It's amazing to believe that a lot of these are all used in speedruns, usually needing to be executed quickly one after the other.
I’ve got another one that ymfah made a video on a while back. Fume knights sword glows slightly for about 25 seconds before he goes to second phase. By using any healing item when he’s in this state, he will do a sword slam attack on you. The slam will stop the sword from glowing, and you can fight for another minute or so before it glows again. You can just repeat this every time his sword starts glowing to skip his second phase all together.

Man that was a great video I also have noticed that you forgot the spell cast swap glitch Sit at a bonfire equip a spell you wanna cast more of with a spell with more casts (recommend soul arrow), next warp to a bonfire and while the animation plays left click with mouse then right click press back to spells and go to the spell you want the cast from wait till the screen is black and click on the spell it's pretty tight to time but if it goes well you have a diffrent amount of cast now you can have like 30 soul spears it goes back to normal if you quit out or the spell moves or gets swapped great for spell casters Edit: it sadly only works on PC so sorry Console players you gotta stick to herbs to refill your cast
Also have a theory on why that happens but I'm not sure about it being true at all Because you swap the spell at pretty much last frame the game didn't had time to swap the full spell but only the amount of use so you load in with the amount the spell that the game attempts to switch i thought of that because if you go spells after the glitch you see the spell that has been used for the glitch (aka if you spell swapped the spell you see soul spear at the Gameplay hud and see soul arrow at the bonfire spell menu)
I love the recognition of Windmills in this video. This was my anthem for ages and ages, and hearing it in a video again sent me on such a wild trip back in time.
I had no idea about the butterfly stationary jump thing or the bright bug glitch and I can't wait to try them out. Also love your song choice windmills are awesome.
I'm not sure if it's a glitch or not, but you can get into the pit area under the bonfire next to where you see the pursuer first. There's a spot that you can run and jump and do a dropping power attack and survive the fall by critically attacking the fire-lizard in the far corner. The cave down there leads you to where the fire-lizard is spitting fireballs at you when trying to get the fire longsword. This can be done even on the base game though it's aggravating trying to get the items down there before dying. There's a total of four fire lizards, I believe, but there are locations you can hide from their attacks to hit them with ranged attacks. I believe it leads to the door on the left when you fight the giant, but I believe it is locked from the other side.
It was probably intended since there is no other place were you can plunge a fire lizard. Also with enough health it's easier to drop on top of the debris at the left on the pit.
Weirdly enough I like dark souls 2 more than 3 by a long shot. Still like the first the most but really love the atmosphere and weird whimsical vibe of ds2 and the world. It’s the one I’ve prob played the most over all
Dark souls 2 seems to have been rehabilitated with the fans. 4/5 years ago this game was the black sheep, everyone seemed to hate it. Now, lots people say how good it is. Weird how that works. Just took a while to grow on people, i suppose.
@@signoguns8501 I actually liked it right away it felt like a middle man between demons and dark souls 1 and felt right at home and love the music / world and different high fantasy feel. I never gave a shit and still don’t care what others think I like what I like and I love ds2
@@TheVioletBunny Glad to hear it. Not accusing you of changing your opinion. DS2 has always had a solid fan base, just public opinion has shifted considerably in a pretty short time frame. Also noticed that DS2 was removed from PSnow recently which probably means theyre are planning a remaster. After a bumpy start, looks like DS2 is finally getting the respect it deserves
Dark Souls 3 is a good game, but it has absolutely no replay value because it only has one viable playstyle: Roll and R1 with fast weapon. Heavy Armor, heavy weapons, bows, miracles, magic - all of that is terrible. It's also a very frustrating game, because the rules of the enemies aren't your rules. The player can't have poise and the player can accidentally hit walls. Enemies however have poise and their attacks go straight through walls. I'm also not a fan of the often-praised level design; While it is more logical than Dark Souls 2's, there are too many bonfires and Fromsoft gave up trying to make good, satisfying shortcuts. The one thing I give Dark Souls 3 credit for, are the bosses. DS3 has the overall best bosses from all three games.
