About Matt: Dr. Matt Hanson is a professional triathlete and coach for triathletes, cyclists and runners. He has an extensive background as an athlete and is highly-educated in all things sports-related.
As an athlete, Matt comes from a wrestling background, but running has always a been a passion of his. In 2014, his first year as a pro, Matt set 3 run course records and won Ironman Chattanooga. He has since tallied 11 professional wins, including 4 North American Championship titles.

great race! texas was my very first full after training for avout 10 months and i was on loop one on the hardy when you guys were on your second. i couldnt believe the power and speed you all had, its was unreal. i knew how far ahead of me you guys were time wise but seeing it first hand was incredible. also as an age grouper i just want to say im sorry for any age groupers that could have gotten in you and the other pros way. i tried so hard to be out of the way and i hope i was never "that guy" at any point but i couldnt help but notice you guys having to dodge and weave in and out as we struggled handling our bikes in the wind. anyway, just wanted to say well done and best of luck in the future!

If you can get some good points in Chattanooga and Boulder along with Lace Placid and Kona I like your chances for the Ironman Pro Series. You're in 3rd place with what you call mediocre performances. Not bad at all. You've positioned yourself well in the series.
