Simon & Carla hang in there you just touch the Surface of Catamarans for Sale. The Last Cat. Did the Guy Buy you Supper for the Advertisement you Did? lol. That light pea Green Catamaran would be Perfect to Rebuild your Way. Peace Be With You Two. Greg 👍🏻
I bet that DH550 absolutely screams along. It should definitely be in your short list and will be very different to your previous boat! Looked in great condition and well put together.
Plywood boats are very very hard to sell second hand: especially home built ones. I build a epoxy and ply dinghy and found that any sort of a scratch on the hull let water seep in and start rotting the ply. Have a look at the price of second hand warram cats: impossible to get rid of, and eventislly sell for pence on the pound.
I am assuming you are talking about Simon’s sunglasses? They are from Havaianas, the Brazilian flip flops, not very easy to find I have to say. We are looking around for new ones as Simon scratched them but no luck so far. Cheers
That is the second DH550 I've seen. The lines and profile of this boat from the water are magnificent. If you're interested there is a DH550 called " Valerie, by Sea Tribe" launched in 2020, built in South Africa. There are videos of the entire build process, and sailing on YT channel " Patrick Lloyd- Warren " the boat is ordered as a kit from the UK. Pieces are precut, and delivered in a container which you keep. The boat is available for charter in the Seychelles. Cheers from yyz
Hi guys, that Cat was a big vessel with lots of room for sure..but the sleeping quarters wasn't what I would call nice, not much colour through the entire boat just saying. But she looks safe and sound. Take care and good luck on your hunt.😎👍
They tend to be remarkably dry in all but monster seas and they have huge drains in the floor and watertight doors.. they can be largely sailed from the internal helm when conditions get truly rough. And are miles safer than a heeling monohull. Theres a Aliminium cat called Elcie that was built for comercial and expedition layout that also has a forward cockpit and has had sailed thousands of miles in all conditions...its on UTube. from when it was sold.. The Broadblue Rapier is an even more radical development of the ability to sail from within.. and though the same length has a cavernous interior.
Have you thought about the fact that the forward pit being away from the sheets? Think about reefing or hoisting sails? You have to have one person for word and one aft every time you reef or do a sail change.
The sheets are located in the forward pit with all the other sail handling lines, so you can do it all from there. Two electric winches. You also have a wheel on the pit so you can manually position the boat head to wind to raise the sails etc. You do get a good view of the sails from the pit. Cheers
Hi guys, just came across your channel - and I like it! And I have question (and I am guessing that you’ve already answered this elsewhere - I apologise and will try to find the right episode!) but how do you get on with the Schengen visa thing? I notice that you are are not both English (like my wife and I - she is polish) and wondered if this was helping you move freely.
Hi Warren, lovely to have you around. I have double nationality (English/Portuguese) and Simon was under the Schengen rules just up to now. He’s just got he’s Portuguese nationality through marriage. Which you might be able to apply to Polish nationality as well and then you would be free to travel without a problem. You have to check if Poland allows you to do through marriage. It was a very long process, took 26 months but well worth it. Otherwise you have to be 3 months out of Schengen which is possible, there are so many countries out and so close that makes it possible to happen.
@@SailingOceanFox wow! Such a fast response! (And to be honest I wasn’t expecting one at all!), so thank you. I think I probably can get Polish citizenship but…..I think they want us to both live there and be able to speak Polish to qualify (can you imagine?! There is a national shortage of vowels in Poland! It’s nearly impossible!). Regarding the Schengen Shuffle - you said there are so many countries ‘out’, but I can only think of Croatia (and even they are trying to get ‘in’). Are there others that are useful/
@@warrenthorp same system to apply in Portugal but Simon got away without speaking Portuguese because he applied through marriage, that was the secret! Something you should look a bit closer in Poland. They might have this same option. Croatia, Albania,Montenegro, Turkey, Marrocco…those are just on the top of my mind. There are more if you look into it.

Talvez não se tenha visto bem no vídeo mas tem entrada de escadas nos dois lados como num catamaran normal. Difícil será atracar Mediterrâneo style, pouca visibilidade. Obrigada José
Why? Bulkheads issue? Do you think that’s not happening on other boats as well? Lagoon just dealt really badly with the problem so they end up being on the top of the news.
@@SailingOceanFox yes it may happen on other production boats, that and other reasons are why i would never buy one. i value my life to much to be out in the southern ocean (here in nz) in a glued together yacht as my home. better yachts dont cost more they just take more education and better choices to own, after that its easier to sleep.
You could do worse for 650. You could live in a concrete monstrositie with shared swimming pool and shared lavatory flushing while you are in bed on a night 😂

These boats are where the modern performance cruising cat designs began ...great choice... If you can do it.
Yeah…if you can afford it! Not for us unfortunately 😩

Search for Broadblue and Rapier Catamarans.
Also look at whats come out of the Southern Hemisphere.

Absolutely stunning catamaran. The layout of the saloon and cockpit is so nice.
Very, very spacious in the saloon.

The Barge it’s for sale in the UK. Cheers
Sunreef 60's are exquisite and come with a price tag to match.
Certainly does!
You will find the right one. Could you please provide info on the glasses you are wearing. I would like to get a pair. Thank You.

I’d suggest that you try to film without sunglasses if possible-(though they look quite fashionable-they take away from your efforts)
I love it ...just a little bit more subscribers ...awesome guys thanks!

No, never heard
Beautifull boat. However I wonder what happens in the forward pit, going upwind in stormy weather: bath tub or shower station?

DH550 for 650k instead of a couple of millions for a hipster catamaran ? If I had the mother I would go for it no second thoughts.
unless your a mechanic, BEEN SITTING FOR TWO YEARS, RUN!
Would not touch the big one, the running costs will be ASTRONOMICAL. PLUS THOSE BUILT-IN SOLAR PANELS WILL CAUSE MORE EXPENSE THAN THEY ARE WORTH.
