Nice one Ross. Enjoying the sabbatical videos. Honestly. 35+ years of triathloning. And I still get the biggest buzz from just racing short, low-key local triathlons. Pretty much weekly from May to September. Get out there and race loads! The videos will be cool too.
I have entered a sprint which is very soon 👀👀
@@triathlon_ross Excellent. Gun to tape!
I’m really impressed by your ability to endure and keep moving forward - more the mental aspect actually! 🙌🏽
Interesting, I feel like the mental side is my weakness 😂😂
Great recap. Interesting learning from the caffeine thing. Its all part of the learning process 👌
Indeed. Will dial it back next time. 👍
Well done Ross, great effort and just getting it done 👍 awesome debrief as well.
Thank you 👍
Enjoy the videos Ross, love the honesty and self reflection. Having done a lot of cycling my body needs careful use of the caffine as well. UA-cam somehow recomended and old uni rugby friend, so sometimes it works!
The algorithm is useful 😂😂 thanks for watching 👍👍
Nice work mate! I solved foot pain with custom insoles, the proper support ones - George Fox
I have had them for years…. Maybe some fresh ones.
Really interesting debrief Mate. Great to hear you have coming out of the event pretty injury free. Ironman is always a learning option.
Don’t forget, if the race isn’t going to plan it’s any opportunity to stock up on gels 👀
Thanks mate. Haha I’m a PFH consumer only 👍

Nice honest account of the race Ross, strange thing caffeine, it can have the same effect on me.
I have been told by PFH in the past once you take it you have to keep taking it but not to exceed a certain amount - think I pushed the limit too far on this one/started taking it too early in the day 👍
well rounded outlook on the race. realistic, i like it. i dont know why, but others seems to be with unrealistic expectations which makes it almost unbeliveable. where did you KQ ?
Thank you. I got my KQ slot at Wales 2022 and deferred it once they moved the race. I would have got one here still as there were 9 in my AG 👍
My Lyft/med support after the race said there were Loads of sore feet. Mine were awful. I think hitting the control joints at pace on Hardy Toll shocked the feet a lot.
Interesting. Hopefully, it was a one off 👍👍
Thank you for your recap. Given how difficult your run leg was are you connvunce riding 10 mins quicker would make your result better overall? IMO harder bike leg would significantly increase your chance of DNF.
The 10mins quicker wouldn’t have been due to riding over normal IM power IMO. I would never of DNF’d unless I passed out etc.
Well Done . Would you say its wort sacrificing some bike split time to know you could out run most ?
Many answers to this question probably. But I would just always go with what you practice in training for all disciplines.
