic and corliand in the recipe are orrido
Wish they had a weekly program! ❤
If it’s not Mrs Crocombe... well I’m not eating.
Some of those dishes do appear tasty, I do wish they would provide an online cookbook or something that would really give us a chance to try it at home.
I could listen to Chef Anna and the Gillie talk all day long. Loved that segment! 🎣
It's hilarious to me how Paul and Anna hand things over to Michael for the fridge/oven. Just a bit of... "If you drop this, you're off the show, so take care!" energy. :)
Excellent royal recipes. A recipe book would be fantastic.
This Yank ordered a LOVERS KNOT (replica) Tierra, a PRINCESS of WALES engagement ring, pearl drop earrings.
Now I need some very 🇬🇧British fare for a good Luncheon with a few friends.
Glad I stumbled upon this presentation
Would just live a Royal recipe cookbook! What a wonderful thought!❤
Thank You, Chef Buerk....I LOVE the importance you bestow on the various events that menu's are established and prepared. Particularly something as IMPORTANT as a Coronation! In THIS instance, 50 years of a VERY famous recipes...including Melon Balls...and sometimes Coronation Salmon. Included in THIS video is Chef Paul Ainsworth. In His opinion...it is "Coronation Chicken". He presented a "pink" chicken prepared as Queen Elizabeth, herself, wanted done. In this video, the Chef prepares
the " Coronation Chicken " so we may understand what it represented to the Queen. The stock is very important for the flavor. For instance, Yogurt and Mayonnaise are very important for the recipe. Chicken breasts is the meat Only. Moist and Tender, which is the important factor. Finishing the chicken with a "Coronation of Coriander" to top it off. Beautifully prepared and executed by the Chef....Thank You!
Thank you so much, I was able to recreate Paul’s Coronation Chicken and we love it! ♥️
I love Paul. Hes so upbeat and nice.
Wow! Everything looks scrumptious!
Have to try these dishes out ! The online preparation by the chef is so clear 🥰
ITA!! Both of them do such an excellent job of explaining exactly what & why they're doing things the entire time. That’s really rare w/most Chefs on TV these days I find.
Same....I am willing to try all of these foods as well. I want yo eat like royalty❤
I use to *love* when watching _Upstairs, Downstairs_ the camera would pan in and slowly go down a well set table, allowing the viewer to study all the little details. Such perfection!
How dare to compare Marie-Antoine Carême with Jamie Oliver. Oliver doesn't even play in the same league as Carême and Escoffier.
I think the comparison speaks to the widespread recognition of Oliver and Careme. He's saying that despite no TV, Internet, and radio, Careme was a widely recognized name.
Jaime Oliver🤣
Agreed
I must agree with Jana. He should have compared Careme to Newton or Einstein. All three men put down the fundamentals on which later generations of greats built upon. I am aware that this comparison is still controversial, but I’m just chipping in with my 2 cents’ worth.
I wish he'd follow original recipes, especially Mildred Nicholls'. But to "put a take on" Coronation Chicken with coconut milk and no red wine?!!
HOW CAN I FIND THE WRITTEN RECIPES FOR THE FOODS PRESENTED? tHEY LOOK SO DELICIOUS i CAN'T WAIT TO MAKE THEM.
I love Michael and Paul's relationship
I love the way the cooks show their cooking esp herbs i love to buy the recipe book if there is
Lovely to see all these excellent recipes😋🔝
That pudding cake looks awesome. I'm going to see if I can make something close to it.
I wish Paul had his own channel 🥺
Great channel, I alwats love search for non traditional food. Something different and special to Cook.
we made this coronation chicken and it was wonderful!
Absolutely fabulous
I just like watching the old guy eat. 🥰
Lol. Michael shows his bliss with each taste .
I can't even take this in, it's so over- the- top
Wow! Fit for a King. And his Monarchy. Oh I’d love to have that Royal cookbook
Wonderful presentation, I really enjoyed it
It was my understanding the Queen did not like/eat spice or garlic (from documentaries &reading) Maybe this is why it was served to 'foreign guests' (if I recall correctly, it was because garlic=bad breath, which isn't good when talking to dignitaries and spices - in case it upset her 'constitution'. ~I prefer Nigella's 'Jubilee Chicken'. That's more up to date & yummier to me
I prefer Nigella too.
