I've had 5 pairs of these since 2013. Only workboot I've ever used. They have become my everyday footwear unless I need to make a quick trip to the store. For me, they simply are the most comfortable footwear I've ever had. The inserts suck and wear out in a few months but that's a cheap upgrade for a reasonably long life boot I abuse fairly regularly.
One of the most comfortable work boots I have ever owned! I beat the living soles out of these things. Wore them down to the ground. They lasted me 2 years and throughout the entire time they were comfortable. I would highly recommend this boot.
you are talkin about w different boot trust me man. Im a welder been using these on the feet all day. it has a hard plastic footbed with a thin insole. even with superfeet, the hard plastic right under them kills your feets
Took a week to break in . After the initial break in it’s a comfortable boot. I used them for construction so I beat the shit out of it lol and it’s held up
Best work boots on the market. Hands down. I’ve own over 15 pairs through out the years and keep coming back to these. I’ve tried redwings, thorogood, cat, wolverine, none compare to the comfort and durability of these 24/7 pros pitboss
8 years here. I ride a Harley as a daily love the boot
I just bought these last weekend. I work in a Grocery Store and do Night Stocking. It's concrete up to 10 hours a day. It's bending down and on the knees. My feet after being on Concrete are not fatigued. I did have a poke on the laces on the bottom where the leather was at a 90 degree cut that hurt. It's been resolved. Like with any shoe it does take a break in period. I got these steel toed shoes due to my foot being run over with a pallet jack trolley. My toes are now forever protected, even with the electric extendable jacks that are walk behind. I have a lady that fell and her foot is permanently damaged by that jack after it ran her foot over. "Sad! SO SAD" These did cost about $134, but the way I see it, the reviews are excellent as well as you can't put a price on foot safety. Now, go out and get yourself these really great boots. You won't regret it, you'll be thankful
96$ on Amazon. Just got mine.
Zak White 9
Just got a pair for $100 flat store had em at $125 but I complained nicely about my thorogoods only lasting 6 months so they cut me a cash deal... Love haggling lol
These boots now cost me 167 today .. smh go trump !
These are my first pair of work boots and I love them, i got the tan pair and put in the anti fatigue insole. Ive had these for a month now, I work in a warehouse. it took about 4 days to break them in, at first i got pain in my heels until i broke them in & I dont get back pain anymore like i did when i was working in regular shoes. Great buy
I have had mine for 2 years now. Im just now replacing them. The only reason is because on of the eyelets below the speed lace broke. Love these boots and wear them 40+ hours a week. I am a commercial HVAC tech so they get used very hard.
they are down to about $100 on Amazon. 5 years of farm work and no outer rips or tears. inner heel area is eaten up so time for a new pair. really happy though
The absolute BEST work boots at one time! I had my first pair for well over 1/2 a decade and refused to put them to sleep until someone asked me to put them in a Timberland Helix Introduction Giveaway Contest where they were promoting their new line and I ended up winning that new pair of Timberlands.
The Pit Bosses IMHO had the ability to become one of those landmark boots for Timb if they had just kept up with the quality control. They are undeniably them most comfortable boots out the box that I've ever used and for the price, they can't be beat. Even still, if I were still buying boots (and my company wasn't paying for my new Red Wings), I'd go for the Pit Bosses. They are still the BEST Timberland boots for work.
I use Dr. Scholls Work Insoles (as I do with all my boots anyway).
Yankee What redwings to you wear?
I have had nothing but bad experiences with Redwing. I've had 4 or 5 pair, and none of them were good at all....
Really good boot, probably the best in it's price range.
Only thing I would change is the tiny eyelets between the standard eyelets and the quick hook ones; they cut through laces quickly, even the kevlar ones.
My favorite boots. I got 2 years out of them but the metal teeth on catwalks at refinery's really eat boot soles up. I bought the pro helix boots and they are the most uncomfortable boots I've ever worn. Had to buy another pair of the pit boss.
