New Theory: GLIDUS IS A HORSE
Okay, so this one is pretty self-explanatory… Firstly, last episode Alt Shwift X made a passing comment that a tapestry of a horse looked like Glidus. Alt Shwift X does seem like a pretty good source as I’m sure he’s seen Glidus on numerous occasions. Now I know what you’re thinking… This might seem like a throwaway joke, but consider the attention given to horses thoughout Glidus’s videos. He talks about the stylish bangs or armor horses wear throughout the series and often discusses or jokes about characters who are secretly horses. Glidus clearly has some kind of connection to horses. Additionally, as shown with Caraxes, he has a special appreciation for animals with long necks… Perhaps long necks a trait that horses find attractive? Perhaps all those theories of different people being horses were instances of projection, and let’s not ignore this would go a long way to explain the gaps between his Blisstake’s… Editing with hooves is undoubtedly quite difficult.
What do y’all think? Do you too believe that Glidus is secretly a horse or do you think there is another explanation? Let me know👍
Its the only thing that makes sense
Also answers why there are so many GoT food discussions with that Shiwift x guy, if there is anything horses like to do, besides delayinbg Blisstakes, it's eating! The discussions also derail into anything other than food, which fits horses very well. I mean where do you think ' horsing around' comes from?
One day he might come out of his closet and the yt channels will fuse into the Horse Shwit channel.
It's so obvious now that you've explained the theory. I hope he will drop the pretense now and confirm...

I think my favorite point from this video about why Seasmoke might have rejected Darklyn and sought Addam had to be about how dragons want someone with an equal will to rule as their own; Ser Stephan Darklyn was a sworn sword-someone who has taken prior lifelong vows of servitude that he undoubtedly meant if he’s willing to try and claim a dragon for Rhaeneyra. He died for her cause. But the only thing we’ve seen about Addam is his eagerness to prove his worth, and to do so by wielding power righteously, in his mind. He’s a good guy but also actively seeks to empower himself and gain glory for himself and his brother, all totally fair and morally neutral impulses for someone with his life’s story. If this was Hogwarts, he’d be a Gryffindor. So it’s not a bad thing that he actively seeks power-and I shan’t say more in case anyone else hasn’t read the books-but I really like how you framed “if I were a dragon, what kind of rider would I want, really?” And we know that Seasmoke and Laenor were two young bucks that were BOTH very “Woohoo!” About being together with Laenor, flying with Laenor, being at war with him. Seasmoke is the only other dragon that has been to war (in the stepstones) than Caraxes on team Black, he can obviously tell that there’s a war on, because Rooks Rest was right there across the water, and with Melys and Rhaenys dead, he’s more eager than ever to claim the young, eager, physically capable Addam, whether Addam was ready or not. It’s a change from the books that I actually really love.
David Lightbringer had a nice little point about that beach chase/dragon strafing sequence, about how Seasmoke is kind of testing or at least observing Addam’s physical fitness, watching his reflexes, agility, and speed, and drew a few comparisons to how Vhagar physically tests young Aemond when he tries to claim her, and he somehow doesn’t die despite not even being strapped in and doing barrel rolls above the bay, hey, he may look scrawny and he may be a boy, but he’s tough enough to ride with Nana Vhagar-and here, too, this ties back to the theory about a dragon accepting a rider as equally vicious or ambitious or attuned to themselves in whatever way; they even had the scene about Daemon being rejected by Melys when he tried to claim her. And obviously the bond he ends up with Caraxes is arguably the strongest among all the dragon riders because I don’t think Daemon has ever given Caraxes a verbal order, has he? They’re just so in sync.
Again i say, " Trauma is our Bond" needs to be the new house words for the Targaryens.
The Dragon Has Three Traumas ☠️
Unrelated but its so funny that there are some people who describe Vhagar letting aemond claim her as trauma bonding which makes it so clear that they don't know what the word means at all

Personal theory. Aeriana Targaryan might be a cousin of Aegon that was married to the Darklyns before the conquest and was just named princess after Aegon became king.