I’ve made Nigella’s chicken (and quite a few of her other recipes.). I’m making her fish finger bhorta today for fishy Friday.
@@m.theresa1385 Yum!
Great segment!
Where can you get the exact recipes? They don’t give amounts, etc.
Sorry why aren't we having the historical recipes? No reason to re-invent the wheel.
Agree with you! Hopefully we can google the original recipes.
Please, if you find them, paste the links here!
I always squeeze half lemon when cooking chicken. It takes away that game taste and it tastes delicious 😋
looks great
I recognize Mrs. Crocombe's mixing bowl.
Is there a cookbook available with the recipes from the series?
I thought they were going to cook the menu for Charles Coronation. We got tricked!
I just noticed this. Was this filled at 11:37pm, so almost midnight? Based on your watches it looks like almost midnight. If so, wow, thank you for your commitment.
Funny that these aromatics are so exotic for Royals when in India and the east, they eat with all these aromatics and exotics every day🤣
Well to be fair, “English cuisine” isn’t exactly the most succulent of dishes on the planet. Indian and the east have far superior flavors than what England can offer.
I really want these guys to try some Texas BBQ…or Kansas City BBQ. I think it would change their world. 🤣👍
Proper Regal ❤️😋 Crème Ala cream looks so yumm…
the lady in the black shirt doing melon balls had a cool ring
I can't believe the structures in the UK. It's astonishing
Just exquisite.
Seeing a modern person in a suit with an antique crown that is obviously a tad too small for his head size is ludicrous.
I’d rather see how the coronation chicken was made for the coronation. I don’t much care what the modern chefs ‘take’ on it is. I watch this show to see how prior generations cooked and ate. If I want a modern take, I’ll watch a modern cooking show.
If there's a "modern take" on something historical, it can often mean that the original ingredients and method resulted in a dish that may not appeal to today's palette. They remarked on the original recipe tasting bland - which is a reasonable criticism of a recipe from the early 50s when spices, particularly curries and similarly "hot" blends, were used more sparingly. What Paul's done is actually a great improvement on the dish with a relatively small change in method and the inclusion of a couple new ingredients - visually more appealing and with a more complex and layered flavour profile.
I find the chicken looks particularly unappealing: no color on it, being poached and then topping it with fancy mayo. Pass, Michelin star or not. Sorry.
@@amanda7263 I agree. Neither version of that "Coronation Chicken " looks good to me.
In 1953, rationing was still in effect in the UK. By contrast, rationing in the USA had ended in 1947. UK rationing ended July 4, 1954, almost ten years after the end of WW II.
Incredibly BOORING
Oh no, there is Matt in his signature wrinkled shirt.
looks like he just got out of bed
Its what most professors and historians probably look and dress like 😂 as a history major in college one of my professor’s offices had piles of books everywhere and all over his desk- i find historians like matt amusing because they remind me of those college days and the professors who are too busy looking harried, staying up late grading essays and writing their own essays and books- typical professor and historian 😂🤣
Wow, did I just see a Lemon Pudding with Vanilla Wafers!
Where can one find the recipes for these dishes?
So nice they’re converting these old recipes to healthier versions. We know 2,000 guests were invited to Charles’ coronation, but wonder how many were actually invited to his coronation meal?
RIP Edinburgh Chef,
Paul Kitching 1961-2022
Royal Famous beautiful kitchen and food
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 who would’ve thunk the British had such amazing food
It’s too indian though I understand it’s context
Where can we buy the cook book.
Where’s the recipe? Share!
40:37 Did my eyes tricked me, or did they shoot this show at Tuesday the 1st, 23:57? Three minutes before midnight? 😯
If everyone eats garlic, everyone smells like garlic.
That reason doesn't wash.
She just must not like it.
