    Did a trip out there in 1996 with my Dad in our Jeep TJ. Glad you were able to have that time together!

    I love Moab but the last time we were there in October 2019 it was super busy. I am not a fan of them letting the Side by sides drive on the street. Always good to share a trip like that with family!

    Ali, JEEP-N-DIRT here, man What an awesome trip and nice set up. I just started up my channel and thanks to you and a few other UA-cam greats for being the inspiration. You're right in the tire size thing. 38's is definitely a really good mix and not too much for stock JL rubicons to handle. I recently set up my JL that way and took it out for a trial run over at AOP Adventure Offroad Park outside of Chattanooga TN and couldn't be happier.
    Good Bless you brother. Can't wait for the next video.

      Very cool! Thank you. I’ve been meaning to get to AOP. Might shoot for a trip there this fall.

    Jesus Christ that guy’s gonna be feeling that steering wheel in his chest for a long time!

      Yeah, I didn’t realize how brutal that landing really was until I watched the playback on my computer.

    If you are running the good old Detroit Locker, the "pop" that you heard is normal. I would call it more of a bang, but that's what they do when they are in a high traction situation and are bound up. The early Detroit Lockers were terrible that way and would jar the entire vehicle when that happened.

      It’s an Eaton E-Locker (selectable). I’ve definitely had plenty of Detroits over the years and know that familiar bang!

    Hello!! Thanks for posting! When you stated your Fox 2.0 shocks struggle with your unsprung weight.. can to detail your symptoms of that? And do you notice this concern during hiway/street driving ?

      It’s not really an issue on the street. The challenge has to do more with hitting the trail. Especially when you step up speed off-road. The shocks just can’t handle the rapid movement of the heavier axles/tires. You end up hitting the bump stops much faster. It just needs more compression dampening.

    Pretty sweet trip and JTR! Looking forward to seeing if you figure out a way to improve departure angle, especially w/o a bob.

      Thank you! I believe I have a good solution. Just currently waiting on parts to arrive.

    Quality channel! Thanks for sharing all this great info and being honest about the MPG. I find it odd that people like to claim 20MPG+ on 40"

    Another Bronco breaking steering racks and tie rod ends. They are just not strong enough for Jeep trails…

    • @DrivingLine
      @DrivingLine  2 роки тому +1

      I was really surprised at how little it took to make that thing break. That being said, I was on a trail with a guy running 40s on one and he didn’t have a single problem.

      @@DrivingLine Got lucky. Could you imagine the anxiety on taking a vehicle like that down some of these trails! Yikes 😬

      I have watched other videos where a Bronco broke a tie rod. It seems the Bronco is not built as Ford tough as they think they are.
