A few months ago, the XDA community broke out in a great mood. I had managed to provide a DRM patch for the Sony Xperia XZ Premium. A short time later I developed XperiFIX, a software that could flash the needed files and install the patch. However, the matter had a catch. With each new firmware release, a modified kernel had to be deployed for the DRM patch to work. Also the procedure for the patching was quite impractical. So I decided to invest more time.
Some things have changed with the new version of XperiFIX (v2.0 +). As of now, no pre-modified kernel is needed anymore because the software automatically patches the kernel’s existing ramdisk. In addition, the respective system files are automatically hacked. This paves the way to support many more devices. Updates to the software can be made much faster and the software does not need nearly as much disk space.
XperiFIX now fully automatically recognizes the device, its serial number, the exact model, the installed firmware and more. It chooses the appropriate files and prepares the procedure. So you can hack your device with one click and errors are largely avoided. Nice, huh?
The older version (v1.4) can still be downloaded. This also supports older firmware versions of the Sony Xperia XZ Premium. Version 2.0 and above, will probably only support more recent firmware versions (Oreo).

So I buy this software, unlock the bootloader on my XA2 and the xperifix will root it AND restore the DRM features?
After having loaded into TWRP, Xperifix keeps telling me it's not recognizing the device and in TWRP logs it say failed to mount system/storage. How could i fix this problem?
I hope the future of this application works for all kind of sony experia not just for experia xz only

Thanks bro! It should work without problems. There is only a bug in TWRP for XZ1/c devices. After XperiFIX has flashed the recovery and tries to boot the recovery, you have to unplug your device, boot manually into TWRP and then plug USB again, so XperiFIX can continue.
Hallo Heiko Frenzel, vielen dank für ihre Mühen. Ich war unglaublich wütend als ich erfahlen habe dass wenn man den Bootloader freischaltet, man die Kamera nicht mehr benutzen kann. Leider war es schon zu spät. Ich habe mit 'EMMA' eine stock firmware drauf geflasht und sofort ihr Programm benutzt. Doch leider funktioniert die Kamera trotzdem nicht (grüne Fotos). Könnten sie mir vielleicht behilflich sein?

As soon as you unlock the bootloader, the camera does not work anymore (green pictures). XperiFIX can patch the system so the camera works again.

Unfortunately, it seems no one is able to get ride of that "unlocked bootloader warning" at startup...
That's impossible. As soon as the bootloader is unlocked, the warning message shows up.
How could I backup my DRM before before unlock bootloader and using XperiFix? Thanks a lot.
There is actually no 100% solution to do that. Have a look at XDA forums to get more informations about that.
The checkbox is disabled on the latest version.. So I'm not able to proceed at all, as I can't click on the checkbox. How do I fix this? (running on Windows 10)
Is the device recognized and XperiFIX ready to proceed? The device has to be in fastboot mode (bootloader) and supported by XperiFIX.
It's not detected. Trying with an unlocked G8142 in fastboot mode
It appears a little distorted though. The problem seems to be with the warning checkbox.

Me too. For the standard X too.
If it's on Oreo it should work in manual mode. You only have to select the TWRP image and Magisk zip manually.
it doesnt work for me, phone keeps stuck in bootloop... dont know what should i do...
Then there was an error while XperiFIX was running. Please check the logs (application folder). Maybe the system partition was not mounted read/write. You can boot TWRP, go to "Mount" and uncheck the system partition read-only option. After that, XperiFIX should do it's job.
Can you show as if it could take dng raw images and can use google hdr + algroithm
The XZ Premium doesn't support RAW images, because Sony limited the functionality in the driver/API. I planned to check if there is a possibility to hack the relevant files in the firmware. But this takes a lot of time. Maybe I will get this to work in the future.
hi, i've already unlocked my phone bootloader and followed the steps, but the program dosnt recognize my phone, i've already allowed usb debbugging but when i turn off my phone, hold volume+ and connect the cable, my phone goes to fastboot mode, the led goes blue but the computer and the program still cant reconize my phone, pls help

Hi there, the XA2 Ultra is in experimental state. You can try it and it should work. But you have to install TWRP before using XperiFIX. Please check the "How-to" on the website. :)
Can I please just one of the versions from a year ago? None of the new versions work for me and extremely frustrating.
There is the last older version v1.4 on the website. Which device, model and firmware are you using? Maybe it's a problem with the device drivers. Some users reported problems related to this on XDA. Check it ;)

XperiFIX can't unlock it. The device must be unlocked to use XperiFIX.
it does not work! if it loads 100% and installs TWRP but it does not solve the DRM problem, the camera remains the same, even the worsening of taking green photos now it keeps taking green and sometimes it does not save ... any solution? I am in Stock Firmware 47.1.A.12.75 Android Oreo obviously bootloader unlock and without backup TA ... Help!

It works. Please check "Mount" in TWRP. The system partition read-only option MUST be unchecked, so that XperiFIX can write to the system partition. Run XperiFIX again, then it should work. :)

I can't make it work properly though...
Xperifix is freezing everytime I connect my Xperia XZ Premium in recovery mode (TWRP) and Xperifirm doesn't recognise my phone when I connect it in Flashboot mode. Any ideas ?

You have to put your device in fastboot mode (bootloader). Unplug USB, turn the device off completely. Then hold the Volume(+) key while you plug in the USB cable. Wait for the blue LED light, then release the Volume(+) key. XperiFIX should recognize the device and then you can check the checkbox and start the fix.

Maybe you have to install the correct device drivers from Sony. ;)
i did everything according to the XDA thread and your video, but my camera takes green photos now. When Xperifix showed 20% of the booting recovery and the count was finished a new window in the app appeared and asked me to push Volum UP button together with Power button until the device vibrates three times, so I did all according to the steps in the window and the Xperifix continued work and finished saysing that eveyrhting is fine now. However I encountered a problem with the camera now. How the problem with the camera be fixed now?

My idea was to integrate a module system in XperiFIX, where users can select mods and hacks that are installed with the fix in one run. Maybe I can do that with the next updates. I had no time for it yet.

The Xperia E5 is not officially supported. I don't know if it works on this device.

Yes, but it's experimental. You have to install the TWRP recovery before you can use XperiFIX.

The current version does not support it officially. If it's on Oreo it should work, but I can't give a guarantee. You have to use the manual mode in XperiFIX to do it.

No, I think it's not possible on a locked device. You have to unlock the bootloader (Sony website to get the key) before you can use XperiFIX or flash something like TWRP or Magisk.

No. But before you can root your device, you have to unlock the bootloader. And if you unlock your bootloader, the device will wipe the data partition (all personal data lost). So if your bootloader is locked, backup all your data before you unlock and root it!

Yes. The new v2.3 works with .119 and also .145 firmware. :)

Kann ich leider nicht reproduzieren. Schaut mal bitte in das Service-Menü unter "Security", ob dort irgendwo ein [ERROR] auftaucht. Ihr könnt auch XperiFIX erneut durchlaufen lassen und in den Logs checken, ob irgendwo ein Fehler auftaucht.
