Excellent video sir. Very refreshing to see a video not influenced by sponsorship or Bias like a boot manufacturer reviewing the competition
Thanks Albert🙂 yeah, I like to keep it real man.
Adrian🤜🏼🤛🏼
Very helpful. Thank you for a thorough breakdown.👍🌲
Glad to hear that 😀 🎄thanks for watching
Adrian
Thank you I was looking for someone to cut this exact boot in half and give a review!
Thanks for watching Anthony. I hope it was helpful and that you found what you were looking for😃👍🏼
Timberland polishes the leather with a wax spray which makes is water resistant, using soap to clean will take off that waterproof coat, wax spraying your shoe will keep their water resistance till they last
someone's been watching rose anvil!
Guilty!!! 🙂🥾🤜🏼🤛🏼 I hope cutting my beloved Timbs in half was useful 👍🏻
@@BestForMyFeet ya it was cool to see the inside of that boot! thanks!
@@okthen22ok happy to hear that :) This weekend I'll be cutting in half my Blundstone steel toe boots. If there's anything you'd like to know about it drop me a comment and I'll do my best answer it👍🏻
In your opinion, what's the most comfortable, lightweight steel toe? I'm a machine welder and am on my feet 12 hours a day. Thanks for the videos!
Hey, thanks for watching David. It depends what type of boots you prefer.
I'm not a welder by trade but I talk to a lot of people in the industry and as a result I've put together this round up if you want to check it out:

I liked the KEEN Lansing boots quite a lot. Very comfy and lightweight.
They're less than 5" tall so that might not be the best thing for you since you want something a bit taller to prevent sparks coming into your boots.
Have a look at boots that have an EVA sole or at least an EVA midsole. Kinda like these Georgia slip ons amzn.to/3BdA4Kn. They have rubber on the outsole but they have an EVA midsole that reduces the weight of the boot.
In summary the lightest steel toe I have is the KEEN Lansing. I definatelly suggest to have a look at some other KEEN boots if comfort is what you're looking for.
Hope this helps, let me know👍🏼

@@BestForMyFeet thanks bud
@@dvdm4709 anytime my man 👍🏼
Hey Best!
Thanks for your review and for cutting in half your boots.
Can you tell me if the welt itself is leather as well?
Some boots have a plastic welt which can crack over time.
Thanks again.
Hey, thanks for the comment and for subbing🙂🤜🏼🤛🏼
No, the welt it's not leather on these boots.
They didn't crack while I was wearing them, but I know there's a higher chance for the welt to crack prematurely if it's made out of TPU or some plastic vs leather. I had the boots for almost 2 years in a construction environment.
Hope it helps👍🏼

@@BestForMyFeet Thanks Adrian, do you think you will have your next pair resoled?
No, I won't. First because I cut these ones in half and I don't have another pair.
But even if I did had another pair I wouldn't resole them simply because I get to buy amd test many work boots in one year.
Do you have a pair you want to resole?
@@BestForMyFeet Yes I think I do! I have had problems with some workboots where the sole becomes friable and falls apart but the uppers have been absolutely fine. Some boot soles suffer from hydrolysis if they are not used frequently and they become fragile. Ideally Id like a affordable steel cap boot that can be resoled easily. I currently am using CATERPILLAR Boots and they seem really good for now but just like the Pit Boss they have a plastic welt.
@@mdgcwood I see. Well, if you want to resole those Cats simply ask the cobbler to replace the welt for ya with a leather one (if you end resoling them).
The problem is some of these boots are not that expensive so it might not even be worth doing a resole on the Timbs.
I think they sell at around 150 bucks and a resole might cost you $80-$100 or even more. I'd personally go for a new pair if the difference in price is not thag big.
It's different if you resole a pair of Red Wings, Danners, Thorogood that cost around $300. In that case I think it's worth it.
Wow. Despite the shitty insole timberland give you this seems like a pretty decent boot.
Damn no shank
Yep, but as a I said it didn't made any difference to me. The sole is rock solid and that nylon plate made a huge difference👍🏻
I didn't the shovel though so I can't really comment on that part but for the most part you'll be fine without it.