I’ll tell you I love this boot. I put superfeet green insoles and this boot is perfect. The leather is tough as nails. I’ve had other and even more expensive timberland pro boots where the leather was not as durable and sliced and split easy. The pit boss is one tough boot and you can beat the price
I love the timberland pitboss. Best purchase I've ever made. I did excavating for a few years and they were fabulous. I ended up getting a new pair just recently because I got shot in the shin and my boot filled up with blood so I got a new pair. If that didn't happen, I would still be wearing them to this day. Definitely well worth it.
😂 oh lord, how'd you get shot in the shin?
@@jimjones6901 very carefully lol

I've had a pair of these boots going on two years now (I work in a steel mill) and I haven't had a complaint yet! They are pretty beat up but still as comfy as the day I bought them, need new boots soon though sadly due to the soles having almost no more life left in them
I been put it to the test . I work at target in the back room and I unload truck to.
I have wide feet and the wide actually fits me. Takes a while to break in, but after wearing them a while they feel pretty good. Great value for the price
Yup same here man 13 wide they were perfect fit, I was surprised that they did, that's for sure!
I wear these as a high school student at a career center. They’re super comfortable to work in for half the day and I usually just wear them to class afterwards instead of changing into shoes.
Got these years ago and wore them both in a shop and on the work site. I think I got 2-1/2 years out of them. Since then have worn Rocky, Carolina, Wolverine and Chippewa. The Pit Boss outlasted them all and I am now seriously considering going back to them...can’t lose especially for $85 on Amazon!
I only wear pitboss. Best boot i ever bought
I just bought my 5th pair! These boots are made to last and will last you a good 2years.
Very Satisfied with the Pit Boss boot!!!!!, I spray a coat of wd40 once a month works good in the rain👍👍(a good construction boot) ProTimberland is my go to for work boots.
I’ve had mine out in the field for over a year now. Not even a sign of real wear yet. Extremely comfortable, and I do a fair amount of climbing in my line of work
bro you dont have the pit boss if you think these are "extremely comfortable". it has a hard plastic footbed.
Just tried my first timberlands and they are these exact boots here. Wow they feel so good!!! Unbelievable how much more sturdy they feel than my sketcher workshire steel toe boots that would still be In great shape but both boots stitching let go up front behind the toes where snow can just pack in my boot. These timberlands have 4/5 rows of heavy stitching compared to the 2 rows on my sketchers. But best of all the width is perfect!! I’m a 10/10.5 wide as I can get and was concerned after reading reviews but there plenty wide. I chose 10.5 wide. So glad I decided to give these a try. If they hold up I’ll never buy anything else.
i bought redwings got fitted at one of thier stores and everything they tore my feet apart after three months i couldnt do it anymore they caused my toenail to fall off and gave me countless blisters and cost me 230$ USD i bought these timberlands pitboss pros for 98$ and they blow the redwings out the damn water, so much more comfortable and only cost me 98$ USD. red wings i will never purchase again
Got 2 years out of a boot i paid 120$ for. Cant complain.
Bought a pair of the Pit Boss (33046) a few years back, oiled the leather and stored them in my closet. I pulled them out yesterday and put in a good custom insole before I took my first step. I noticed the outer sole was crumbling, leaving dried black rubber everywhere. I called Timberland, but because they were over a year old - no warranty. I really thought they would cover / repair the sole disintegrating.
I work at a winery. Constantly getting wine/juice/water on them everyday. I have had them for about a year now and they are still going
Do they keep your foot dry when the water get on them?
these are good. after wearing them for about 5 months, the inly problem i ever had with them is the collar and tongue tends to rub pretty hard in my shin/outer leg. thick socks help, but that collar is so tough it ends up hurting at the end of the day. some of the best steel toes for the price in terms of comfortability once they get broken in and the leather softens up a bit. footbed good and supportive, and the front of my foot never had any problems. i have wide feet and bought wide.