@@TheTexasDice I don’t think it’s a bad game I just don’t think it’s a good dark souls game I think they should have just kept this as a bloodborne 2 and created game that felt more like a dark souls game it’s the only one in the trilogy and series counting demons souls that has this style of combat and artistic style I don’t consider bloodborne a souls game I see it as another fromsoft title like sekiro which just uses some of their signature style on top of. It felt like bloodborne not ds and my issue is and main one it’s just not a souls game to me dark souls finale was the ending of ds2
Ds2 is a truly a special game that super underrated and under appreciated, B-Team did an absolutely phenomenal job with innovation and their own nonsense to feel different from ds1 and ds3
4 months later, but literally. B-Team literally made the game feel newer, better animations, better atmosphere and locations. But it's cool to hate on ds2 and call the devs lazy, I guess... Meanhwile,ds3 is literally just a "remake" of ds1 with a reimagined story and areas. Exactly same animations as ds1 even.🙄 (Ringed City is an excellent dlc though)
@@graviticsoul4248 I agree with you alot, Ds2 was so innovative with the goofy shit and just pure exotic adventure of Ds2. Ds2 was so vibrant and stunning. From The Gorgeous DLC areas, From Dragon Aerie and Dragon Shrine, Earthen peak to Iron Keep While Ds2 had alot of gamk bosses, It excelled the absolute best at its area design, enemy placements are beyond clever af aswell (Ds3 they literally make their enemy placements WAY TOO OBVIOUS) It’s very true that some people Hate Ds2 because it’s funny to hate it, Every souls game is good, Just that Ds2 to me personally stands out somuch because it genuinely makes Dark Souls feel fantasy with all the unique different vibrant areas
@@Xportbob Indeed! They're all fantastic, I was just pointing out the hypocrisy of people that call ds2 lazy, when ds3 doesn't have that many "new" things either. And same, ds2 is my favourite out of the Trilogy!
@@BB_Promoter NPC's are weird in this game. Sometimes you'll get a gravestone if they die, but when that doesn't happen they're gone for the entire playthrough. Most of the time you'll get a gravestone though. So you can just use extra souls, summon their spirits, and talk to them and do whatever.
@@CosmeticFear Late reply but the NPC gravestone appears based on an in-game timer - usually after 2,5, 4 or 5 hours - and some NPCs have exceptions with the gravestone's location. For example if you kill Emerald Herald in Drangleic Castle, her gravestone will appear after 5 hours of gameplay in Majula. Killing NPCs also stops their questlines, removes summon signs and locks the inventory of merchant NPCs based on their last location (e.g. if you kill the Stone Trader in Harvest Valley, she obviously won't move to Majula and her ghost's inventory will be stuck at what she had on offer in Harvest Valley). You can't respawn NPCs using an Ascetic, they can only be summoned at a gravestone for a fee or restored by going into the next New Game+ cycle.
This game is so good. I don’t know why anyone hates it. The only downfall is some unmemorable bosses, but other then that, great game. A slight remake could make it amazing if they make the bosses more memorable by putting in a greater soundtrack
it is a great game in itself but I think people don‘t like it in comparison to the first one. It wasn’t directed by Miyazaki and they changed things and mechanics that made Dark Souls Dark Souls. It also canonically doesn‘t belong into the trilogy’s storyline. It’s basically seen as the weakest link in an amazing series cause DS 1 & 3 are just SO good. I agree though, it doesn‘t deserve the hate and is still worth playing
@@theta_clips I remember the days of the PS3 version, where tumblebuffing was hard, but once you got the timing down it wasn't that bad. On this version, you have to be completely frame perfect, and running at 60fps doesn't make it any easier. But quick question, can someone explain to me what Stance Swapping is? Does that just involve using a different powerstance animation than what's supposed to be used?
malentia restocks her bight bugs every time you get a great soul, however the restock will replace what's left of her current stock, so you can potentially get twelve or fifteen bright bugs from her if you keep buying them before each great soul.
A fun thing about DS2 is that it's the only game in the series that has no instakill limit on fall distance, so you can theoretically survive any fall as long as it isn't the usual instakill from falling into a pit.
nice to see a bit of content on DS2. decided to go do some pvp tonight and I was surprised how often i was getting fights in the blood arena at 120 mill SM. people still play!
i just dont see why everyone hates on DS2. the combat is challenging and the hitboxes are fine but everyone loses too many times and say dark souls 2 bad!
@@Major_oc3lot i’ve beaten dark souls 2, and every soulsborne for that matter, ds2 without question has the worst hit boxes out of any of the games, that’s just fact