Also, Aenar the Exile had multiple wives and we only know of two kids from them which seems highly unlikely. Aeriana could've been a very distant line of Targaryen that was just broadly referred to as royalty posthumously
That wouldn't make sense bc she would die long before the conquest. Just a bit of a plot hole. No Targaryens prior to Aegon are considered royalty. The start of the Targaryen dynasty is with Aegon.
@@svenskhund3603 as I said, personal theory
@@NP3GA That's fine, your theory has to have a solid foundation to stand on though if you don't want it to be challenged. None of Aegon's ancestors were given the titles of royalty, as their family were Lord's of Dragonstone before the conquest, not King's of Dragonstone.
@svenskhund3603 seconding that this would likely be the case considering Stannis and Renly weren't made princes after Robert became king, so it seems the norm in Westeros that claimed titles don't automatically elevate family members. The only logical solution I can think of is if Aegon maybe specifically named distant-cousin-Aeriana a princess as a potential back up successor when Aenys was still young and sickly (most likely though Rhaenyra/the writers were just wrong and didn't think it through)
I've imagined Daemon's inability to blame Alyss for the magic hallucinations that she is very clearly causing as his insistence that the magic she practices is not real, and blaming her would wound his pride because it would force him to admit some fault
And he’s have to admit that there is something in the universe greater than he is.
Alicent only attempts to show affection to Aemond after she loses power. This is why Aemond regects Alicent, he knows she is just trying to emotionally manipulate him. He just wants his mother's love, but he knows she'll never love him.
Alicent rejected her father's attempt at comforting her, and now Aemond does the same to her. It's the cycle of generational trauma.
My theory too why Alicent seems to dislike Aemond the most out all her children (excluding Daeron), even before the death of Lucyrs, is he's the most like _her_ (underneath all that anime villain posing) in personality and temperment.
At this point I'm watching the show just to know the context for Glimbus&Shift videos.
I honestly assumed the title “princess” must have been given to Aeriana posthumously. “We were always super special and royal, even if we didn’t have a throne!” kind of thing.
That would make sense if rhaenyra handnt specifically said "BORN a Targaryen princess" so I think the only way to make it make sense is to say that she was wrong
@@jacksonross5941 if you start by assuming that all Targs are royalty regardless of whethe they had claimed any royal titles yet then Aeriana was indeed born a princess. By princess Rhaenyra would then mean to "born of the main family branch" instead of princess to the throne.
@@Belegor nobody in universe makes that assumption though? pre-conquest Targaryens are always referred to as lords of dragonstone not kings and nobody has ever called her princess daenys the dreamer

The Mysaria & Rhaenyra scene had vibes of the notorious “Myrish swamp” chapter from Feast. I suspect she’s being manipulated, just as Cersei was. The ominous music helps sell that too.
I didn't love the scene, it felt like something that should have come next episode, just kinda came out of nowhere, this episode should have had some manipulative lines or some weird or charged glances.
I am also reminded of Cersei, although book Rhaenyra is far more Cersei-like than Emma D'Arcy's interpretation. I feel like mysaria should be manipulating Rhaenyra.
@@TheZerech When the hug turned into a kiss I was on the fence about it but when they transitioned that energy to Rhaenyra jumping on her dragon and rolling credits I thought it was a pretty good way to end the episode.
Reptilia Decade is my favourite show of the week
Hey it's this guy
Sadly the vast majority of people do not openly pursue what they truly want most, especially when that thing is the love of a parent who you never felt loved by. I don’t think the fact Aemond isn’t blatantly expressing that he craves Alicent’s love means he doesn’t want it. He wasn’t taught how to build or strengthen those types of relationships. Can you imagine a scene of Aemond simply saying “mother I want us to have a better relationship”? I can’t. I can picture a conversation like that between Jace and Rhaenyra because she has always established that connection with him from early on. It’s incredibly challenging to approach those conversations with parents when that was never the nature of the relationship your entire life. So Aemond is chasing what will give him control because that’s what was modeled to him as the most important thing.
