  • Soi Ruam Rudi is a great place to live near the US Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand. You are also very close to the Australian, Japanese and many other embassy's in Bangkok. You'll also find some nice places to eat on Soi Ruam Rudi. You'll also find Holy Redeemer Catholic Church
    Here's a few links for my favorite credit cards. I try to check the links often, but let me know if there is a problem. If they change the offer on the card, I may need to update the link. Full disclosure, I get a few airline miles for referring a new customer. You should get the same public offer at no additional cost. Thank you very much.

    Yeah, Art Deco, 1920s-1930s.
    Napier City, New Zealand, was rebuilt in 1933 in the Art Deco style after it was destroyed by an earthquake.
    It is well worth a visit for the architecture, wineries, and beautiful scenery that surround it.

    Thank you. I can start planning my retirement in Thailand now. As you know Its a big complicated move. I am doing a lot of research and channels like yours are an imense help

      It's not that tricky. Of course do your planning, but don't let it overwhelm you. Channels like mine share our experience. But even in the last two years there have been many changes. When I arrived you got 30 days on arrival. Today it's 60. There will always be change. Do your best to prepare, but just roll with the flow. You'll do fine. I'll keep having some fun making videos and sharing my experience. Hopefully, that will help ease a few peoples minds. If I can do it, anyone can.

    Great vlog. Im in bangkok again soon, so if i need a haircut ill go to Arm's.
    My hair was long when i was in my late teens, early 20s. After i got married, style cut. Now im divorced, it's easy maintenance,
    short back and sides for me, same cut as my granddad had.

    450B is kind of high, in my opinion only. I usually pay 150B, especially for someone like me who gets a haircut weekly. I like watching your videos, even though I don't leave Bangkok. Us Army guys don't make as much money as Navy guys 😂

    The laundry service in that building is pretty good. Used them several times during Bangkok visits. Much more reasonable than the laundry service at the Hyatt Place.

      Yes, the hotels usually charge by the piece. The other places by weight.

      @@TravelBloggerBuzz At the start of this video I showed my buddies barber shop Arm. There is a laundry service right next to his shop. I never used them, but ordman said it was good. I believe 100b a kilo is the normal price. No iron, but they fold things nice.

      @@TravelBloggerBuzz Ya man. Those little shops are everywhere. With your You Tube Handle I'm sure you've did some travelling. But, what I've did for decades is get a permanent marker and make an X on any label. It's never happened, but if my favorite T shirt went missing, I would just say to be on the lookout for the X.
      Some people like the US Navy mesh bag. Just wash the bag with the clothes. You won't lose anything, but they are really wrinkled. I take the chance and have never lost a thing. Plus, they wash, sometimes dryer, sometimes hang dry and when it's folded it looks like it was ironed.

    Thank you for the videos. Informative and honest. Do you know what happens if you go to U.S for 9 months, to your 90 day reporting?
    Services can do the reporting even though you are not there?
    Thank you.

    • @EagerExpat
      @EagerExpat  Місяць тому

      There is no need to report when you leave the country. In fact, the airport counts as a 90 when you return. The clock stops when you leave. 90 day starts when you return. If you like to travel, leave every 89 days for a trip. You never have to do a 90 day report

    Besides higher rent are the restaurants more expensive in that area? When I stayed in that area I never ventured out around my hotel. Seems like a good area to live. Thanks for that walk I really enjoyed it.

    If I have to stay in the U.S. for more than a year do I loose the retirement visa and I have to re-apply?

    • @EagerExpat
      @EagerExpat  Місяць тому +1

      I'm not sure. I'm no visa expert. If you got a Non-O visa approved Jan 1. For some reason you returned to the US and didn't come back until Feb of the next year? My initial thought is you need to be present for the extension on Jan 1 the next year. Or 45 days early in Bangkok. Even with an agent, I believe you need to be present. So yes it would end if you didn't extend it in time. No big deal, just start over. You'll already have the 800k in the bank for more than 60 days. Can you extend it from abroad is the question. That I'm not sure about.
