Hi Will, We wouldn't recommend luxury but If that's what you have then go for it. You want to consider that you will be transporting people that have a hard time getting in and out of vehicles so If your vehicle sits high off the ground then you may want to consider another vehicle. Heck! trade that in and you can get 2 mini vans. lol Best wishes to you buddy.

Depends on your area. Base rate plus mileage is customary.

A ton! We were literally running around like ants this way of doing business did not work for us so now we try to keep our trips at 12 to 14 legs per vehicle each day

Vehicle requirements depend on your state. That would require some research. You can do a simple search and if you need assistance I would recommend scheduling a consultation.

What certificate and licenses you guys need to start a NEMT business

Valid Drivers license and certifications
Can you be more specific, like what kind of certifications ? And what kind of permits ?
Other than the base and mileage codes how many other services can be billed under Medicaid? Or is there any other services that we can bill for? For example admin fees.

The same. The price doesn’t get cheaper because you have two.
Do you transport people in w/c and stretchers and are you able to bill private insurance/ Medicare part b for transportation services?
We are unable to bill Medicare at this time. However I do foresee this changing in the near future and yes you can bill private insurance but most insurance carriers have a onboarding process that you have to complete before you begin billing them. If the client has an insurance carrier that you are not credentialed with we usually give the client a receipt so they can seek reimbursement from their insurance carrier.

NEMT rate sheet can be found on our website. The industry needs to unionize all the drivers need to be in a union so we can command more money better working conditions and less bureaucracy
We agree but unfortunately that would require many transportation providers to come together as one and many aren’t ready to take a stance.

Yes and there are many great systems out there. Are you currently in business or looking to start? I would recommend scheduling a call with us. Depending on how many employees you have you can probably start with google sheets/google calendar.

Is this business need an actual office?
It depends on your state requirements and the requirements of any contracts that you may have in place. When we started our business five years ago in order to service medical clients, we were required to have an office space; however, this has since changed. My advice to you is check your state requirements and also the requirements of any service contracts that you currently have or contracts that you plan to pursue.