Yes, definitely. And we’ve seen this underlying pattern in their family before, with Aegon asking Alicent if she loves him in 1x09. Her response is essentially that the question is idiotic. Granted, that happened in a very specific high stress circumstance, but I think the fact that Alicent called him an “imbecile” combined with Aegon even having to ask his mother in the first place shows that this isn’t a typical conversation for their dynamic. It’s not something that’s easy for the child to broach, and it’s definitely not easy for the mother either. Although Alicent herself craves better relationships with her children, her response to Aegon opening that door is to shut him down (likely because she doesn’t know how to proceed from there; it’s uncomfortable and unknown, something she has no experience with from her own father’s parenting). That’s an emotional distance Aemond would have picked up on as well, just from growing up, so it makes sense that he doesn’t say what he feels here. Expressing this was never modeled to him, and it seems what was modeled to him was that his mother wouldn’t respond if he tried. Tragically, Alicent may have responded in that moment because we see her regretting the affects of her parenting, but Aemond’s perspective is different
@@rissjohnson3308
I still feel considerable sympathy for Aemond, despite his dickish behaviour this episode.
After attacking his brother he's probably beyond redemption, which is sad.
@@alanpennie Yeah, I do too, from my understanding they made Aemond more sympathetic in the show than the books but I haven’t read them. What he went through doesn’t justify what he does but it definitely makes it make sense at least to a degree as a viewer.
I think a better interpretation of "the people that don't want power are the best suited" is that the people that don't want it likely feel that way because they understand the burden of power.
Jon doesn't want to be commander of the night's watch for the sake of flaunting/abusing his authority. He is scared of having to make tough decisions, but knows no one else but him could even consider cooperation with the wildlings.
Essentially, thirst for power never fulfills people, so they just try to get more until it consumes them. People like Viserys are more likely to take council than people that think they always know best. It's not just "reluctant ruler = good ruler", and I don't think either GRRM or the shows are necessarily trying to generalize like that.
Jon may never have wanted power- but he always proves capable when he steps up, at need- & simply does his level best.
He took a leading role in the defense of Castle Black, despite not being Commander at that time. And after he becomes Commander, BookJon (& potentially before- as Mormont's personal steward, would have had access to his papers & correspondence) knows that Mormont was trying to re-staff some of the closed forts, & it was a rough juggling game- given how thin the Watch is - but after he has the Wildlings & even some of Stannis' men to make use of- he can seriously augment using Nights' Watch as commanders, while bulking out the forces he sends- which essentially doubles the number of forts he can re-open, increasing the Wall's protective range - he uses his predecessor's plan, but utilises his own skills, insight, & resources to improve it.
BookJon also tackles some of the Watch's hypocrisy & internal favouritism in things like appointing Satin as his personal steward- while Jon just looks at the guy's capabilities (& his trust in him), many more in the Watch only see a former 'boy-whore', which isn't fitting to the dignity of the Lord Commander (it's also possible that some might be looking at the pattern; Lord Mormont made Jon his personal steward, something Sam at once recognised as the first step of grooming Jon for future leadership- maybe others recognised that, too- but as Lord Commander's an elected position, that someone has to be put forward as an option, & the vote goes on until someone has the majority- so he could easily be frozen out were it to come to that) - the Watch seems like a meritocracy, & in some ways it is- it certainly takes virtually all-comers (minus women, but Jon even manages to challenge that to some degree, when he re-staffs one of the forts with spear-wives, serving under male commanders)- but just like the maesters, there's a ceiling with who they're willing to appoint to important positions...
Larys theory:
Larys wasn't really pushing for the Hand job.
He just wanted Aemond to keep underestimating him, so he acted as if he tried to pull a manipulation on Aemond for Aemond to see it and dismiss. He looked almost scared when it looked like Aemond was actually giving him the Hand job.

