This video was confirmation that the B18c-R can easily compete with any K-series. The older chassis hondas also all had double wishbone suspension which the Dc5 doesnt and it shows. DC2 FTW.
From factory dc2 is superior in build quality and more suitable for racetrack, 1100kg, 200hp from 1.8L, the chassis is welded by Honda, double wishbone suspension, etc etc etc a lot of tuning from factory, the Dc5 was rafined and different kind if car, it wasnt the racecar the dc2 was, it was fat it didnt sell well and they needed ton stop producing Integra after.. i dont like the dc5
Art Vandelay no it doesn’t . Ask speed factory what their opinion is on this subject. They own the fastest FF outlaw drag car with a stroked gsr motor. They’re faster by a large margin.
@@TheBb6prelude Integra Type R wasn't developped for drag races, but for tracks. On track, DC2 > DC5 (stock). If not stock, K20 is more tuning friendly than B18.
At 4:43, Tsuchiya refers to the Spoon DC2R driver as "Hanzo" per the subtitles. Well that's Naoki "Hattori" driving the Spoon DC2R. I must have missed that back in the day.
20yrs ago I had King Motorsports(the Mugen dealer) put a brand new 0mi '01 spec B18c5 with lightly tuned head and Mugen Gymkhana spec 4-2-1 exhaust manifold into my DB2('92 GSR). When I picked it up they told me they were very impressed with how it came out and that it was much faster than a DC2. I have read that DB2's were much stiffer forward of the firewall than the DA's they looked like, and my DB2 only had one small patch of sound insulation under the spare tire. The rest of the hatch was bare painted steel under the carpet. If I had my choice right now, I would pick that car over a DC2 or DC5
Awesome subbing. This maybe a long shot but would you happen to have the episode which they explain shortcomings of the DC5's suspension which makes it difficult for tuning?
I still have the video on hdd, but I don't know when I'm going to translate and upload it because it's not that kind of video every subscribers wants to watch, I'll get to it when I start running dry on content.
Jujutsuheiho nah they went backwards just read about it, the dc2r and nsx/nsxr where loss leaders for honda, plus I own one so I may be a bit biassed. xD still k20s are beast engines, but thats where it kinda ends
Well I own a DC5 so I might be a bit biased. But in reality the DC5 does handle better with suspension tuning. It's just that the DC2 is very light. And when you are FF... Being lightweight is a good advantage. DC2 's get stripped a lot since it's an older car no one really cares about the interior as much. DC5's not so much... So again have to consider those factors. But if the DC5 is coming in around the same weight as the DC2... Then I would say DC5 would win hands down. Especially with the K20 i-vtec powering it.
Also look at the time attack. Both DC5's beat that スビリッツDC2 but none of them stood a chance against スブーンDC2 I think it was just because spoon tunes Honda's very good. It's acceleration was beastly.
+CreativeBoy100 I've driven a couple of '96 spec DC2 ITRs, owned an EG6 SiR, an EG6 SiRII, a CR-X Si, and currently own both an EK9 and a 2001 DC5 ITR. The DC5 is the much better car. May not be the best track beater, but it is a 1,000 times better as a car. However, with that said, I'm trying to replace my DC5 with a '98 spec DB8 ITR. DC5 ITR in Japan is just too expensive to own, and if I wanted to pull the engine every time I needed to do anything to the engine, I'd buy a '90s Ferrari. With that said, I'll miss it when it's gone. The DC5 chassis is just so much better than the previous Integras.
I’ve owned a newish civic in the past and. Ow own a built dc4 for touge. The older chassis is way better suited for racing as a whole. Cars now are just giant boats.
Bruh, how yall loose to a1.8 wit a K series motor, them fools wit DC5s are not representing us DC5 owners well smh, I guess weight really makes a difference...
just so that you know, the drivers driving the dc5's are extremely good, its the strut positioning of the dc5,that makes it tough for tuners to extensively tune,or as good as the dc2's,in other words. and yes, weight did turn out to be a big factor.

Strontstash jajajajaja looool xD
FF cars be like
They make circuit racing seem so funnn

k series has FAR greater power potential, its apples and oranges
I don't think a B18 can compete with a K24, with the same amount of tuning on both engines. :(

lighter is always better
Miroshi I love you
thanks alot, really enjoying the dc5 vids!
This is wonderful. Exactly what I wanted to see happen.

やっぱりDC2の方が好きかな〜。

Long live the DC2
Japanese are awesome.. I love their cars. Actually i owned dc5 and i really really love it.
I own a DC2 and it's a real pleasure to drive, you feel it, sorry, ...you FEEL IT!
I have a USDM DC5 (Acura RSX). I'll never get rid of it but I do want a DC2 to match it lol. As well as a FA5 Si sedan.
This is still my single favorite Integra video.
Love this video!
6:08 nice shot dc2 are the best
0:42 that ITR attacking the apex like a beast
that aggressive switch in direction so swift
Spoon can do no wrong. Great vid!
spoon car looks and drives the best..
Awesome video, thank you for uploading and subs!
Driving goals...
hahaha, seeing Dr. Tsuchiya make such a remark to Spoon's president is priceless ^^
I love my k24 Acura rsx type s
At that time, the DC5 hadn't been released yet, so tuning was in the early stages.
That spoon cross transmission makes a big difference. Tried one in a b18c gsr with spoon close ratio.. damn so fast
great video...love to watch..
Old is Gold
I really wish they had featured both the 1st and 2nd gen integras but... :/
BLVE青 1st is a waist of time
The DC2 Integra IMO is the best FWD car of all time. I don’t think it’s even a competition.
Awesome subbing. This maybe a long shot but would you happen to have the episode which they explain shortcomings of the DC5's suspension which makes it difficult for tuning?
Yes I have it, I'll get to it sometime in the future.
***** Great!! Keep up the good work!!
mugen86 I Also want to see it!
+miroshi Yes please. Did you manage to convert and upload it?
I still have the video on hdd, but I don't know when I'm going to translate and upload it because it's not that kind of video every subscribers wants to watch, I'll get to it when I start running dry on content.
DC5 is better stock, but the DC2 will probably never be surpassed by another FF platfrom
やっぱ、はっちゃん好きですねぇ~♪

Who are these smooth brains driving the DC5s?
Honda 💞
Those Dc2 B18c leave those Dc5 k20 for dead!! Totally ate them for lunch..
Is the five speed better on track than the six speed? I have grid guys telling me to get the ep3 type R transmission for my dc5, any suggestions
that vtec is nice
isn't it
Those 2 liter spoon integra are fast as shit!! For what they are.
Anyone kno the horsepower and torque number on the 2 liter spoon engine setup?
Why that Dc5 have fuel cut,I think that the Dc2 should be a 400hp
Footage in this one has been sped up
honda went backwards with the dc5 compared to the dc2
CreativeBoy100 Or spoon is just really good at tuning Honda's
Jujutsuheiho nah they went backwards just read about it, the dc2r and nsx/nsxr where loss leaders for honda, plus I own one so I may be a bit biassed. xD still k20s are beast engines, but thats where it kinda ends

We all know the dc2 is better than the dc5
笑笑
Rsx got smoked lol
Why theore it getting new the more lame it is
Bruh, how yall loose to a1.8 wit a K series motor, them fools wit DC5s are not representing us DC5 owners well smh, I guess weight really makes a difference...

Dude go back to cambering your DC5
power to weight ratio.... the Ks have a bit more hp/trq than the C5 but the DC2 is a light lighter than the DC5.. it makes up for it.