Nordstrom, a department store in US, known for their attention to detail, wouldn't let their sales people eat garlic (I cooked at the flagship, store, in Seattle, in the corporate dining room-no garlic allowed in the food).
@@thecook8964 Well, I eat garlic...and plenty of it!😂
2 YEARS AGO, HE WAS JUST CORONATED THIS YEAR.
At 29m30s there is a spiderweb on a candelabra. For shame!!! The Queen Mother would be spinning in her crypt.
wrong, Her Majesty would have not approved of the modern coronation chicken because of the use of onions.
She disliked garlic, I never read that she disliked onions
@@imisstoronto3121 well she's dead now so it don't matter no more
Now I'm hungry...
Isn't poached chicken a good way to get salmonella or is it safe ?
Good morning everyone
Loveley.
the chef and the old guy don't seem to like each other
He is impatient with the chef.
Much different with the female chef.
Not seeing that at all.
I picked up on that too
I'm not getting that. They seem comfortable disagreeing with and teasing one another.
Michael can't hit on the chef this time. lol
Shows us Original dishes not modernized.
I am going to launch a restaurant in that's for sure
Royal recipes 🌹
Salmon is not the best fish. Very common river fish. 1. Silver Promfret 2. Cod Fish (Alaska) 3. Red Garoupa 4. Wild River Marble Goby (Malaysia) 5. Dragon Tiger Garoupa (Hybrid-Sabah Malaysia). These list of premium fish is so delicious. For lazy. Use cod Fish the best. Giant River Prawn : Thailand. Can air flown them in. Look good serving just one piece on the plate. Never fail to impress the vip guests of their premium size
❤❤❤❤
what is the Estate's name? Couldn't quite catch that.
*Audley End House* is a largely early 17th-century country house outside Saffron Walden, Essex, England. It is a prodigy house, known as one of the finest Jacobean houses in England.
River Moy Salmon is an excellent 👌 Salmon
❤
As much as I enjoy this program, I wish that Chef Paul would learn some new adjectives besides "lovely".
Charming, however where are the "Royal Recipes" we're lead to expect?
I ship Anna and the Ghillie
Why do they always say Michelin star chefs? A chef is not awarded a Michelin star, a restaurant is. It can also be taken away.
I just wanted a list, maybe with short descriptions. That's all. But I'm sure if I really wanted it that's online. I'm not interested enough to bother though. Someone who lives on cereal can live without all this.
While so many in the UK are barely making ends meet, these grifters gorge themselves. May they sink in their own sh...t.
This Indian curry recipe in no way ressembles any Coronation chicken recipe. It's just Indian food, which may good but can't be called "a take" on the original Coronation chicken.
DOES ANYBODY EVER TRY TO SWIPE THAT CUTLERY??
You said traditional, but you show cooking for Sunik.
If the chicken is bland it is probably because he used the breast. Would be much more tasty with chicken thighs. Much more flavorful.
Neither recipe of Coronation Chicken sounds good to me.
They had light in the kitchen but no ventilation. I'm bet that smoke inhalation from the cooking fires contributed to the death of Careme and a lot of kitchen staff back in the day.
I'm sure there was a chimney.
@@bluefaery1865 I'm sure that they did but it wouldn't eliminate the byproducts of the multiple cooking fires. Modern kitchens have a ventilation 'hood system' for this reason. One night our restaurant's ventilation went out during dinner service. Within one hour the air was horribly smoky and the guests were very unhappy in the dining room. If it's like that with gas I can't imagine wood. 😬
I like to learn Queen's posh British accent and higher English within 6 months. I like to come to London 2021. Please tell me what is the best way to do my idea possible. Still I am in intermediate English level. Please help me.
I'm surprised they popped entire thing into their mouths! Their mouths seemed over full-just imagine- choking in front of the queen! How would one go about choking 'politely' so as NOT to offend the Queen & her guests?
What is the strangest thing that the royals eat or have eaten?
6:00 mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, boiled chicken.
Where is the roast beef or prime rib and yorkshire pudding
Where is the recipe?