I have had my timberland pro pit boss for over 12 years. The heel is NOT comfortable and I have to wear them pretty loose, but these boots refuse to die, so on my feet they go
What these boots lack is a nice cushioned MIDSOLE. Which makes a boot so much more comfy. This boot is just a hard rubber outsole and crappy insole. I'll spend the extra $50 for a pair of Carolina or Wolverine which stay comfortable for a year at least without buying new insoles
I have same exact tims but the yellow ones and literally after a week they felt great. Was a little worried because I ordered them off of Amazon and had to get a 13 wide and was just praying that they would fit LOL but I looked out and they were perfect, so yes if you need a work boot this is the boots for you!
I've owned 2 pairs, both pairs lasted me about 1.5 years. I oil my boots and take care of them but I am a land surveyor so I'm also hard on them. I can say they are easily the most comfortable boot I've ever worn. But my first pair the welt separated and my second pair developed a hole in the toe as well as major cracking at the toe bend. Just bought a pair of American made Carolinas, hoping they will last at least 2 years.
I am a Carpenter, these are the best weight/protection tradeoff for small remodel work.
These boots are relatively comfortable for normal everyday wear, but ive recently been using them for work and theyve given me pretty gnarly blisters. There is an exposed seam right down the middle of the heel which has rubbed mine raw and thats even with thick boot socks on. The footbed near the front of the boot curls up slightly right by the big toes in both boots which has also given me pretty large blisters. I covered the seam with moleskin and hope putting new inserts in will fix the other issues but it hasn't proven to be that comfortable of a work boot. Also I normally wear an 11 but have pretty narrow feet so these felt better in a 10.5 medium width.
Just bought my 1st pair today. We'll see how they work out. I need something tough and slip resistant.
I went through two pairs in a year. I split the soles in half at the ball of the foot on both. The leather split at the ides of where the toe and laces meet. I don’t abuse my boots at all. Im a warehouse worker and forklift operator. If it was one pair I’d chalk it up to a fluke, but it was two in a year.
this boot guy reviewer is obviously in bed with Timberland. He'd have more credibility IF he'd just tell the truth. He contradicts himself constantly.
It's. Very well built boot . It fits very well on my feet. 👍👍👍👍
I own these boots and they are AWESOME. The only thing that kinda messes up the deal is the insole. It is really thin and weak, but by replacing it you can get a lot more from these boots.
Alan Bean I always replace my insoles, on Timberlands or Red Wings. Dr. Scholl's running insole is the most comfortable for me. I'm a big guy who works on concrete so I need it for my knees.
I’ve had mine for 8 years now. They got a few scratches in the leather (caught my foot on a freshly cut ladder rack installing telecom cables) but it adds to the character. The only issue I have with mine actually is the padding on the back all the black has crumbled off and the rubber soles have split from couching with my toes bent. Also I’ve never oiled them before
Honest review, he's exactly right.... Take your time breaking them in, use a decent arch support and buy a wide for the steel toe models. I work in a sheet metal shop welding and fabricating with these boots....they work for me. I average 2 years out of them, been buying them for at least 16 years now.
Just got mine today! Very comfortable right out the box. I wonder if you can resole them
Wore them daily for maybe 5 months, and they just hurt my feet all the time. Tried Timberlands upgraded insole and even orthotics, but nothing worked. Ended up buying the Helix HD, and later the Boondock, and haven’t regretted it in the least.
I've had mine for at least five years, and really liked them. I don't wear them daily, but frequently work long days on concrete floors. They are very comfortable with an upgraded insole. However, I went to put them on this morning and noticed that both soles had cracked and can essentially be peeled off the boot. I guess I'll have to get them re-soled, but that will probably cost as much as a new pair, and they really won't be the same. Pretty disappointing ...