I think you're oversimplifying the idea that Aemond wants Alicent's love a little bit. I can absolutely see how this can be true for him deep down, but actually manifest outwardly as resentment and pushing Alicent away. Aemond seems like kind of person who would despise being emotionally dependent on anyone and interpret it as weakness. Just look at how he reacted to his relationship with Sylvie being discovered: by demeaning her, denying she was important to him in any way, and presumably never seeing her again. Also, remember how he spoke about Alicent to Criston in ep1? I think Aemond will strive to reduce Alicent's influence and push her away precisely because his need for her love gives her power over him, and he perceives that as a threat.

Lord Glimbo! Verily, I regret to inform thee that mine purse doth yet lack the weight to secure a subscription to the hallowed Nebula. Yet, in penitence for mine grievous insolence, I shall, upon a future occasion, subject mine eyes to the viewing of your False John Snow video for three days hence, without respite. This, I vow most solemnly!
I think the reason that Daemon continues to suspect and threaten Simon Strong but not Alys Rivers is because Daemon has come to respect Alys, as we see when he asks for her council and speaks politely to her, whereas Daemon doesn't respect Simon who he perceives as weak and beneath him, so he demeans and bullies Simon, which is a behavior we see Daemon perpetuate many times to other characters who he considers unworthy of or beneath him. I think Daemon doesn't respect anyone who can't prove (in his eyes at least) that they can stand up to him. Daemon only respects strength and fearlessness and resents servility. So I think Alys has sort of won his respect with her "does not give a fuck" attitude whereas Simon keeps trying to pacify Daemon which he perceives as weakness. We also see Daemon suspect people like Otto and others he considers beneath him as being "grasping." Daemon secretly fears and suspects that anyone beneath him MUST want what he has and that they WILL eventually betray him if given the chance in order to raise themselves up at Daemon's expense, which is what he feels towards Rhaenyra; that she connived and "stole" what was rightfully his.
I also think that physically bullying and threatening and demeaning others is simply a way for Daemon to subconsciously reclaim some of the control he feels he's lost during his Weirwood dreams.

Plus, Meleys and Sunfyre were grappling each other at the time; hundreds of feet in the air. From below, it would likely look like Vhager attacked Meleys, and Sunfyre was unintentionally injured while Aemond attempted to 'save' the king from Meleys jaws.
We only know the reality of what happened because we get a dragon's view of the action.
Folks on the castle wall that survived would have likely seen, since we're given their pov of the dragons arriving. But doubtful that would be an account that made it past dungeons lol.
"There are so many people who are going to be furious that Rhaenyra's finally kissing girls and it's *not* Alicent." 😅 Listen... I'll take what I can get!
It's the two dead dragons and Cole declaring victory.
Andy Cole or Joe Cole?
The black stuff is dragon blood or the fluid they use to breath fire, in the rooks rest episode you see it pour out of sunfire in the scene where he nearly hits the ground. It also seems to burn people it lands on.
I think in the show they’re almost making the case that Corlys philandered as a young man but then stopped… grew up, stopped taking Rheyneas for granted, and it lead to a rare healthy marriage with them. Hence, the Hull brothers present as older. And the Laenor being the father rumor is basically abandoned in HoTD allowing for this suggestion.
To be fair most book readers also agree that Corlys is their father since Laenor is pretty well known for liking men.
The make out session was done perfectly, in my opinion.
It started with a moment of passion with the hug, then both of them show slight interest in more intimacy by moving their heads closer to the other, they both wait for consent to be requested and given.
With the loaded atmosphere just before it I was ready to absolutely hate the dynamic, which made it all the better when they still held back enough for a silent conversation.
NOW MY WEEK HAS PURPOSE. Thank you Glimbus and Schwiftus
1:12:05 Glimbo's "yeah" made me laugh so hard, i started choking. Smg. 😅😅😅
I don’t know if anyone else has said this but at 1:46:40 Addam’s rope work is framed in such a way it looks like he is riding a rope dragon, which is lovely foreshadowing
Just want to add... F#@k barnacles!!!
If you discount "Princess" as an inaccurate descriptor, remember that a younger daughter of Gaemon Targaryen married a minor lord, whose descendent pressed a claim at Harrenhal. Aereana Targaryen could be a common ancestor of this claimant and Steffon Darklyn.