Keyboard and Mouse glitch here. You can turn a low use spell into a high use one. (Or the reverse...?) Select your spell, then warp anywhere. But then right click the screen, the right spots would be unlocked areas. It should show "back." Select, then go back to the attune spells screen. And highlight another spell. Just as soon as the loading screen happens, if you confirm your change, you'll spawn with your spell usages swapped, but you'll have, for example, 30 forbidden suns by 'swapping' it with Soul Arrow. It'll last up until you quit the game. So it unfortunately won't work with the brightbug glitch since that requires quitting out, and for this one you must not quit out.
It helps to be pushing yourself forward when you throw it and in the corner somewhat. It’s not too bad then. Next to do the pursuer trick just make sure your character is naked so you can run and jump quicker. I did it in 3 tries the other day. Using the cloud to save and retry.
I like all Dark Souls games but the second one is my favorite by far. Best PvP, more weapons, more spells, more consumable items, most replay value, etc etc.
Parry walk is a glitch in ds2 where if you have the butterfly skirt equipped and parry an enemy at a certain angle , it allows you to stay at the Y level you parried at and allows you to float in the air, like TOD glitch in da3
DS2 was my introduction to the series so will forever hold a special place in my heart. Plus i like how stamina actually mattered and you couldn't just infinitely spam roll like in the other games and BB. everything felt slower and more meaningful and had more weight, but also just the music in Majula will never not give me nerd chills. I love it so much i'll just have it on in the background whilst i go to sleep or am playing other stuff. It's so nice, and also reminds me of that time when i was first discovering souls games as a pc only player. Bearer Seek Seek Lest!
there is a glitch allowing you to have more casts of any spell when you have a spell like forbidden sun that takes 3 slots and has 1 cast at base, you can glitch it to take 1 slot and have 30 casts, you do need a mouse for it though 1. attune the spell you want to increase the casts of 2. fast travel somewhere (you can fast travel to the same location you are already in) 3. during the fade out right click with the mouse it should pop up the back option, after clicking that option you will see the bonfire resting menu again 4. click the attune spell option and then the spell you have attuned 5. there is a flash of the screen after the fade out finishes, during that flash select a spell like soul arrow (that has 1 slot and 30 casts) to switch the forbidden sun 6. once the loading screen finishes (from the fast travel) you should have 30 casts of forbidden sun and it should appear in the attune menu as soul arrow after the glitch going in the menu and equipping another soul arrow will work to increase the casts to 60 and so on (yes you can have infinite forbidden suns) it works with any combination of spells it will last until you either die or quit the game i think ymfah has a video where he shows how to do it
I've never been able to do the Pursuer glitch. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I never seem to be fast enough to get back to the bonfire. Even when I'm naked
Unpopular opinion but this one was the souls game I liked the most. It was 2014 and I was fired from my job, my dad recently passed away, fam was having money troubles, bro almost commited suicide. Dark times... My buddy glen got me a copy of titan fall. I didn't want that EA trash lol. Traded it into gamestop for this game. And staying up all night playing this game was my only escape from reality at that time until things luckily got much better for me. This game is special to me : ) Plus I was hella good at it and owned anyone who wasn't a hacker basically on the lava bridge lol.
I know exactly what you mean, *when* you play a game is just as important to your enjoyment as the game itself. I love Bloodborne the most personally, and a big part of that is because when that game launched, I really needed it.