I've owned 3 pairs of these, currently i work at a Amazon warehouse where i have put well over 1000mi on my current pair including 2 trips to Disneyland they are heavy and you need better insoles but these boots are bad ass
Hey @bootguy I had these boots for a year I'm a commercial roofer in Phoenix Arizona and they are awesome boots for the price they are durable as hell they got some balls on them there not a bad boot to have also you can buy them at Sears so there easily accessible.
This model was made more sturdy a decade ago, but has been subsequently cheap-a-fied. As long as the glue holds, they're good. Treat with Sno-Seal or mink oil.
really wish they made these in extra wide. tried the regular wide too narrow for me.
I have wide feet, I'm breaking-in a regular width pair right now and it's rough.
Great boot, but there's no way you will get more than a year out of em, unless you don't use them for work. They are the most comfortable wide boot on the market. Steal tip is fantastic, I have dropped blocks, wood, and many other things on them. They will definitely save your toes. Make sure you spray them with wd-40 every other month. It will definitely keep your feet dry. I've been using these boots for years. Just plan on buying a new pair every 9 months to a year.
Your opinion at around the 2:05 mark holds true Boot Guy! These are NOWHERE NEAR a Red Wing USA 676 for comfort. In my opinion of owning at least 30 pairs of boots and shoes these are #1 by a landslide.
You ever try Keen boots? They are my favorite but Red Wings are also damn good. You should try the Keen Braddock, they are made here in the U.S.A and they almost feel like wearing sneakers.
Not yet at least. I own three pairs of Merrell Moab Ventilators in walnut though. That's probably Keen's biggest and closest competitor. They make great summer fishing shoes especially while out in the boat because they breath so well and are very comfortable. I use them instead of wearing sneakers if I am doing a lot of outdoor walking too like at the 4H Fair, a amusement park or while camping.
I have to wear orthodics, take the crappy piece of foam rubber and throw it away, REI greens or orthodics and they are great. I have narrow feet and you can't find real C's or B's, the Medium is a "D" and that isn't narrow. The medium isn't narrow enough until you fill the space with orthodics, if a boot is too wide when the sides start to break in it will crimp in and either make blisters or pinch
He's reviewing a boot that looks brand spanking new. That has to tell you something about the experience he has with it.
So you're saying custom orthoped-thicker insoles go into these boots?
Great boot great price great quality and after breaking them in theyre comfortable. They are heavy but its a quality heavy
I have these but in the tan I bought the timberland anti fatigue footbed for mine I'll let you know how it feels when I get the foot bed
Country Man k20 any update on the feel with the foot bed
@Aurelius Lol!
Great review!
This review is amazing definitely gonna buy me some
10 years and still running :-)
I’m on my second pair the only thing I don’t like about them is the tongue says they are made in Bangladesh but at lease they are designed in New Hampshire, USA other than them not being made in the USA I love how comfortable they are I did put my own dr scholes insoles in anger I wore the flimsy one they give you out but yea I wear these year round everyday
I'm trying to pick between 3 pairs of boots...These Pit Bosses, the Catapillar Second Shifts, or the Wolverine Floor hands. I have the floor hand wellingtons which aren't steel toe(what my job requirements are). They are comfortable, but I feel run a tad big. Out of the 3 I listed, which would be your pick?
I just bought mine can't wait to th them on the job site
timberland is quality. they're not the best on the market but they're definitely quality
But it's summer time! I like the buckle though. I might make a few since I have a lot of cpu heatsinks.
Wish they were waterproof
Great video...best lookin work boots out there!
Can’t you used these for everyday casual use? So not only for work. They look quite fashionable, like a regular boot
Acabo de comprar estas botas gracias a tu video
Actually my top eyelits pulled loose just by lacing up and tightening up
I'm a size 7 in regular premium 6" timberland boots, do these run the same size?
These boots would be perfect if they put a leather patch on the inner heel area.
just bought a pair on amazon I don't know if i got a defected one only three days and the sole is coming off will be sending them back they are comfortable thought
The pit Boss is good but they're not waterproof it'd be a perfect boot if not for that
Thank you!
