Nice to see a regular guy not ones running around in a $100 k camper you make a person feel they could do the same thing I'm 78 and get out with my Mamiya C33 and Fuji xt20 as much as I can You are an inspiration thank you Subbed
It’s always a good day when you post! In an era where most of us has a short attention span your videos are among the few that catch my attention and hook me in, I can watch them without checking my phone or thinking “how long is this?!”. And as a side note I recently started taking portraits of people and it is the scariest thing (idk why), I always thought pros like you plan every shoot shot by shot. It was kind of comforting to see that it’s not the case and even you make up/change stuff on the fly. :) P.S. FM 7 was one of the best purchases I made last year, can’t wait to edit more photos with them.
Nice and chilled video, especially if you watch it from a warm, heated room ;-) ....... great shots, I love the Portra 800 6x6 ones a lot, great colors and rendering ! Thankx !! .....
I really like you way of making UA-cam videos. Very enjoyable. You’re making beautiful pictures in that weather! I live in a similar climate (Sweden) and it’s hard to find motivation to get outside shooting when the weather is just a gray cold snowy mess. Keep up the good work and keep posting. Greetings from Sweden
V chill, loved the vibe of this video and it's always fun to hear other photographers talk through their decisions when framing up a shot. Would watch more of this style of video for sure.
Really glad to have come across this vid! I love a mix of film and "vintage" digital. The whole shoot had a cool but still humble/casual aesthetic. Love using my Rolleiflex automat TLR (replacing the ground glass with one that features grid lines from Rick Oleson helps with composing, and I have that same 40mm on my 5D classic (favorite lens for sure!)....I'd love to try a Q someday.. Subscribed!
Bro! Are you really complaining about Montana, lol. I will trade you scenery any day bro. This video is absolute Gold! The boot shot is epic and my absolute favorite. I like the photo you like also, it looks like you had a pro mist filter on it, and then I also like the river shot, which was fire also. Keep this videos coming, they rock and be sure to tell your folks I said hello -from your North Dakota Neighbor (If your not laughing, you ain't livin)
Nice. I liked the candid filming of the portrait shoot. I'm trying to become more confident directing people when I photograph them in the hopes that my portraits will be more compelling. Side note, be careful where you put text on your video frame. It was covered by the close captioning for me. Thanks!
These yashica's are cheaper imitations of the Rolleicord and Rolleiflex. My father used to have these but even then the 24X36mm camera's where sharper. They hard to work with, best on a tripod but great fun. Sell all your leica mirrorless and buy a decent dslr from a couple of years ago. Then you will have the best of both worlds but you probably started that way😃 If you want to do film, you have to develop and enlarge yourself. Once you have done that your glad that you have a digital camera. But I completely understand that you young folks are not inspired by the retro cams and want to taste the real thing. My first camera was an Agfa Clack with 6X9!
I want a Vintage Nikon FM2, but I reside in India, where it's very hard to find (or you can't even find one). If there's a way to help me... You can. Well, I like your videos, and it is hard to get Views. But a Perfect Consistency can make it better.
I prefer these types of videos. Laid back, no music, cool environment, and good comparisons between flim and digital.
Yep, a superb vibe. Calm and leisurely. Sucked me right in.

You pointing out your favorite and that being my favorite was the best. Terrific video, Forrest. Been following for awhile now.
Also I did pick up the settings. Much appreciated.
oh that's awesome! I figured I was probably the only person who would like that one!
Let’s see more in 2024! Love your videos and it’s always encouraging and inspiring to watch you create.
Great work. More of this style would be excellent. I loved the first black and white image @ 4:38

Those are tremendously beautiful images to get out of a $150 camera. And I love to spot you chose on the bridge over the partially frozen river.
My kind of video, so well done and refreshing. Thanks for sharing this, really happy I found your content.

Enjoyed the "day in the life" vibe of this one.
Loved the video and what a great location. You killed it with the props. Your work is so solid. Great to see the behind the scenes.
I second that, Forrest is a magician
Video was nice and chill. Would be happy to see more like it.

Love to see the real stuff! Great analog and digital combo thing, threating the digital as analogue and not shooten 1.000 pictures. Inspirering!
Awesome video! Really enjoyed it.
these are great, dude!!
Good to see another of your videos. Always look forward to them! Your friend McKenna has a real Billie Eilish vibe. Cool photo shoot.
5d ii and original Q is such a combo

100% not complaining about Montana! Thanks man appreciate it!
every time she said “maybe” it made me think of that interview with elijah wood responding maybe to dominic monaghan asking “will you wear wigs?” lol
Medium Format film FTW.

Super cool shoot! Was the video shot on a iphone?
Half iPhone half Leica sl2s!