AEMOND IS AN DRAGON TYPE POKEMON TRAINER
MR SHIFIWITY CONFIRMED
What is the Stormlands doing? I don’t think it’s been mentioned since a Son for a Son so what is Borros doing? Just a quick little ‘Lord Borros is staying in his castle because he’s scared shitless Rhaenyra will show up and burn Storm’s End to the ground for inadvertently killing her son’ or something. It was a big deal to get the Baratheon’s last season and it made sense for both teams: North was too far away to matter in the short term, Vale is Team Black 🖤, Westerlands is Team Green 💚, Iron Islands is team Red Kraken ❤️🦑, Riverlands and Reach are a free for all because the Great Houses are weak, Dorne is doing its own thing, the Stormlands was the biggest unclaimed region. And it’s one of the closest to Crownlands, surely they would get updates on their armies mustering first.
I honestly thought Rhaenyra was gonna have some strong words with Borros while corpse hunting. That would have been a nice bit of tension.
And hey maybe the greens have been sending ravens to Borros and he just can't read them 😂
In the books iirc he declares for the greens but fuxks off to fight some dornish dude. So he's not really relevant till later in the story. Also the pacing is weird this season so it's not super clear when things are happening lol
i really love the kiss bc it shows how needed rhae wanted to be for once, it adds more perspective to her mindset
It shows her attachment issues that have been rooted since the death of Aemma, and she’s throwing herself at someone that can take her back to a feeling she had with Alicent before all of her attachment issues were formed. She can fulfill what untouched desires she may have had with Alicent now and it prob feels extremely cathartic for those desires to finally be fulfilled
I think it just showed rhae has a little yellow fever in her like the rest of us westerners . Completely relatable

OK. No one is talking about this with Seasmoke but I swear that it makes the most sense. Steffon Darklyn says "serve me" and Seasmoke recoils, but then looks at the dragon keepers and Targaryens, and extends its neck to serve them. Then as Steffon approaches he speaks in common with Seasmoke staring him down, and Seasmoke only wants that high Valrian love in it's life. Then the fire and the screaming happens. But Steffon keeps saying 'serve' up until he's extra crispy. SO after some light torching Seasmoke kips off...but I don't think he just kips off the cold blooded puppy listened! and he's going to 'serve' hence the tracking down the dude that looks the most like his old Bae that also shares half his blood. How am I the only one who sees this?
Dragon blood is black on this show for some reason. That's the stuff flowing towards the throne.
Dragonkeepers: 'hey lets prank him by not giving him a dragonglass dagger to off himself. That'll be a hoot.'
Only 11 seconds in and glidus gives me the giggles. Also the Jason Lannister nipples comment came up I was thinking the converstation with the blacksmith went something like "Oh but George Clooney had nipples on his armor, I demand mine be fancier!" and in the background you hear DBZA's Zarbon go "Mmmmmm"! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Minus the 'princess' bit, there were absolutely other Targaryens - the wife of Aegon's son, Aenys- Alyssa Velaryon's mother was an unnamed Targaryen - Aenar came to Dragonstone with wives, plural- as well as siblings (meaning there were minor branch Targaryens well before the Blackfyres), but there's very little detail in the earlier family tree - other than the second unnamed daughter of Daenys & Gaemon, who married 'a petty lord', & had at least one descendant who lived long enough to be one of the 14 initial claimants at the Great Council of 101AC - 5 of which have unclear identities; there was another that claimed to be a bastard of Maegor, as well as a man who claimed to be a bastard of Jaehaerys himself- & three unnamed claimants, with no detail regarding their ancestry.
I'm a bit frustrated that the show's simplifying/ conflation is risking straying into incongruous D&D territory...
