      I remember being told when I was 12 i had a ghost note advantage cos I was a left on a righty kit. World ain’t made for us. Now there’s internet and u can mirror it I guess. I’ll be able to do things righty’s can’t do like they can’t do stuff I do. It’s a bit handicap till you get mir snares and floors on yer other side haha. I can never find a pair of scissors…

    A fun variation of this to get a 2nd tone for ghost notes is to hit the underside of the hat. I like to do double ghost notes doing this every other bar or so, that you get a sort of triplet sound that adds some nice variation while not really changing the overall flow of your hands.

    Buddy rich played the bass drum with his drum stick when he was super stoked. Joe morello is the best drummer in my opinion doing a long solo in 5/4 and the band comes in totally on the beat!

    That looks like a lot of effort and learning new sticking patterns. Especially if I'm hitting multiple notes with my left hand, it's easier for me to just not worry about it. I just switch to open handed or move my hihat 🤷‍♂️. Changing the accent hand when going between open handed took a little learning but it's second nature now.

      Me too and honestly it translates into lefty playing really well because you just copy his right hand with your left and copy his left with your right.

    Interesting. Id always use a low hi hat to compensate for the speed loss but this technique could be just as troublesome to stick clicks.

    Mehh, It's better to do an upstroke and hit the bottom of the hats. That way you can do double and triple strokes