I’d gone through these in 6 months. I still like’em though
my pros are 4 yrs old, did 2 hikes in them, rode the motorcycle a bit with them, really mostly sat in the closet....decide to wear to work on the cold days.....4 days later, the whole friking sole fell off.
These have polyurethane midsoles. They typically disintegrate after 4 to 8 years regardless of whether they were worn or not. The advantage of polyurethane over an EVA midsole is that they do not lose cushioning very much at all during their lifetime. EVA will be lighter and spongier in the beginning but will lose almost all cushioning after about 3 to 6 months of use, but left on a shelf EVA lasts decades. These are better for using hard and frequently until they die, not for occasional use.
Red Baron Lol yeah right
Your boots are counterfeit 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
How about the size? I’m 9 in regular trainers should I get a 9.5 of this boots ?
Think these in combination with some heavy thermal socks will do well in a -3 degrees Fahrenheit environment?
They work fine in -40 celsius in canada
This might not get answered because the video is so old but what are some good boots that are similar in looks to these? I've had the pitboss for 6 years now and have always loved the look but they are finally starting to fall apart.
Check out ariat work hog boots.
If i wear 8 on the 10061, should i order 8 on the pitboss?
Does timberland sell a thicker insole that I could put in these?
I went for the wide when i saw the sizing (i thought thats a option 😱)
is it better and more durable than caterpillar work boots ?
are the insoles really bad? do they wear off quickly?
which is more durable the cat 2nd shift or this one
If these had a waterproof option, they’d be the perfect work boot imo
amskater123 I have the black steel toe version and they are waterproof. That was one of the reasons I bought these. Every day I work I rinse my boots off, as long as I don’t shoot water down the tongue my feet stay dry.👍
Just get a decent spray, it’s worked for me, the water just beads off.
I buy 2 pairs of Timberline pro pit bosses at a time and get years out of them,,,, they fucking hurt you feet,,, but stop bitching and keep going…. Longest lasting boots I have and I use a cheap can of Johnson’s paste wax to clean and soften them…… Great job on the Review,,, Dead On……..🙃
Ok, I bought these boots and I realize I have to break these in but DAMN the pain it is giving me on the outside of my ankles is killing me. Is it normal for them to be this uncomfortable? Any advice on how to improve this problem I have?
dont lace them all the way up, stop after first speed lace.....solves that problem instantly
Is the bottom puncture resistance?
Hi. I am an Civil engineer and I want to order these boots.
My boots are 27cm(10.63")...27.5cm(10.83")
Which size do U advice me?
P.S.
I weared "CATerpillar 2nd shift" and they are NOT TRUE SIZE - they little bit bigger than their size chart.
CAT's 10.63" (9USA) bigger my foots for 1cm(0.39") not comfy
Hello from Russian Engineers
I thought you would run it through a band saw.
they're not just comfortable they make you so tall
yeah they do, and I'm 6'3 before I put these boots on, lol.
Only had mine a month and right boot rubs the snot outta my 2nd to last toe, up on top. Dicks Sportinggoods won't refund either.
Dicks doesn't stand behind the comfort of any footwear product. But they can't say no to a defect is you have the receipt.
Call Timberland.. they have a comfort warranty
Very effective !!!
Are they heavy boots?
Hey I’m looking for a good pair of boots for asphalt work any suggestions would be appreciated
Timberland Pro Pitboss is a good one and so is the Cat the second shift.
Are these better then the sawhorse timberlands?
Sawhorse is composite toe
Pit boss is steel toe 💪🏼
Is this waterproof?
Sadly not
Does anyone know how I can clean my pair?
Stiff poly brush and mink oil would work the best. If your working in them.
What boot would you recommend for a lot of walking? I am starting a lawn company and looking for a comfortable boot. Thanks.
The timberland pro titan [ waterproof ] or the wolverine overman [ uninsulated and waterproof ]
Timberland direct attach I have found to be insanely comfortable
fryyyyyyye boots!!!!