'Fire & Blood' notes that Queen Rhaenys, & later Queen Alysanne put a lot of focus on arranging inter-realm marriages, to help knit the new united Westeros together (possibly as a means of supporting Aegon/ Jaehaerys' vision for a united realm, come the awaited Long Night) -- as is apparent with the reaction against Torrhen's daughter marrying Ronnel Arryn, this didn't always go smoothly early on - however, we also don't know what the pre-Conquest inter-realm marriage situation was, & given later inter-realm marriages did not usually elicit any protests on that score- it can be assumed a success, relatively speaking.
That 'petty lord' Daenys & Gaemon's daughter married could have been a Darklyn.
It's pretty certain a few Targaryan women, especially before the conquest, married outside the family as Aenar seems to have been the last man in the family to practice polygamy until Aegon married _both_ his sisters. It's implied that Rheanys, under other circumstances, would have married outside the family; likely to a Velaryon.
It seems they had more family members then dragons in the years before the conquest and likely had to divest themselves of as many dependent family members as possible since Dragonstone is a small, rocky island that doesn't have much going for it outside of roosting dragons on the volcano.

Ewan Mitchell said that Aemond fires alicent precisely because he wants her love and that clouds his judgement, so he does it to be more focused
That makes sense.
Though of course he's also expressing his understandable resentment.
I think the lions are in front because you wouldn't want any of your men in their way if you have to let them out to fight
I'd imagine they'd just turn around and attack whoever put them in the cage in the first place. Please, please 🙏 let us see that HotD.

Now I need a video of Simon Strong yelling, “SVETLANA!”
the only line of dialogue that Vissy didn’t repeat from episode one was Rheanryas name. he only says that daemon should have been by his side. thought that was neat
1:50:54 next time on glidus: "issuing correction on a previous post of mine, regarding the ironborn. you do not, under any circumstances, "gotta hand it to them""
I'd argue that if you had 100 castles, & only 5 dragons - rather than only picking 5- you would create a ranging area for each, where they could protect/ monitor the castles & roads within that area - the bigger the dragon, the bigger the area- meaning 5 dragons _could_ protect, or at least scout the land around *more* than one castle.
But one would have to take into account the need for dragon & rider to rest, as shown by Rhaenys & Maelys in the earlier episode- meaning they would be ranging *_from_* one castle, in particular. And, by necessity, some would have to go begging- but that's where the rest of your resources come into play; men as scouting patrols, & ravens- who can give alerts ahead of army deployment.
I think Daemon is fully aware of that fact that Alys is giving him the visions and he is just so terrified of her and what she obviously knows about him that the only way for him to deal right now is to desperately try to gaslight himself into believing that there isn't actually anything magical going on in the first place.
He's so unwilling to deal with the truth of what he is finding out about himself (and also probably the revelation that magic is real and he is actively being bewitched in the most literal sense of the word), that he refuses to acknowledge the reality right in front of him.
Jason brought Lions because they have an upkeep cost of only 132 gold and can be used to scatter ranged infantry
1:12:00 I'd appreciate you guys not to hack my DM's. Ryan Condal did, as you know, say to me "Hey Joe which of the crap you yap about do you want to see in the season? Idk whatever it is you do, just pick something you nerd. I need the buy in from you specifically this season at any cost." And of course I said "Daemon in the Shining in Harrenhal, make Alys a Greenseer, heavily hint Larys had something to do with Blood and Cheese for two episodes then drop it entirely, and make up a Targaryen princess to piss off specifically Glidus. Thanks Ryan, and stop negging me. If you want to hang out just say so." And yeah, we have a beautiful friendship now after he dropped the passive aggressive stuff.
reporting back from Nebula saying that yes, I have indeed watched The Fake John Snow. on one level, getting to listen to these two talk media analysis for 24 hours is a lovely gift, on another watching the show from the scope of a single character asks interesting questions about what each character knows and is motivated by, and yet on a third note, half the runtime is just them taking the piss from seasons 7 & 8, seriously, 12 hours in, and the first six seasons are done because all the gentle work of a mortician is over with. The last 12 hours is just the desecration of a corpse. There were no survivors. 10/10 would watch another cut.
