In this video, I analyse this amazing performance, explain and demonstrate his vocal techniques and I'll tell you what I think made it so great. Sleep Token are definitely one of the most exciting bands in progressive music right now!

Correction, all their albums are awesome. There EPs... their singles... their covers. This band is one of the freshest bands in such a long long long long time. I was able to seem them live and my god. You think they good here? their live performances are sooo much more intimate!

Ascensionism is my absolute favorite. So I have to disagree that it should be her next. She should explore elsewhere first. Jaws, 'The Night Does not Belong to God ', and Alkaline. THEN Ascensionism. Then Euclid. I feel like that's the fast-track on a great, and full ST experience. Then everything else!
Vessel the singer is the creator and composer of all of the music and plays most of the music except the drums

aqua regia is another INSANE song of theirs, melodically, i can eat the chord-progression every day for every meal and will not get sick of it. But that said, their entire album is just pure musical genius!

I can say with full confidence... I HATE when reactors stop the song this much. But this was absolutely everything it should be. The vocal reaction/response and your enthusiasm for this song was indelible. I have been watching many people react to this unbelievable music and I turn most of them off. I think there are two unrealized audiences. Some appreciate the genuine emotional reaction, some enjoy the deep dive. I'm the latter. I think there needs to be a deep dive revolution.
Can't wait for you to hear "Take Me Back To Eden" , that's basically Bohemian Rhapsody, but if it was done today. Also Vessel plays all of the instruments on the studio version of the album except the drums. For the live shows they have more members. :)

Edit after watching the viddy: you asked us to suggest more songs and I think I have a good one: Leprous's Castaway Angels. They're a Norwegian prog metal/alt rock band with very dramatic, theatrical and melancholy compositions. This one's a ballad, with a piano and acoustic guitars, and nothing harsh. Einar, their singer, has a very unique sound, he's good at what he does, and the song is mindblowingly good too.
Also Chokehold from Sleep Token, the song causes nonstop shivers for five minutes straight.

I really love Leprous aswell, such a unique lead vocalist and my guy Baard Kolstad on drums, top 5 drummers of this generation no doubt. (imo .. gotta add that i guess)
"The Silent Revelation" , "Alleviate" or "Below" would also be great picks. EinaaAAAaaaAAAaar is awesome :)

If you'd like to hear another "8 different songs in one", I recommend the title track of their newest album Take Me Back to Eden. It's a rollercoaster of emotions and really takes you somewhere else.

The way you seemingly effortlessly explain in such perfect detail not only what's going on in the music/piece technically, but the way you describe the FEELINGS and the emotions behind the choices that artists make is so wild. They are Ramos’ favorite band for good reason, and as someone who has watched countless ST reactions on YT, I can easily say that yours in one of the best I’ve seen…would love to see you react to literally anything else by them.

You absolutely have to listen to the cover of "Is It Really You" by Sleep Token's singer, Vessel. It's actually so beautiful, and even better there's a video where it mashes up Vessel's vocals with the original song's instruments! It is actually ETHEREAL.

Glad you checked these guys out. And I love that you're not just a vocal nerd but appreciate all aspects of the music. On that note, I'd love for you to check out Ne Obliviscaris sometime. They're also prog, like Sleep Token, but in a very different, Black Metally way with amazing symphonic elements (including a lead violin). It's hard to pick one song of theirs, but Equus, Painters of the Tempest, Forget Not or Eyrie would be a great start. I think you'll melt into a puddle to the music these guys create.
Let's see...I would recommend you to listen to 'The Night Does Not Belong To God' from 'Sundowning' (album released 2019). Then 'Atlantic / Hypnosis/ Mine / The Love You Want / Fall For Me / Alkaline / Telomeres / Missing Limbs' these songs from second album 'This Place Will Be Your Tomb'. When you finish these songs then continue with whole 'Take Me Back To Eden' album as the band planned their songs/album as trilogy with. All these sequence telling stories about relationship and struggle Vessels experienced and how he get back up (kind of). Then everything will be concluded and that's the beautiful ending of the trilogy.
PS. There will be surprise waiting for you in 3rd album. You'll know it only if you complete the sequence I mentioned above.

Throw the rulebook out the window and forget everything you’ve ever learnt about how a song ‘should’ be written, you’ll be should’ing your pants for hours and they shall not be pigeonholed 🤣
Each transition feels like a short story bleeding into the next, and they do such a great job of bringing up elements in each transition to bring it all into a cohesive linear journey and still keep them separate with so much space and room in between.
Such an experience, I wish I could hear this album for the first time again.

It’s the China trash cymbal quarters in the second half of the screams makes the screams sound bigger. The rhythmic “chunking” also really launches the screaming section soooo effectively.

For your info, on this album, Take Me Back To Eden, Vessel performs all the vocals and plays all the instruments except for drums and percussion, which are played by II (Roman number 2). If you were going to do a full album reaction, this would be the one :) Or either of the other two albums for that matter. Sleep Token is pure artistry and emotion which I find rare in today's musical culture.

The Zynaptic guys have a plugin called Harmoniser that takes two audio sounds and blends them together. It wouldn't surprise me if Sleep Token's mixing engineer in post blended the vocals with a full bodied reverb to achieve the strong vocal sound.

I highly recommend bloodsport (from the room below) from sleep token, it truly highlights the beauty and emotion of his voice! It's also very raw recording wise comparatively!
This reaction/analysis made me remember a band I hadn't listened to for a few years. Thank you so much for bringing back those memories! 🥰 I will be listening to a lot of songs from Poets of the Fall (aka Old Gods of Asgard) in the coming weeks, I think. 😊 If I had to recommend something from them, hm... Personal favorites might be "War" and "Given and Denied".

It's almost like the vocalist (Vessel) uses his voice to trace above their complex time signature, making it more palatable. He may be in 3/3 as well, but there's a lot less going on in his version of 3/3, and so he guides us with that. F****** love this band. It's like everything I grew up listening to (Tool, HIM, Deftones), rolled up in a modern presentation.