Is it possible to get the souls from the pursuer quick kill, but not the items? because I never got the ring of blades or his soul consumable so I assumed I was too slow (ran out of endurance while sprinting) - but I also have 10k souls and I don't know where they came from
This video had a ton of video artifacts when youtube processed it the first time. It was unlisted for a day while I had youtube re-process it. He just happened to check the Glitches playlist during that time. Good ol' Trusty Patches!
There's a weapon moveset swap glitch that can be done, it allows any one handed move (attacking, parry, or spellcast) in either hand to immediately transition to two handed stance mid combo, it also works vice versa, allowing you to make a two handed action immediately followed by any one handed action (potentially with another offhand weapon). To do the one hand switched to two hands, press the hands switch button (triangle for playstation) twice quickly and do any one handed move, then the next action performed will be done as if using two hands, even changing the light or heavy attack string by using the first attack in the one hand moveset followed by the second attack in the two handed moveset. The two hands to one hand swap works differently, press the hands switch button and the attack after a short delay, then press the switch button immediately after the attack, this has the same principle as the first version but using your two handed action first. The timings for the one handed swap is strict while the two handed swap is a bit more forgiving.
I should point out this this doesn't work with switching from one handed to an off handed two hands or power stance switch because the switch button needs to be held down for those, nor does switching from power stance to one handed. Switching from a two handed offhand attack to one handed works though.
This is really cool! I love all of your glitches videos, especially of the souls series. But, is the dragonrider falling off the platform really considered a glitch? It's so easy it almost seems like an intended way of beating him.
If someone were to want the easiest no death run possible; You play the game through on NG once. Before you enter NG+1 you want to farm up your level to a crazy amount, get all gear you want or need and max it out and then start NG+1. You will be that overpowered that its rather hard to die in the first place. A no bonfire run on the other hand requires low skill. ITs all matter of time in the end. A failure only makes it longer to come back to your point.
Wow how tight is the timing on that pursuer quick kill? I've been trying it but it doesn't seem to go through Edit: It's pretty tight. If you're a relatively low stamina class (like cleric) you'll probably need to try a few times to make it)
I saw Distortion do a jump in Brume Tower once, from one platform to a lower one by lining up with a bow and then running and plunge attacking. That was from just below the first bonfire inside the tower to an intermediate platform, and then they turned and jumped down to the main floor where you use the Scorching Iron Sceptre. Took less than ten seconds to go from the higher platform to the Foyer level. Not a glitch, I guess, but still cool
Discovered some of those glitches by my own with no guides, but also there were a lot of other glitches in this video I didn’t know about SoTFS. Pretty cool indeed.
When I first played DS2 I hated it. Now it's one of my 5 favorite games w/the DLCs included, and my favorite Souls game. I feel like this game got the FF8 treatment, and many didn't give it a chance because it was different than its popular predecessor.
Just a quick tip: if you punish yourself and play cleric if you use the force spell against the shortcut wall in the Forrest of the fallen giants it also explodes the barrels, so you can be inaccurate and if you're bad like I was a few years ago then that's no more spending 10k souls on firebombs (yes I really did that) and you can stand a small distance back