Seasmoke is like "once you go black, you can't go back"
UA-cam has been my main content platform forever and yall are the ones that finally got me to get nebula. Needed more lizard talk asap
If I remember correctly, when we first meet Alyn, we see huge holes in the side of the ship. So i assume repairing the planks/hull, removing the barnacle, and scrubbing the poop deck is why Alyn is so damn reluctant every time, and it's taken weeks. Like leave me alone estranged bio-dad i have a job to do >.
Why is no one questioning Alys getting from Harrenhal to Riverrun in 3 days?! Maybe even less since a raven made it back to Harrenhal with the news Grover died.
she's an owl 😉
She was probably already there and she's using weird magic to interact with daemon
The owl carried her
I thought she sent the owl to someone else who "took care" of old Tully
She’s an owl! She told us, why would she lie?
Do you think the black stuff in the tapestry maybe means rot. Coming from melys head towards the iron throne representing the deterioration of the Targaryen’s power and image as viewed by the rest of Westeros
Was about to go to bed but glimbus and schwifty posted another dragon time so sleep must wait
Happy to see the shout out to Joe Magician...he makes great content, is a nice guy with a great sense of humour and is well deserving of the support :)
Alyssa velaryon (Jaehaerys’s mother) was half Targaryen, so they did let dragon blood into the velaryon family tree.
Thank god, I cannot survive the week without my dragon time, also if you can upload a slightly updated version even in a couple of months would be amazing. understand if not though
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR DRAGON TIME FOR AN ETERNITY

Dragonstone (& Driftmark) was Valyria's westernmost outpost, having been settled some two centuries before the Doom- & the Targs arrived 12 years before the Doom -- not knowing the pre-Doom governance situation there, I would posit that if there were no dragonlords already there (perhaps they were recalled to help with the Rhoynar situation & failed to return), on the arrival of Aenar & his 5 dragons (plus however many eggs)- that the governing authority there would give way to them.
It's not unrealistic to imagine non-Targaryen dragons, when you take the history into account.
As someone that´s too poor to breathe I considered myself lucky to be able to watch and support you guys through watching ads. And even though this video is 2 hours long, which is insane, knowing there's 1,5 hours more that I'll never get to watch makes me a bit sad..
Gods, I'm spoiled!
I love just how impractical Jason Lannisters armor is. It’s just to show how the people of this period just have not been to war.
Daemon desperately wants to think he'w the main character, and Alys is doing everything in her power to bash it in his head that he isn't.
Much like another owl, she just needs to trap him in an endless loop by talking at him for hours and making "yes" the default option. Would clear up a lot of confusion.
My interpretation of Seasmoke rejecting Stephon was that Stephon disrespected Smokey at the end. Steph is very nervous and and fearful of the dragon, and rhe keeprs are instructing him to show respect. Seasmoke eventually lowers himself to Stephon's level so that he may be mounted, and Steph drops all interest in treating the dragon as a living creature, and strides towards him, claiming he's done it and assuming that Seasmoke is his to command. Cue the barbecue.
One thing I really like about the HotD dragons so far is that they feel like actual sentient beings with personality. GoT, Rhaegal and Viserion are just. There. They're mostly just accessories for Dany to look cool, and are sacrificed to the plot for drama. Even Drogon's only character moment is glaring at Jon for macking on his mommy. Drogon had so little character that him showing intelligence or burning the throne came completely out of left field.
Maybe I was just spoiled as a kid, because the Predacon(avoiding spoilers) in TFP was a very well written "Giant ancient beastie that os substantially smarter than any of the characters care to admit," and I was hoping the adult show would be able to handle that. Btw, HotD revived my lifelong obsession with dragons, so thinks for causing another hyper fixation wildfire, y'all. Much appreciated.
Little known fact: SeaSmoke has very bad eyesight. He’s far-sighted so it’s tough to see things right in front of him. Without a rider, he has trouble landing. He chased Adam in excitement for he truly believes to have found Leanor. Complexion and Valyrian blood checks out. Now we know why Ser Darklyn was rejected.
Racist dragons. We love it.
