These videos are really good. I myself have thought about playing overseas and these videos give good tips about which country or league level I should apply for based on my own skills.

I find European leagues different for example Spain has smart and skilled players where as France is very athletic.

    •  Рік тому

Definitely! There will be nuances within each region. Europe even has some “buckets” countries like Germany or Turkey, for example.
I was just trying to do a complete overview of each continent for this video though.

Great video. Got a question tho, what’s the mode of payment for European basketball players , especially those in lower leagues??

      Usually it’s straight cash money!

Man Im 19 and played half a season in college and some semi pro. What can I do to increase my chances to play overseas.

    •  Рік тому +1

My first thought would be to finish out whatever remaining years you have of college ball so that you could elevate your profile, resume, network, connections and basketball highlights.
If that’s not an option then I’d look into doubling-down in semi-pro and getting on some better connected teams.
Also exploring your citizenship for a second nationality would be a big thing if that’s a possibility. Look at where your parents and grandparents were born.

Hey I’m a rookie playing semi pro in the states my first year. I have highlights and full game film. Also Passport ready. What should I do first?

    •  Рік тому

Hi Zavon. The first thing I would do is to look at your family lineage and ancestry. Where were your parents and grandparents born? Do they have any other passports? Those could help make things easier as a national.
If you are only American, a great option would be to collect film and stats through the NBLC. This is a Canadian "crossover league" that competes sometimes in the U.S., as well.
It's a great springboard league - meaning it helps you get to bigger levels. Better yet, it allows 6 Americans per roster - that's higher than the usual overseas roster.
      Hope that helps!