Sit at a bonfire equip a spell you wanna cast more of with a spell with more casts (recommend soul arrow), next warp to a bonfire and while the animation plays left click with mouse then right click press back to spells and go to the spell you want the cast from wait till the screen is black and click on the spell it's pretty tight to time but if it goes well you have a diffrent amount of cast now you can have like 30 soul spears it goes back to normal if you quit out or the spell moves or gets swapped great for spell casters
Edit: it sadly only works on PC so sorry Console players you gotta stick to herbs to refill your cast
That one was actually in the script originally, but I decided to drop it since it was PC exclusive. You are super right, and it still works!
Also have a theory on why that happens but I'm not sure about it being true at all
Because you swap the spell at pretty much last frame the game didn't had time to swap the full spell but only the amount of use so you load in with the amount the spell that the game attempts to switch i thought of that because if you go spells after the glitch you see the spell that has been used for the glitch (aka if you spell swapped the spell you see soul spear at the Gameplay hud and see soul arrow at the bonfire spell menu)

Love windmills, was so happy when that came on. Great video man!
I just finished playing ds2 and this vid showed up on my recommended list. UA-cam nowadays doing pretty good job.
I just finished DS2 a week or 2 ago as well!
Ds2 is a truly a special game that super underrated and under appreciated,
B-Team did an absolutely phenomenal job with innovation and their own nonsense to feel different from ds1 and ds3
Especially with the dlcs. For me the dlcs are one of the highlights of the souls series.
Exactly same animations as ds1 even.🙄
(Ringed City is an excellent dlc though)
@@graviticsoul4248 I agree with you alot, Ds2 was so innovative with the goofy shit and just pure exotic adventure of Ds2. Ds2 was so vibrant and stunning.
From The Gorgeous DLC areas, From Dragon Aerie and Dragon Shrine,

While Ds2 had alot of gamk bosses, It excelled the absolute best at its area design, enemy placements are beyond clever af aswell (Ds3 they literally make their enemy placements WAY TOO OBVIOUS)

Ruining your game and killing the Herald for a video. Mad respect.
You can always use an Aesthetic..... I think...
You can't respawn NPCs using an Ascetic, they can only be summoned at a gravestone for a fee or restored by going into the next New Game+ cycle.

broooooo, windmills is too underrated, they're amazing. They rly need some more recognition
DS2 might be my favorite, the bosses are forgettable, but the DLC bosses are really hard.
I just can’t look past how weird and clunky it is compared to the other games. I really want it to get remastered the way demon souls did.

tumble buff, spell casting swap and stance swaps are still possible to do
They are?
@@AmadisLFE Yes but spellswap is PC exclusive and tumble buff is quite literally frame perfect tech

New DS2 Scholar content?? Don't mind if I do!! Thanks Phobe this is terrific- some totally new info for me

I've played all the Souls games dozens and dozens of times and I absolutely love them all, but Dark Souls 2 is still by far my favorite.

Keyboard and Mouse glitch here.
You can turn a low use spell into a high use one. (Or the reverse...?)
Select your spell, then warp anywhere. But then right click the screen, the right spots would be unlocked areas. It should show "back."
Select, then go back to the attune spells screen.
I can never get the firebomb clip to work. No matter where I stand and how I angle the camera it never works for me.
Still holds true DS2 actually takes skill not L2 button like in ER now lol
Amazing! I was waiting for this!! Thanks
Parry walk is a glitch in ds2 where if you have the butterfly skirt equipped and parry an enemy at a certain angle , it allows you to stay at the Y level you parried at and allows you to float in the air, like TOD glitch in da3
Windmills is ridiculously underrated
just to add one more, you can prevent fume knight from entering 2nd phase if you time your estus usage properly
Same for me.

there is a glitch allowing you to have more casts of any spell
when you have a spell like forbidden sun that takes 3 slots and has 1 cast at base, you can glitch it to take 1 slot and have 30 casts, you do need a mouse for it though
1. attune the spell you want to increase the casts of
2. fast travel somewhere (you can fast travel to the same location you are already in)
3. during the fade out right click with the mouse it should pop up the back option, after clicking that option you will see the bonfire resting menu again
4. click the attune spell option and then the spell you have attuned
5. there is a flash of the screen after the fade out finishes, during that flash select a spell like soul arrow (that has 1 slot and 30 casts) to switch the forbidden sun
6. once the loading screen finishes (from the fast travel) you should have 30 casts of forbidden sun and it should appear in the attune menu as soul arrow
after the glitch going in the menu and equipping another soul arrow will work to increase the casts to 60 and so on (yes you can have infinite forbidden suns)
it works with any combination of spells
it will last until you either die or quit the game
i think ymfah has a video where he shows how to do it

I know exactly what you mean, *when* you play a game is just as important to your enjoyment as the game itself. I love Bloodborne the most personally, and a big part of that is because when that game launched, I really needed it.
Is it possible to get the souls from the pursuer quick kill, but not the items? because I never got the ring of blades or his soul consumable so I assumed I was too slow (ran out of endurance while sprinting) - but I also have 10k souls and I don't know where they came from

@@PhobiaSoft thanks, it was really confusing because the notification said 33 seconds ago.
200hrs of game and I never discovered the bombfire shortcut.

If someone were to want the easiest no death run possible;
You play the game through on NG once.
I've been trying it but it doesn't seem to go through
