Your music really helps me through hard times. Especially this song Csardas. It starts at my mental level, and slowly lifts me into a better mood. Thanks for the inspiration, and keep up the good work.
How the hell have I not come across this channel? I’ve gotten back into brass since not playing for 13 years. You’re an inspiration dude! No edit: just wanted to add I’m making a playlist of your songs for work.
Happy Monday BrassNation! Hope you enjoy this beautiful arrangement of Monti's Csardas made by Drew Fennell. Don't forget to SMASH the like button, leave a comment down below and share this video with your friends. Sheet music as always available at patreon.com/matonizz. Have a great week peeps!
Precise clear articulation at speed on a lower brass instrument. Not many players can separate while keeping the tone pure. Excellent job, as well as the other musicians
Very impressive! Fantastic control, precision and intonation! Also the non-soloists played very well! (But I would have like to hear the difference between p and ff, and legatos e.g. in bar 42 should be played as legato)
You HAVE to step out of your comfort zone. Being proud of yourself will allow you to do anything, and trust me when I tell you that starting somethings the hardest part.if you can just push past the hesitation, and force yourself into it. You'll be a little confused sure, but once you get going. You won't stop. You xant stop, because overcoming a great challenge is more dopamine inducing then cocaine.

Here I was thinking I was pretty good. This is a reminder I still have work haha! Also Drew Fennel can’t jump me for writing high euph notes! Nice job all! This is a favorite piece of mine.
The difference in these instruments is the bore tyoe in the main body. Bb Tenor Tuba has conical tubing slides. Bb Baritone Horn has cylindrical tubing slides. They both come in many different shapes.
Great video as always! Also, any advice on easing the transition from a large shank mouthpiece to a small shank? My tone has suffered significantly and I’m finding it very hard to make the same notes with the same ease as before.
High concert A tend to be a bit flat on most euphoniums on 2nd valve but main reason would be projection and centering. 4th valve is a bit brighter/cleaner but I personally don't mind that either, especially in higher register. Hope that answers the question :)
Hope you enjoy the horn! It's best bang for your buck and df is awesome with customer service and warranty treatment! Let me know how you like it when it arrives!

Imagine how much incredible pieces would have been composed of the euphonium was invented earlier
As a composer, I will feature the euph in more of my compositions
Never heard it in this key before on euphonium. Fantastic playing and arrangement👍 Next piece you have to go higher than a Super A😳😂
Thanks Adam! I guess we need Gypsy Airs in key of Bb then :D
Nice arrangement! G minor makes the fast sections very comfortable!
Yes, that was the whole idea of this arrangement. Most bang for your buck :)
I must've watched this video at least 15-20 times by now. Such a great song and this arrangement is killer!
Holy crap! This is the cleanest euphonium czardas I've ever heard! Thanks so much for your work!
Damn! What an ending! A great exercise that is at the same time a wonderful contrast between light and dark, ponderous and airy fun. Bravissimo!
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed it!

Even back when I was at my best, on TC Baritone, I wouldn't have been able to approach such! Fantastic!!!

Amazing! So glad you have a channel here !
The super A was just the icing on a pretty incredible cake.
Thank you!
Oh my God, amazing.
even after 7 years of playing baritone/euphonium, i could only ever dream of playing this arrangement-- you must be a wizard or something

Wonderful ❤️
My friend played this on baritone in our band this year as a sophomore in our Bandmasters conference
Nice!

Eu amei seus videos voce tocabem de mais
Amazing, now what are your thoughts on David Childs
Yo, that transition into 26 was nasty my guy, shit 😱
Imagine having a sticky valve on those sixteenth notes
Been there believe me or not :D
Go Lea!!!
Nice one!
This sounds like when in an animation when someone becomes homeless not gonna lie.
Made me crack :D I guess the fast section would be stealing a sandwich? :D
Great video as always! Also, any advice on easing the transition from a large shank mouthpiece to a small shank? My tone has suffered significantly and I’m finding it very hard to make the same notes with the same ease as before.
Hi Christopher, is shank size the only difference or it's a completely different mouthpiece?
@@Matonizz Hello, it is a completely different instrument and mouthpiece entirely, as I have rented an instrument out for more ease of use.
Thanks for showing your hands. I noticed 4th valve for the first note in bar 72. Is that note out of tune on this horn when fingered as 2nd valve?
High concert A tend to be a bit flat on most euphoniums on 2nd valve but main reason would be projection and centering. 4th valve is a bit brighter/cleaner but I personally don't mind that either, especially in higher register. Hope that answers the question :)
The intonation is so perfect it sounds like midi
the section at measure 14 is such a unique sounding part
Yep, pretty dramatic section :)
Muito Bueno bravvo
Otimo
What program are you using to find base clef music where the line follows along?
It's all manual video editing. The software is sibelius but it doesn't really follow it, you have to do that in post production :)
high G nice
Thanks Blue Shades!
That's fantastic. I tried it some times, but it's too fast for my fingers. Greetings from Germany
Thank you Stefan!
you are using Double tongue right?
Yes indeed!
my tongue hurts after listening to this xD
Haha :D
Ha I play the euphonium in band and I sound so much different than this I don’t even understand how it can sound so good

What was the last note the Euphonium gave and in what key it was playing?
Concert G, the key was G Major
lf free euphonium ✓
I’m pretty sure that was a high G not a high A
It's treble A and concert G :)
@@Matonizz oh. I don’t read treble clef
Isn't that a "Super G," not a "Super A" at the end?
It’s an A in treble and a G in bass clef
That's it! :)
