    Fantastic video, Jeff. Helpful in a practical way that I will definitely be exploring (assisted stretching instead of tons of physical/verbal cues lol). Thanks man!

      Check your local laws, in NC assisted stretching would fall under the scope of a licensed massage therapist or higher ranked medical professional.

    Hi, Do you have videos on how to track progress of clients, like fitness evaluation after 3 months of training.

    Great video! However, speaking for north Carolina, assisted stretching would fall under the scope of massage therapists or higher. If you are an athletic trainer with a masters then sure, have at it. But this would be out of the scope of a certified personal trainer in a lot of states. Is it likely someone will actually report you and get you in trouble, not really, but definitely out of our scope. Massage gun definitely falls under that category as well. Just take them through a guided stretch routine

      Hey Marcia, thanks for the feedback and support! It’s definitely a gray area when it comes to assisted stretching and massage gun work but there are many trainers in North Carolina who do both. It’s not illegal for them to do so either. That said, I’d recommend doing what you’re comfortable with. Like I said it’s more of a gray area rather than a black and white, or legal/illegal situation.
      The franchise stretch lab which has several locations in North Carolina has many flexologists or people who only do assisted stretching and massage gun work for a living. That means no training, only assisted stretching, and massage gun work. Many, possibly most, who are employed there only have training certifications. As far as I know, they’ve had no legal trouble in any states including the Carolinas. It’s just an example of something trainers can do that wouldn’t typically be thought of in our typical scope.
      All that being said traditional massage therapy and joint manipulation are clearly outside of our scope. Light assisted stretching, and massage gun work is a gray area, but most would consider it in our scope when done responsibly.
      It’s weird and confusing, but hopefully that makes sense!

    Hi Jeff - your biggest fan here in Atlanta ( : Question - Have you ever ended your sessions with a "finisher?" They could be a leg, core or arm burn out. You could do a fat blaster - basically a mini-hitt session. What are your thoughts? Previous gym I worked in implemented this at the end (prior to cool down). Thank you for continuing to share your knowledge and experience with trainers! I appreciate you!!

      Thank you for the support and kind words! I think a finisher section can be great! I’ll include burnout sets and things like that too. You definitely still want a portion of the workout where you’re ramping down the intensity after that too though.

    How many exercises do you recommend for your long sections

    • @SortaHealthyTrainerEducation
      @SortaHealthyTrainerEducation  Рік тому

      It really depends on the client and how many sets and reps you’re doing.
      Most clients get about 10-14 exercises done in my 45 minute sessions. I have most clients do 2-3 sets of each move.

    Do you assist all clients with stretches at the end of the workout? Idk if you said that in the video already!

      @SortaHealthyTrainerEducation  2 роки тому

      Pretty much all of them! Once in a while someone will prefer to stretch on their own, but those people are rare.
